buying the rtr and then replacing wheels/tires, electronics, prob some of the other hardware, I think it would be still less capable and more expensive than going through a kit to get a good rig to comp with others at that level; unless the rules are only rtrs.

less capable yes… I don’t think it would be more expensive. But this would be a good truck to start with before dumping a boat load of money into a full blown comp rig. I see people buying this truck and doing a few low cost upgrades and getting in reach of winning a comp.
I’m going to change to metal wheels and inserts and that will be enough for what I will use it for

Hard for me to trust the redcat….i like what they did but just wonder if you run this rig hard regularly if it will hold up as well as the axial or elements….or the Vanquish etc of the world.
