When I lived in Japan (Tokyo and Kyoto) it was easy for me to get a 3 year twice.. I lived there for 6 years. I loved taking trips to Osaka,Fukuoka,Nagoya and Hiroshima for prayers. Sometimes I wish I never left and stayed there.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss... I know some reply text on a screen from a stranger doesn’t do anything, but I am so sorry. My heart aches for you and your family and I hope in time you heal together knowing that your mother is watching over you lovingly. I’m still in pain over the loss of my stepdad a few years ago and I cry over him, but it has gotten slightly easier in a way where I generally only remember the rosy wonderful times I had with him. It’s never easy, but it will get better little by little over time. My thoughts are with you and your family.

@@reinascully thank you from the bottom of my broken heart, my old friend. never think of yourself as a stranger, you showed me support when i was still posting my videos on here. i will always continue to do the same for you. my mom used to watch some of your vlogs. she said one day she would have loved to have gone back to japan again cause she used to travel all over world when she attended lots of doll conventions and toy shows. she always told me how proud she was of me. just thinking about her now. makes it hurt more.
thank you for your kind words and love and support, Reina. be sure to give your mom a big hugs for the both of us and wish her happy mother's day for me as well.

I've been to Iwami in Tottori three times for a pilgrimage to visit the locations from Free! and the town are really proud to be the inspiration for it. The grandpas and grandmas are adorable. They always help me out and walk me to the locations even though I tell them it's alright and I don't want them to walk far. The local bakery also makes breads and cookies inspired by Free! and the owners remember me too. Its a really nice, sweet and calming place to be. I can't wait to go back.

Former resident of Shizuoka city here! I've checked out a handful of your videos because youtube recommended them to me and thankfully, this one also landed on my feed. Even though you didn't show a lot, it was super exciting to see glimpses of the city again after all those years of not being able to return (was planning to finally visit again last year and then the Rona happened...). Cenova was pretty much my go to place for my year abroad, I went there almost everyday, to shop, to eat or to watch movies, so that part of the video was oddly emotional 😂 I also remember going to Gotemba once (I think it was during a trip to Izu?) and I actually happen to be a Pokemon Store enthusiast too! I still have my little acrylic charm Fujisan Pikachu, even though one ear sadly broke a few years ago.
Coming from a small village in Germany, Shizuoka never felt that rural to me 😂 But I did use every chance to do something, so maybe that's why it never got boring. We also used to also go to the nearby towns and cities sometimes, like Fujinomiya, Kakegawa and Hamamatsu and I still have so much to see within the prefecture alone when I can finally go back! So thanks so much for this little insight into my former home these days ❤️ Hope your family enjoys their presents, they're all super pretty. And also, gotta love that Pokemon merch, I also own some Pokemon center kitchenware, the designs are just ridiculously cute!

I enjoyed the video, Reina; I always enjoy your videos, you have a delightful personality. I love your glasses, also. And, yeah, that pokemon "handkerchief" is really cute; it'll look even cuter with your snot all over it. I was stationed in Okinawa for a year and a half in the early 2000s. I liked the Okinawa, in retrospect, I wish I explored more. Also, went to the aquarium in Sasebo on a liberty day from a naval ship, and bar hopping, which was my first time getting drunk. Good times.

The first time I went to Japan it was the beginning of June but still super cold in Tokyo. My friend and I spent and hour walking around looking for a vending machine that had warm drinks. She thought I was making it up so that motivated me even more to find one. Sadly we didn't find one that night. Settled for a 7-11 that had. However the next day we did find one outside of a train station in Odaiba!

Hey Reina, I bought the UA sports mask, but with The Rock's branding (and more expensive lol). It's cool, but I kind of hate the ear loops. They're such thin fabric, and they tend to roll up on themselves, if that makes sense. And it sits fairly low on my nose. I'd say really, really look into the sizing if you want one--I had to have a bigger size sent to me. The actual mask portion is pretty good.

I don't know what going rate for masks are in Japan but in the US, licensed and unlicensed masks tend to go for about $10 USD. Regular masks can be a few dollars less and of course disposables are like $20 for a 50 pack. I get the feeling since masks aren't a traditionally normal thing they tend to charge more. Fancy ones that are higher quality with bells and whistles are about $25.

Is it considered “weird” vlogging in Japan or is it more common like it is an LA?

Been by there but haven't stopped. would like to (once things settle down at work and stuff. "Shizu" means calm and "oka" means hills. I pretty sure I'm correct on that. Beautiful countryside. Despite the population and density, Japan's got great countryside and open space.

The problem with mint anything is you can really only eat so much of it before you feel like you drank a whole bottle of mouth wash 🤢🤢

in Germany we have peppermint flavoured liquor, my dad got so sick drinking that shit that he had to start using strawberry flavoured kids toothpaste so he wouldn't puke when he brushed his teeth.

If Mike reads this, you have a very beautiful and funny wife. You are lucky to have someone like her. I wish I had a wife just like Reina. Someone who loves anime/manga, comics, and action movies. I lost my wife to drugs. She still lives. But I lost a person I thought would be with me for the rest of our lives. I have been so lonely for the past 5+ years. I have been sad because of it and depressed. It hurts being alone.
