Thank you SO MUCH for this pertinent information! We have a lot in common bro! I'm a late bloomer trying to get in the SYNC game who's ALSO from Chicago. I really connect with you more than a lot of the other sync gurus on UA-cam because you give it straight no chaser! Your videos are a true source of motivation and inspiration for me to give it my best while not overthinking it. This video ESPECIALLY I find to be very helpful. I am already a member of ASCAP and have a Dropbox but I will follow ALL of these instructions with this easy to understand way you laid everything out! Salute to a REAL ONE!
So then you know "It's time for the Percolater" LOL. I'm glad you found the info helpful. Good luck on getting into your first music production library.
Hands down the BEST video I've found on this subject to date! It was such a slog to find someone who actually breaks it down into actionable steps that are easy to understand. You rock, dude! ✌❤🤘
This is the clearest road map to approaching music libraries I've ever seen. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing information that you earned, no doubt this knowledge didn't come overnight but through years of work, smart thinking and creativity. I hope other viewers Really understand the value of what you've given, i don't doubt that none of it was gained easily. I certainly do appreciate it. It came at EXACTLY the right moment for me, just when I needed it. 🙏👍
I'm glad the road map is clear. I tried to simplify my process and how I got into sync years ago. Even though their isn't a "right way" to get into sync. I believe most people lack a process and system and that's what keeps them stuck.
Today I start my journey in sync licensing I’m on step 3 so far! Music’s always been my passion I’ll be back to update my progress in about 90-180 days from now thanks for this gem video bro it’s a blessing & good luck to anyone just starting we all will blossom 1️⃣💙
Thank you so much for the video!! So much good information in here😄 Question, if im not from the U.S can i still use ascap or bmi or any of those platforms? Thank you!
You have to use the PRO of the country that you are in but it depends. I currently live in Canada but was able to sign up for USA PRO's because I lived there first and signed up there. Check for the country you live in and see what groups collect royalties.
Good information. I've been rapping for over 40 years and have accumulated lots of songs. I'm going to sort through them, revamp if necessary and start submitting to licensing companies. Thanks "Imp the Great"
Thanks so much for providing this info. It's the main thing I was lacking, and followed the steps as you laid-out. As you said, I'm going to try to get it down to one genre. I write in multiple genres and styles from around the world, so to get this started, I will get it down to one - sports anthems seem to come the easiest to me, so thinking of starting with that. Thanks again, awesome video and looking forward to future content.
You won't be able to collect a part of your royalties if you're not signed up with a PRO. However, there are some music libraries like Epidemic Sound who don't want you to be apart of a PRO. They pay up front for your music. But If you want to get into sync I would suggest signing up for a PRO.
Yes that's ok. Most of the time you can only sign up with the PRO in your country. I don't know much about Soundreef but if that's one of the PRO's in Italy then you will be fine.
I thought I mentioned it in the video but I probably skipped over it since most of my audience is from the US. You need to look up your country and what they use as a PRO. Every country has one. You'll have to registrar with them. So follow the same step but use the PRO where you are located.
Quick question... do I need to get an isrc code for the Beats I make? It seems like the only way to get these is through distributors, or paying 95$ which I don't have at the moment.
What are trying to do with those beats? If you're trying to sell to artist you won't need a ISRC until you make a song you're trying to sell. I got my music into distributors without an ISRC code. if you're trying to use your beats for sync licensing you don't need an ISRC code.
@beatbuildersstudio thank you so much for your response, it seems like so few people actually answer their comments, I'm trying to get it into sync libraries, non exclusive, because I do have the hope that someday an artist will want to pick something up, I can hear artists singing or rapping to my songs, I'd do it myself but you don't want to hear that. Do you recommend I use a distributor like distrokid or one of the free ones just to have the isrc just in case? It sometimes seems so far fetched that I second guess myself, but I gotta let my songs take flight, I want to be heard! It sometimes feels like deciding on a career. It's hard to choose, that's why I didn't go too far with those type beats concept, it's like I'm not making beats for one person, I'm making lots of beats for whoever wants to hop on and make something great. My mind is everywhere with this. I need guidance someone to hear what I have and let me know go here, do this, this is what you want, this is what you're capable of, do this. You're that guy, thank you for your videos!
Thank You for Your time.A lot of information .I have a question about EMI ,ASAP. Im not from USA.Its worldwide organization or i have registered my song first in my country in similar organization like ZAiKS in my country Poland. I would like be a worldwidewhat is best solution ?
If ZAIKS is like ASCAP, BMI etc. They collect royalties worldwide. For instance I'm with ASCAP. They collect royalties from all other countries. So you should be fine but check with ZAIKS.

Thank you so much that was super helpful! but i was wondering is it mandatory to be signed to a PRO in order to work in sync?

Hi! Thanks for this video! Is it okay if I sign up with the PRO in my country? I live in Italy and I’m already registered with Soundreef.
Yes that's ok. Most of the time you can only sign up with the PRO in your country. I don't know much about Soundreef but if that's one of the PRO's in Italy then you will be fine.
Step 1 ✅…but I only signed up for the writers only didn’t know that the writers/publisher were separate accounts
Signing up for the writers is ok. I started out as only a writer. I eventually signed up as a publisher when I created my own publishing company.
Bro what about people from Europe ?? is this ascap bmi thing a must or can it be skipped ?
