I expected a Pyro taking the job of Heavy to take and deal damage while defending and healing others, while engineer makes his own auto-aim sniper rifle.
Well, in the item descriptions it is stated that pyro builds all his weapons himself. He has anti sapper weapons and became ceo of an engineering company so i think he would actually work very well as engineer
its just a theory, a lonq udor theory, now see you next time where we measure exactly how long each class would survive in a microwave, and how good they would taste
My thoughts, pre-video - While spy's skills and kit make him a servicable pseudo-scout, I think his temperament would also fit for a Sniper. Calculated precision attacks (he has the Ambassador, so he can definitely aim decently), masking his presence but also being obnoxious to piss off enemies... It'd work. - Scout's in-your-face aggression could make for a good pyro - arguably a better one considering his physical stats. High mobility, fast reflexes... The need for a rubber suit to protect from the flamethrower's heat might hinder that, though. They both even have backstabbing weapons for flank plays. - If someone had to take Heavy's job, I'd pick Soldier. Imagine a heavy with banners - now that'd be a great team anchor. Pity he loses all the mobility though, soldiers love their rocket jumps. - While Scout can make great use of pyro's kit I doubt the same is true in reverse - pyro just isnt nearly fast enough. But if you're looking to jump facefirst into enemies to kill them, Soldier might be a good kit. It's like the jetpack playstyle, except without the jetpack. - Demoman loves explosions, but he's also willing to sit back and set up traps. Sounds like a good match for Engineer's kit. - Heavy also fits with Engineer as someone who sits back and lets others come to him, but if that's taken Demo's kit would also work. Also, imagine a Heavy charging up to you with a shield and punching you in the face. - Engineer is already kind of a slow scout with the Gunslinger. I imagine he'd be able to devise up some contraptions to assist with scouting too. - Sniper... Hm. The only option left here is spy, but I don't think Sniper has the social chops for infiltration. Dude lives in a van and throws jarate on people. On the other hand, his outback concoction puts even Demoman down. Which is why I'm giving him Medic's job. Medic, on the other hand, loves being in control of a situation with just his words, and medical knowledge means he knows where to target vital points. So I'll say he's most suited to being our Spy.
Post-video thoughts Hilariously, despite differences in nearly every other job swap, we still both came up with Scout taking Pyro's job. We do both agree Spy would make a good Sniper too. I also like how similar reasoning led to different conclusions re: Heavy's job swap. Funny enough, I had the exact opposite reasoning for Sniper - he's a professional precisely because he doesn't have social graces. That works fine for a doctor, but that kind of a demeanor on a Spy trying to pretend to be someone else? I don't buy it. I didn't mention it before, but I don't think Demo can really use hitscan weapons with his lack of depth perception? Which might make running a shotgun difficult in either of the swaps. But sentries aim for themselves so that's not really an issue. Also, both engi and demo love alcohol. I'm gonna say my list is obviously superior because I actually had reasoning for my pyro swap though (jk i still love you)
Video Suggestion: what if Mann Co. laid off all but all but one of the mercenaries and one had to do double/triple duty to make sure the mission is completed.
Heavy. When it gets down to it, Heavy will step up even if nobody is behind him - End of the Line shows that aspect of him very well. Gameplay-wise, he's powerful defensively and offensively while also having ways to sustain himself, and not needing to reload means that the only downtime he needs is if his health gets too low. And, with the highest HP pool in the game, it'll take a while before he gets to that point. Obviously, its contingent on the gamemode, but no single merc is taking on an entire competent team solo.
@@kayoh9364 I didn't bother to read all of it because I'm dyslexic but end of the line is a community made sfm for a community made update so I don't think end of the line would be cannon unless it's actually was stated that it is. But I do agree that if the engineer didn't pick up the slack it probably would be heavy
4:34 Ah yes, helping the team, that sure wouldn't fit engineer now would it. It's like you take one aspect from a class and base the new class they would fit as from that, without looking at who else could work as that new class and how they compere to each other.
Pyro could have taken Heavy’s job from an in game perspective, though I think there’s a better option for him. In the lore, Pyro built all of his flame throwers( with the exception of the phlog) which seems to imply a great deal of mechanical knowledge, and given Pyro’s friendship with Engineer, I think he could do his job the best.
4:37 I hate this point that so many people say bc it implies Medic never studied as a doctor which is false, its true he doesnt have a medical liscense during TF2 but thats because he LOST the liscense due to malpractice (stealing a skeleton, honest mistake tbh)

I think heavy could make a pretty good sniper as sniper doesn’t need to move much perfect for the fatass who can’t move for shit and his large health pool would give him a fight chance when someone gets in his face
pyro could easily do sniper because if he can land flares from the other side of the map with a curve zoomed out then what could he do zoomed in without a curve
