I consulted my plastic surgeon (who removed my eyebags years ago) for hollowness under my eyes. He did recommend deep placement of filler in the cheek lid junction. I decided not to do it for all the reasons mentioned in this video. I prefer to use my caffeine serum, LED light mask, and other at-home treatments, and just dab a bit of concealer on special occasions.

Glad you love the details! I don’t know if anyone is doing skin boosters, like Skinvive around the eyes because of the issue that I mentioned that happened to me. Hyaluronic acid around the eyes should be injected deeply because the skin is very thin to this area so you don’t want to risk getting swelling like I did, likely from superficial injections. However, in other countries outside the US, they have access to different types of skin boosters that are more of a straight liquid. Those can be used around the eyes.
I just dont see that tiredness in the clips you showed us? Lets say, someone who looks like scott disick nowadays has tired eyes... maybe im just used to see ppl without fillers in my area. Anyways, you look great
@@TheMeowizer Thank you so much for your comment. If someone has deep tear trough hollows, the sunken skin can give them a tired look in my opinion, but you may not have observed that from looking at me in this video. My tear troughs never really went back to being as hollow as they ever were. Also, lighting plays a huge role. In bad lighting under eye hollows look more pronounced.
Emily- I was wondering if you use Skinvive (HA micro droplets) by Juvéderm, and what you think about it for the lateral tear trough area? I saw Lisa Rinna getting it, but I wonder if it could result in unevenness or bumpy skin? Should HA filler be injected more deeply? I need more volume in my lateral eye/cheek juncture and have been wondering what to do for it? You look great!!
Thanks! Great questions. I’m actually going to do my next video on this exact issue with Lisa Rinna. Hyaluronic acid filler should be injected to the tear troughs, whether it be the medial or lateral area (palpelomalar grove) deeply. Skinvive used as a skin booster is injected mroe superficially into the dermis. You may be able to use Skinvive here, but the provider should inject deeply. Lisa got injected into her medial cheeks. Hope you subbed and turned on notifications for this next video 🤗
I had undereye filler about 10 years ago and last year suddenly developed a lump under my left eye. It doesn't look swollen, it's just.....a lump. My undereye area looks uneven and bumpy now, but also only the one eye. I don't want to have it dissolved as a friend had hers dissolved and ended up with two holes in her face where they injected the hyuloronidase. I've read similar horror stories and although it seems to happen to very few people I just know I'd be one of them, so I'm stuck with the lump I guess.
Thank you for sharing your story. I think if you dissolved filler, after having it for 10 years, you would have to understand that your skin has aged and will look different if you do dissolve it and that does not mean the filler dissolver was the cause. I don’t think dissolving causes permanent damage to tissue. As we get older the skin to the under eye thins and we develop more topographical irregularities.
@@NaturalInjector Well, yes and no. It does seem like people who experience the most changes after dissolving are usually people who've had multiple filler treatments over the course of many years. However, there are still a lot of unknowns and several very highly regarded doctors in the injectables field have said dissolving can be very unpredictable. One stated he believed filler could be causing the atrophy of connective tissues that is only "unmasked" when it is dissolved. There has only been one study on the effects as there is no incentive within the industry to fund any studies; it's already being widely used off-label. In any case, my friend only had unedereye filler for a few months when she had it dissolved because it didn't look right. She now has two very big dents, craters almost, in her face where the hyaluronidase was injected. That can't be attributed to natural aging and it was done by one of the country's top injectors. I know most people don't experience any of these issues after dissolving so I'm not trying to fearmonger, I'm just saying it has made me wary of dissolving so far because I've already had some bad results from varying treatments, making me extra cautious. There was a very interesting article done on hyaluronidase in 2022 by Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It's on their website if you're interested.
@@santanacaipirinha9536 Thank you for your comment. This is very interesting I had not heard of the hypothesis that filler could cause atrophy of connective tissue. Sorry to hear about your friend that has indentations. Feel free to link to any articles, you can share live links here in the comment section. What is your friend going to do about her indentations?
@@santanacaipirinha9536 if I can say one thing, you have a right to be nervous and skeptical but always remember that everyone’s body reacts to things differently. You didn’t experience anything odd with your fillers until 10 years in versus your friend who unfortunately had it happen a few months in. You never know why or how her situation came to be, it could’ve been error done on the part or the injector regardless of their reputation (we all can still make mistakes), it could’ve been a material issue, etc. if you are unhappy with any bumps from the filler I say don’t give up on researching as many alternatives as possible. I feel there has been much more progress in the research of fillers within the last 10 years especially because it’s becoming so popular so hopefully there’s something out there that can accommodate your fears while giving you any fixes you may need.
I’ve had so many issues with Tyndall and lymphatic blockage from tear trough filler. I LOVED my tear trough filler during my 20’s and 30’s, but hitting 39 has been a game-changer. I’m now doing PRF EZ gel and am going to do a session of Morpheus 8 under my eyes to help with the superficial crepey skin I now have after dissolving my filler. My lateral tear trough is hollowed out now, so I’m considering what else I need to plump that out without filler.
