    I strictly did Whole 30 last year for a month and my body felt great, I felt great, every thing was great. But girl, on that 31st day I bout ate a Whole Pizza and my body hit me with that "bish whet?" 🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️ So yeah y'all, don't be like me. smh
    The biggest lesson for me though was noticing just how much unnecessary sugar is in the food we consume and being more mindful of that. Also, getting into the habit of cooking and incorporating more whole foods.
    Loved this video! You about to make me go dust off my Whole 30 cookbook! #SmackYoLip

      Yea that’s the thing about diets like this tho they are great for uping your nutrition game they are soo hard to keep up because they are different from how your normally eat so usually most people end up going back to their old diet. Best way if you ask me (and I’m a nutritionist with a science degree 👅 #streetcred) is to s l o w l y make little changes to how you normally eat until maybe it looks “whole”. So for example I used to looove peanut butter on toast for breakfast and porridge - now I just have the toast with peanut butter topped with celery and cut out the porridge 🤗 simple small little changes like that all through out my diet and I’ve lost almost 5 kgs!

    Allergic to eggs so yeah...whole 30 is frustrating, to say the least. Mr. Hallease is also against cauliflower rice on a spiritual level. "Don't call it rice! Just call it ground cauliflower"

    • @PheOfTheFae
      @PheOfTheFae 6 років тому +48

      "Riced cauliflower" is actually the "proper" term because there's a tool called a "potato ricer" - which if you were doing it yourself, you'd be using to "rice" the cauliflower. So it's an adjective or a verb and not a noun, traditionally, when speaking of doing it to some other food. It was only when ricing cauliflower became a popular grain alternative that it started getting used like a noun "cauliflower rice."
      Sorry I internet comment trivia'd there. LOL

    I did whole30 for a month before transitioning to Keto! I obviously don’t know if I lost weight on whole30 since you’re not supposed to weigh yourself but i did notice grains were the culprit and dairy didn’t make me feel great either but I won’t give up cheese! Since Keto I’ve lost 70 lbs. whole30 is a great starting point since the goal isn’t weight loss, it’s just about what foods make you feel your best

      I learned how to eat cauliflower rice this way: If you use frozen kind, defrost, use a collander and spoon to get out as much water as possible. Put olive or avocado oil in frying pan, throw in cauliflower. Add in Himalayan salt, green herbs or Italian herbs, toasted onion, and lots of cumen. Keep mixing. Very tasty!

    This diet has a lot of overlap with my food allergies-avoiding diet (since it seems like a quasi-elimination diet, that makes sense) and I just got to the part where you talk about sugar in sauces. I'm not allergic to sugar (thank the Gods) but I am to corn, which IS the sugar in a lot of those (in the form of HFCS or just corn syrup, plain). So yeah - I make almost all my condiments myself. Once you get used to doing it, it's not as big of a pain as it sounds because they last. Plus, they often taste better and are cheaper. And you feel like you belong on Food Network, which is a bonus. :)

    This is the best Whole30 video I’ve found. Thank you for being honest and relatable and just plain real about it. You didn’t have super intricate food choices and you made comments about needing cheese and the texture of the rice. I’ve seen so many videos that seem like ads for the program and they never say anything negative or really relatable. You’re reaction to kale chips made me laugh. I had the SAME response. I don’t know if I like these, but I’m still eating them. PS. They do NOT keep long at all.

    This was so funny, entertaining and informative! I've done three Whole30s and loved how I felt after, lost several pounds (was 130 now am 123 and I'm 5'3") and best of all gained tons of mental clarity, stabilized mood, energy, and 'depuffed' my body and face. You should do a whole month of Whole30 because I gained so many recipe ideas and wanted to do another one after watching. Plus you are hilarious.

    This is wonderful, I can so relate! I started Whole30 a week ago, what I miss most is fruit (not supposed to eat unless incorporated in a meal), both fresh and crushed into my wine glass! Fortunately I love veggies, been roasting up lots of veg and potatoes, throw them in a salad and it's great. I watched this while eating my salad with some chicken added, since the chicken & sweet potato chili I thought I defrosted was really stuffed cabbage soup - and it's got rice in it! Thanks for the laughs, I'll definitely be watching more of your videos!

    You just made me watch AND enjoy a diet video: that's sorcery right there!!! 🤣👍 on a more serious note though, I already have my fair share of issues with food (diet, emotional, binge eating...) so anything that starts with "don't eat that" is a recipe for disaster to me. I'm trying to figure out a realistic long term strategy for when I'm out there exhausted, depressed, anxious, surrounded by extra fat, extra sweet comfort food. Also I don't like cooking. So, the struggle is real!

      Think of it as a slight lifestyle change not a “diet”. everything in moderation. think of what your goals are-maybe some weight loss but also just trying to feel better 💜 and don’t punish yourself if you slip up ✨

    With meals, we could always drink as much as we wanted to drink. At home, milk was usually served. At one set of grandparent's home, it was water, tea, or milk - and at the other set of grandparent's home, it was water, milk, prune juice, or Pepsi. Funnily enough, we usually waited until 3/4 of the way through our meals until we reached for liquids. Thanksgiving still is the exception. You drink water and/or wine with the meal because the food is so rich. Our family didn't buy alot of juice (besides prune), so juice was considered a "treat."
