Welcome to SEASON 2!! We’re beyond excited to be back, sharing life with our newest little co-host, Baby Reggie! 👶🏻💙
We’re inviting you right into our baby bubble for this very special first episode. For the first time we will be sharing our birthing story-let’s just say it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing, but we want to open and honest with you all. It was tough, but now we’ve got our beautiful boy, Reggie, and he’s worth every second.
And of course, we’ll be tackling the big questions like: Who will Reggie laugh at first? Is he a velcro baby? And... what is he smelling like these days?

I love them as a couple. I love how much Cam loves her and he is being a great dad 😭😭
Birth trauma is so real. I had a massive placental abruption at 36 weeks, woke up with blood flowing down the sides of my bed. Obviously went into emergency c section but had to be put under general anesthesia. Going to sleep not knowing if you’re going to wake up again, or if you do and your baby doesn’t, is a feeling I will never forget. Thankfully me and baby girl are both here, but the trauma stays with you.

Watching this is so raw, I’m so sorry it didn’t go as planned. Birth trauma is so real and so raw, it effects you both so much more than you actually realise ❤ you can do everything right, read every book and it doesn’t always go as planned I know that myself ❤ make sure you speak to the after thoughts services if you haven’t already to get the closure ❤❤
It’s so sweet watching parents just smile and talk about their babies funny faces and poops and noises. Watching your eyes light up just speaking about him is the best. You can see the pure ultimate love for what youve created. And get to know him more and more each day :) 😊

Thank you so much for sharing. I know this can be very traumatic but it’s so important for other people to hear the real truths behind birth. Making this information so accessible is wonderful but once again I’m so sorry for everything you went through.

Emily, I'm crying watching this. I can't express how much I relate to your pregnancy. I went through the same week long, seeing midwives come and go, endless pain relief and little memory of the birth I went from 4 to 10cm and rushed to surgery because of 4th degree tear... I don't remember a thing... all I remember was the moment I stepped outside the hospital after seven days inside i fell to the floor on my knees in tears just because the fresh air hit my face. I look at my lanky little seven year old now and think how lucky I am... please know you're not alone, I also felt after that nothing could have prepared me for the reality as its just something you can't compare... the gas and air was great but lasted verrryyyyy little. I had fairy lights, the room with the pool... used none of it... Harry was born whilst I squatted over the bed and fell out and the button was pressed and about 10 doctors ran in... omg nothing will ever ever compare and it really does put the world into perspective. Keep strong xxxx

Birth Trauma is so real. But the immediate switch into mom mode is also so real. When they placed my daughter into my chest and she cried- all the pain, all the anxiety- just melted away and nothing else mattered but holding her, latching her, and watching her breathe. And yes, you would do it all again because they are worth every second of the pain. ❤️Beautiful story. Beautiful couple. Lovely family.

I am so so proud of you. Watching this video reminded me of my birth story which was almost 100% the same as yours.. but my partner was not allowed to stay with me during labor.. only when I had the c-section. I stayed in labor with huuuuge pain form almost 24 hours and then I had to get a c-section because it was so much stress for the baby and my body. During the c-section I had a panic attack and I was shaking like crazy. I remember I couldn’t stop my hands and my mouth from shaking (I couldn’t feel the rest of my body). My husband was there to hold my hand, thank god. It was so traumatic.. my baby got an 8 on the apgar score because he was so so tiny and he didn’t breathe/cry the first seconds he came out. Now, almost a year later, my baby is the happiest baby ever, he is so bubbly all the time, he checks all the milestones. Honestly I just forgot that I went through all that pain and suffer and I would go through it all over again just for my little baby. Birth is an amazing experience even though for some is traumatic.
But I am so proud of you. You are the best parents for your baby. ❤️

How wild our birth stories are so similar. I shook a lot going into the operating room for my cesarean as well, uncontrollably. Almost looked like I was seizing. After lots of research I have found it is totally normal/ common. I am so sorry your birth didn't go according to plan. But how worth it, you got that beautiful baby!

As a student midwife working on Labour ward at the moment this breaks my heart for you that you had this experience. And not even in the way of your bleeding/ dilation etc - you were scared! To hear you say things such as you had to beg or about the pain being so bad and dying! I’m so sorry for this and this is the care I am so passionate about not giving !
Does your hospital have a birth reflections service try and look into this and see as it would really help x
And cam thank you so much for talking about birth trauma for partners aswell because it’s so important to raise awareness to it - you’re a team at the end of the day!
