Do you think the teacher manual is a necessity or would this be okay without one? I've got three kiddos and the teachers manuals are like $100 each :(
This is so great! Thanks for sharing what you use. Lots of ideas for me here. I have twin boys in K. I definitely want to look into the summit ministrys one more. How long ish does a lesson take per day? But I also want to do the laying down your rails. Would you recommend one over the other for boys with short attention span? Also love the gratitude journals!
Both of my boys are low on attention haha!! One lesson can take us 15-30 mins, depending if I do ALL the activities in the lesson. Sometimes, I'll skip an activity depending on the kids attention span, lol. It can look a little overwhelming when you're looking at everything, but it's really not. There's some things you can condense, or if you feel like playing the songs later, like maybe over lunch or snack.
Laying down the rails is fantastic, but it's not a bible curriculum, so I wouldn't use it in PLACE of bible. We do it maybe 2 times a week in our morning basket. We just cover a couple of the lessons, so it's a consistent "touch-base" on that particular habit.
Love all this curriculum and suggestions. Can you link where you received the scriptures of the day for the loving trait etc? We also have a 5 and 7 yr old minus the twins:) I enjoy your content

I know you probably don’t have experience with this. But I am trying to do bible with all 4 of my kids as well, and we have a large age range. I don’t want to go too easy for my 4th grader, but also don’t want to skip ahead too much for my 4 year old. Right now, I’m feeling like maybe 1st grade would be a good place for us to start the Summit study. We have 9, 7, 4, and 2 year olds. We just finished the 1st grade level for Christian Light Education, and it seemed to work well for us. But, again, I don’t want them to miss anything either. Do you have advice?
Can you please tell me more about this? Do the kids get to do the workbook everyday and how many lessons are in the workbook?
Ohhhh I love the look of this summit bible curriculum. Is it 4 lessons per week? I have a soon to be 2nd grader and very early kg. Do you think I should start at 1st grade level?
When we started, my kids were "new" 5's (June bday), and "new" 7's (July bday). And since we had never really stuck to a bible curriculum, I just wanted to start them with the beginning. Even if it was a little easier with the worksheets. I wanted to make sure they really understood the importance of the relationship with Jesus. You could probably start with the Grade 1 level and be fine! I would go to their website and see if there are samples from the grade 1 book. We are really loving it!!
I have been looking for a new Wednesday night curriculum for our Church's elementary children. DO you think this could be adapted for that. Or is it too much to cover? Would there be easy divisions so that it could even be used on wednesday, sunday school, and children's church???
This could easily be used for a Wednesday night curriculum! I personally would love to see something like this used in all churches because it really gives you a direction and teaching you. Sometimes I feel like in kids church, even older kids, just color, play games, or sing songs. While that’s all great and fun and a time to bond- I would love to see more LEARNING of the gospel take place.
Have you done the next year of this curriculum?
