  • Video 4 of 12 off of Laura Marling's 'From Bosun's Locker to St James Church'. A DVD that came with the strictly limited edition 'Alas I cannot swim' LP.
All the videos are meant to be watched chronologically, first 01, then 02, then 03, and so on.
I do not own the rights to this video, Virgin Records does! Just thought I might share the wealth a bit:)
    Enjoy!

She's so fragile... and so strong, at the same time. It's beautiful.

I have just loved this song. I heard it first at skins and I could not find it anywhere cause I did not know it starts like this. But well. I love it anyway.

I bet it was beautiful to have been there. The acoustics in the church must have been just amazing!! I love her voice...I don't care whether she's straight faced or making silly faces cos than you'd make fun of her for that. Some great guitarist make crazy faces. Either way the artist is showcasing the true talent, and LM's happens to be a killer voice and an amazing songwriter. Thank you for posting these amazing performances!!

I find it beautiful that she is so entranced in her own music.

Ok I Absolutely love Laura and Love Mumford and Sons and I love this whole show. In this song tho the tone of her voic in the beginning reminds me of Dolores (from the Cranberries)

I think the lack of expression is actually due to the face that she's really rather shy, even without all the new fame and the way that she's been thrust into the spotlight. None of us could really analyse her appropriately without actually having known her, and I believe that we shouldn't make too many assumptions as to her nature as a human, but her. Still, it works to make her live performances more powerful.

Wow, she really is remarkable. I love this part (04) best so far. Also, considering that at the time no-one knew who Mumford & Sons were.... maybe not even who Pete Roe was, the fact that the video she released with her album gives SO MUCH face/on camera time to her backing band, is remarkable too.