Ohm! Thank you soo much for sharing your experience 🙏🏻 I did the same thing with a scar and now I have this bump 😢 my plastic surgeon didn’t recommend dissolving it bc I will end up with a hollow. I’m patiently waiting for my lymphatic system to take care of it, I use the Guasha tool. Do you think this will eventually work?
I love your reasons for not wearing foundation. My skin is beautiful so why do I think I have to wear foundation?! Good reasons for me to stop wearing it.
Mine also swelled 😢 and my under eye hollows look even worse. At this point Ive given up and just wear glass frames. I don't want more stuff injected into my skin. Filler injection was horrific, headache, pressure, pain, and swelling. I dont EVER want to do this to myself again. Doctor only told me he doesn't remove fillers AFTER he has injected me. Girls, please don't do this to yourself, I implore you. Plastic surgeons aren't really doctors, they're more like sales reps for these filler, botox companies. They should be jailed for telling us it's temporary when they find fillers in cadavers.
I am going to try chemical peels and very shallow microneedling for my under eyes. I have just bought the first mild chem peels. You need to start with the low strength milder chem peels before you gradually move up to the stronger ones. That will take months. Summer is otherwise not a good time to use chem peels. I always use sunscreen and stay out of the sun as much as possible. So I think I will be fine with the milder chem peels until autumn. The microneedling might increase collagen and make the skin thicker and less crepey. It's important to not needle too deep since the skin is so thin. Platinum Skin Care here on YT recommends TCA 7% for the under eyes. 🙂
Thanks for sharing your story. I love chemical peels. I think they can help make the skin surface look smoother and the one I used targets hyperpigmentation more so than other peels. I think microneedling may help the appearance of crepey skin and stimulate collagen on a very superficial level, but for people who have under eye hollows, neither chemical peels or microneedling would help stimulate enough collagen to where it would help raise the level of sunken skin.
I love your videos, always extremely informative! Thank you for this one Emily! I am the same as you, I also avoid wearing makeup for the most part for the same reasons. I haven't gotten tear trough filler, mainly because I'd say I'm a mild to moderate candidate so I'm not overly concerned about mine yet, but also because I'm worried of complications years later, even though I'm not considered under those who are not good candidates.
So glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for sharing your story. I believe I only had this complication from having my scar injected superficially. I think that if you feel you’re a good candidate, tear trough filler may benefit you since you think you may have mild-moderate hollowing. I would just keep the things I mentioned towards the end of this video in mind if you do get treated.
Funny. It was after my girlfriend’s 40th bday in Bimini where we were drinking and staying up late, that I saw myself in pictures and photos and decided I’m getting Botox and filler. I definitely think the sun, dehydration, and late nights really showed my aging.
Okay so.. what are the alternatives for those of us who aren't candidates for under eye filler? Just PRP/PRF? What about a combination of Sculptra and PRF?
ive still got mine 5 years later from having revolax injected in my upper cheek had it dissolved twice and still is swollen :'(the dissolver made it look worst but it has caused even more hollow eyes help
oh really. Interesting. Some people are prone to this swelling and may have festoons. The lymphatic circulation in some may just be generally more compromised.
Thank you for sharing. 🙂 What is your opinion about what seems to be the new Korean under eye fillers? I think they are polydioxanone. I also have a very problematic under eye area. I am worried about swelling with hyaluronic acid. No makeup can even slightly improve my panda eyes 🐼 so I have given up on makeup. So for now I wear tinted prescription glasses. If people can't see my eyes they can't complain about how they look. 😎
Glad you enjoyed the video! I don’t have any opinion on the Korean eye fillers because we don’t have these products here in the US. Thanks for sharing your story. Was the Under eye hollow scale helpful for you to determine if you think you may be a good candidate for under eye filler?
@@NaturalInjector OK, I didn't know that, thanks. Yes I am off that scale by about double the sunken-ness and discolouration. 😄 So I'd say yes I would be a candidate. 😊
My whole face is somewhat swollen due to gravity related edema when I wake up in the morning including my under eyes. Does that mean I'm not a good candidate for under eye filler?
I notice my face is more swollen too in the morning. I wouldn’t be able to tell you without seeing you. You should take a picture in the morning on the days you notice this and discuss this with your prospective provider.
A big thing that makes it worse is if you sleep on the side with the cheek on pushing on the cushion. If only you could sleep on the back with the face straight up 😅
Eye bags/fat pads and under eye darkness are not the same things. 🙂 Removing the bags wouldn't do much, if anything, to the darkness. (For example I have no eye bags but I'm almost blue under my eyes. Removing the fat pads would just make me more blue. It's likely genetic in my case).
I have fairly severe under eye hollows but I also have protruding eyes (both genetic). Ive done 2 rounds of PRP and 2 rounds of PRF ez gel. It indeed only lasted a few months each time. Im really considering under eye filler but im worried about the long term. Would fat transfer be a good long term option instead?
