Hello Sir,
Firstly would like to thank u a lot for providing deep insight on a new emerging platform. Never found so much of informative videos about Splunk on any other websites or paid tutorial forums
My question on this video:
I have a field with name - Total Profit
In Search Head I will use this in double quotes, since it has a white space. (table "Total Profit")
But how do I use the same while defining Macro ?
I tried with double quotes inside Macro Definition, but it says Invalid argument name, must only contain alphanumeric characters
Thank you.. You need to escape the quotes like below,
\"
@@splunk_ml
Tried below:
Didn't work
index="practice"
| table "Total Cost" "Total Profit"
| `Revenue_Percentage(\"Total Cost\",\"Total Profit\")`
Ahh you were talking about sending a field value to splunk macro... It never works... Splunk macro has that limitation.
@@splunk_ml Oh Ok, thank u so much. :) . So as an alternative i will try renaming the field and pass it as an argument.
That won't work either... You can't pass field to splunk macro
Great video. Very well explained!!
Thank you :)
