It never dies if they really know that they are playing to glorify the real God. Just look at Flamme Kapaya as an example mate. He is now in church and plays better than before cz he’s now in Jesus Christ. With God nothing is impossible.
There are no books on congolese guitar playing. I've never seen any. In Congo, people learn mainly from each other. If you don't have anyone to practice with, just listen to your favourite song, on CD and try to play along. If you do this long enough, with different songs, eventually you'll get that "feeling" in your pick hand. That's what I've been doing, and it's really paying back!