Thanks for sharing your story. I would suggest going to a plastic surgeon for a consult. I think filler to your under eyes, if you are a good candidate, is a way less invasive option and I personally would consider that first over fat transfer. Sometimes fat transfer doesn’t last, as some of the fat goes away after
Yes the basic juvederm filler probably he mentioned the one used on me before , also the previous doctor had combined prp with that for it to last longer after the filler was done
@@NaturalInjector It stayed for 3 years till now ,probably that makes it last longer and also I got it removed yesterday as the other doctor felt that it had come a bit down and could be done better or should be taken out
I’ve had issues that started 7 years ago. I want all my filler dissolved. I’ve had some dissolved but my eyes are lumpy. My tear troughs are much worse now that I had some of my filler dissolved.
micro needling with exosomes got rid of a step on my cheek i got from a fall it also filled my under eyes without having filler and a risk of migration
Did you find the under eye filler hollow scale helpful to determine if you’re a good candidate for under eye filler? Do you think you just have darkness?
Zeroeing into such minute facial details is crazy. I don't see a significant difference worth going through such trouble. Jowls, eye bags, turkey neck, flattened cheeks-these are issues worth treating.

Thank you for sharing. 😊. I don’t think trough filler necessarily makes someone look more/less beautiful, just less tired.
@@NaturalInjectoragreed! As someone who does both on myself they only help the surface skin and will not build volume
@@NaturalInjector Thanks for the tips. Yes I might need to do more things. 🙂 I will see how it goes.
@@beautyandaging OK thanks. 😊 I do need surface improvement too.

Sometimes my under eyes and tear throughs get swollen when I wake up in the morning and it will last a few hours and then go away.
Thanks for sharing. I have heard patients say that happens to them based on if they eat salty food. Do you think it’s from that?
@@NaturalInjector I don't usually eat salty food but I do eat a lot of sugary food. Could it be that?
Okay so.. what are the alternatives for those of us who aren't candidates for under eye filler? Just PRP/PRF? What about a combination of Sculptra and PRF?
I’ve had so many issues with lip filler over the past year that I will NEVER put it in my lips let alone anywhere else in my face!
Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear that.
ive still got mine 5 years later from having revolax injected in my upper cheek had it dissolved twice and still is swollen :'(the dissolver made it look worst but it has caused even more hollow eyes help
What a great video! Thank you for the education.
So glad you like it Gabriella! 💕
My under eye looks like that too, now that I’m older, but I’ve never had anything injected.
oh really. Interesting. Some people are prone to this swelling and may have festoons. The lymphatic circulation in some may just be generally more compromised.
Thoughts on restalyne? Not in the tear trough, but closer to where cheek and edge of under eye meets?
@@scumpuppies I think that’s fine.
What is prp and prf ? What do you think about redensity 2 for under eye fillers? I ‘m confused I don’t want complications😵💫🙏🏻
@@nian60 thanks for sharing glad the scale was helpful
Is this good for fine lines under the eye?
@@sheila7909 No, it should not be injected superficially under the eyes. Only for under eye hollows
@@NaturalInjector OK thanks......what would you suggest for the fine lines?
@@sheila7909 there are biostimulators approved to be used under the eyes in other countries like the UK and Korea
@@NaturalInjector thank you
A big thing that makes it worse is if you sleep on the side with the cheek on pushing on the cushion. If only you could sleep on the back with the face straight up 😅
I had EZgel Prf donde almost a year ago. It didn't do much. Specially because I have a crease between my cheeks and my lower eyelid. Any suggestions?
Thank you for sharing this experience.
You’re very welcome glad you found it useful.
Would it be better to get the fill or get the eye bags surgically removed?
Eye bags/fat pads and under eye darkness are not the same things. 🙂 Removing the bags wouldn't do much, if anything, to the darkness. (For example I have no eye bags but I'm almost blue under my eyes. Removing the fat pads would just make me more blue. It's likely genetic in my case).
Belotero for troughs as it doesn’t pull in water and no blueish color if placed too superficially
This is what my injector is recommending to me. I'm not sure I'm convinced yet. I'm thinking of doing a lower Blepharoplasty 🤔
Sometimes fat transfer doesn’t last, as some of the fat goes away after
What about renuva for the under eyes?
Have you ever dissolved filler from the face before on patients?
@@Vane973 yes.
Also I talked to a doctor and he said that juvederm has more concern of swelling ..
It is also a very heavy filler ..
@@tanyagoel6185. Thanks for sharing. It may have more rates of swelling as well than other brands of fillers.
Yes the basic juvederm filler probably he mentioned the one used on me before , also the previous doctor had combined prp with that for it to last longer after the filler was done
@@tanyagoel6185 Did you have good results when it was mixed with PRP?
@@NaturalInjector
It stayed for 3 years till now ,probably that makes it last longer and also I got it removed yesterday as the other doctor felt that it had come a bit down and could be done better or should be taken out
I’ve had issues that started 7 years ago. I want all my filler dissolved. I’ve had some dissolved but my eyes are lumpy. My tear troughs are much worse now that I had some of my filler dissolved.
@@tp8332 If all of it was not dissolved that may be why it looks lumpy. You may have to dissolve the rest
