FINALLY, a guide that's clear and concise for a noob like me. PoE has been out on PC for so long most guides assume you already know a lot about the game. Thanks for the vid, big like.
Hanz Flackshnack exactly. They either talk way too quickly or they brush over little important details that they assume we know. This guy breaks it all down Barney-style so that even a slow learner like myself can follow along. It’s also helpful having a guide made for the console version, as I’ve noticed there are a lot of little differences from the pc version.
Great video man, I started last week when this came out on ps4 and was completely lost. Fucked up my build but thankfully didn't get far, watched your last beginners guide made the decision to look up a build and restart and it's going much better. Thank you very much for the good advice!
Thanks. Im french and you are 100% clear when you explain. Started 2 days ago, and the game is great. A combination of diablo 2 for gameplay, and the acting voices from dark soul as ambiance. A recipe for playing, ..and not waste time for eatin. Ha ha. Great informative channel, hope you get more viewers as well!
Thank you. On PC the game has quite a presence worldwide so I'm very happy to hear that my videos are easy to follow outside of the states. There are a lot of great content creators on the PC side of the game, but they've been playing so long that their content is well past beginner tutorials, so it was a void I was hopeful to fill for the PS4 community.
Watched lots of your videos. Been loving the game myself and been learning quite extensively all the little things in the game. Very hard to find new player friendly content. I stream when I get on so I try to give information I know of and absorb some as well. Definitely got a sub from me!
Those currency, gems/jewels tabs etc, how did you get them? I've never seen this before either (I presume you have to get the premium stash tab bundle first).
You can purchase them. The currency tab allows you to stack 5000 of each currency. It's super useful. The named tabs are premium tabs and they allow you to post items to be traded directly in game.
I've admittedly stepped away for a while, my gaming time has been cut down pretty drastically so I play a few other games with close friends that live across country with the limited time that I get.
Perfect, I've been filling the Gems for my Volatile Dead Templar. That may be a good place for me to find a few gems if I'm still missing any once I have my Templar leveled up.
@@erikalmen9951 It's what I've been working on. Most of my knowledge of the game comes from my time on PC in the past and doing some extra research when I have a few spare moments. Work and family keeps me quite busy so my playtime on PS4 is limited.
@@erikalmen9951 I created a community on PS4 called Bushifters Exiles. I figured that would be a good way for everyone who's subscribed to communicate and party up on PS4 to chat outside of just the UA-cam channel.
I have this on XB1 and had heard that it was pretty complex. I've played Warframe for almost 2 years which is also a very complex game. With that in mind, I figured it can't be that much more complex than that, can it? Boy was I wrong. I've been playing PoE now off & on for the last 6-8 months and I still have no idea what I'm doing. I have like 8 characters, all of which range between lvl 45-75. I've beating the story mode twice, but the rest...It's smooth sailing every time until I hit Act 6 or so and then....that's when it all goes to hell. Bosses just begin destroying me constantly. I won't even bother fighting one if my XP bar is more than 10% full, because I know I'm going to die 15-20 times which is a lot of xp to lose. Once I start to have my ass handed to me like this on a character I stop playing it and only return after a full passive reset. The two characters I have beaten the story with cannot survive in maps, like even T2 maps. My biggest issue is I still am just clueless on item worth. There are so many currencies/item types/etc. that I just don't know what I'm doing. I always seem to have a lot of the lesser currencies but my RnG and understanding of what to sell and for how much is what's killing me. I know there are tools for that but they are kinda daunting to use which has deterred me from doing so. It doesn't help that I have zero friends who play this game and I've been unable to convince any so I've only ever played it alone which has resulted in more suffering.
The biggest key to survival are your resistances and stacking life. I collect all currencies because I craft but Chaos, Regal, and Exalted Orbs are the most commonly used currencies. I've made quite a few guides at this point on currencies and builds, hopefully some of them can explain in better detail information that may be helpful. It is a very complicated game, but once it begins to click things get waaaay easier. It's like coding, it seems impossible at first but once you catch on it all seems to make sense.
@@BullShifter Thanks for the advice. I've watched several of your videos (and many others as well). I do also pick up all currency and what not. But I still have the same problem I described previously. I know/understand that life & resist are number one priority. However my RNG is terrible (even with a decent amount of +drop rate %). I also just cannot stand how the trade system works on console. I will put in offers for stuff I can afford and then I'm stuck waiting sometimes SEVERAL days/weeks just for my offer to get rejected. They need to add an instant buyout option! It just seems that with every character I've made I hit a hard point where I get into the later acts and cannot for the life of me get any gear that is worthwhile to drop. That said, maybe here is a question you can answer. I get that life/resist are key...so in that regard, do I literally sacrifice every other stat (while leveling) on gear? I know I need to make sure I have enough STR/INT/DEX to use my gear/gems and what not. But, for example if my cold resist was only at 25% (others are maxed) and I pick up an item that has +30% cold resist but in equipping it, I'm going to lose...lets say 10% fire/lighning resist, 30 life, and 20 of a primary stat, do I equip that item?
@@ProfessorHubertFarnsworth Primary stats are nice, but if you have enough to equip your gems I would sacrifice them to get your resist up. You can also craft resists on items at your hideout on the crafting bench. That's how I typically get my resists up to where I need them without having to pay crazy prices in the trade market. As long as you have less than 3 suffix modifiers on an item you can craft a resist on it. Getting 75% resist in all three is the first priority for any build so unfortunately you may have to sacrifice other stats in order to get there.
@@BullShifter Ok thanks. I have not touched the Crafting Bench at all. I looked at it once months ago, had no idea what I was really seeing, and have not went back to it since. I have another question regarding gem quality. I can plainly see what improving the quality of armor/weapons, but what does improving the quality of a gem actually do? I assumed it would increase the base damage/stats but I don't think that's right. For instance, I have an Ice Crash gem that's level 1 and another level 1 Ice Crash gem but it has 16% improved quality. However all the stats on it appear to be the same. Does gem quality just mean it's going to like....level up faster or will receive a greater increase per level or something else entirely?
@@ProfessorHubertFarnsworth Gem quality typically adds one additional modifier to the gem itself that has a stat increase for each level of quality that is on it.
The requirements is one aspect but, also if you look at end game build, cast when damage taken is a very common passive gem in most builds. As cast when damage taken levels up, the damage you need to take for it to trigger goes up. That is not a good thing as you want the skill, in lots of cases Immortal Call, to activate as many times as possible or with the least amount of health lost.
Great video!!! Love that you help us beginners with these basics that NO ONE ELSE explains!!!

I've been doing a bit of experimenting in the mines. I'm hoping to have enough for a video soon.
@@BullShifter Yes, please let us know when you make this video!
Do the lines need to be connecting the sockets in order for a support gem to be active? Or can it just be in the same piece of gear to be active?
They need to be connected to support the skill gem
Thanks man, do you think you could explain the synthesizer?
I have a video planned for later today regarding the nexus, I'll cover dome of the basics of the synthesizer in that video as well.
