I have a question about ARENA: is it possible to use different times in the same resource? For example, I have 3 types of trucks arriving and they have to be weighed on the same scale. Truck A is weighed in 03 minutes, truck B is weighed in 05 minutes and truck C is weighed in 7 minutes. After weighing, they are released and the process is closed. So, how to build this model in ARENA? Could you help me? Thank you in advance.
Hello Marcelo, Thank you for your question. Arena is capable of modelling this type of logical challenge in a variety of ways depending on how detailed the model needs to be. One simple option would be to assign A, B or C attributes to the "Trucks" depending on a schedule of arrival or percentage/statistics. You can create a flowchart pathway for each Truck Type and assign the same "resource" for each weighing process module (for example Weigh Bridge 1) whilst using a statistical distributions to cover each of the three different weighing times more accurately. Once you have a flowchart pathway for each truck type, you can include other processes that may be unique to that truck type very easily. However, this way may not necessarily be the most appropriate depending on what you have planned. For more information, please contact me using arena@link-2.biz
Hi! I'm doing a project for my Bachelor's degree.. I have been working in v15 but now for some reason I can't work in that version.. because the v15 doesn't work that well with windows 10 (i have a licens from the uni but the licens only workt with v14)... now i'm having trouble with the readwrite module.. I want to write to an excell-file, byt i can't get to work.. Would you like to do a tutorial of that? thanks!
Hello Mathilda, Apologies for the delay in response. Please email me direct on arena@link-2.biz with details of the university and course and I will see how we can assist. Best Regards, UK Arena Team
Hello Tasneem, The data for this model is hard coded into the Arena Model through the drag, drop, click & configure methodology using flowchart logic. You can interface Arena with MS Excel / .csv etc. to read external data when running the model. Arena can then automatically export key output data back into MS Excel / .csv. This is very powerful for scenario testing as you can expose key parameters to the interface where a non-Arena user can make changes to how the model runs without changing any logic. Hopefully this answers your question?
Hello Ushna, Without context your question is open to interpretation. For example, Arena will automatically create a queue (as part of a process module) when a defined resource is busy and cannot process the next entity until it has finished processing the current entity. This can be seen on the video above the 'Security Check' process module that has been formatted using a seize, delay and release format. However, you can add a very basic queue to your Arena model where there is no resource required. To do this, try adding a process module with a delay function. Best Regards, The UK Arena Team

Can u give me example?
Good Morning, I'd be happy to discuss Arena in more detail. Perhaps you could email me with some basic details? Arena@link-2.biz
where to get the data ?
