I got one of these half off at Home Depot about 5 days before Christmas, however by the time I found this and decided I wanted it they were completely sold out in my area so I located a floor model almost 3 hours away and my mom went with me to go get it lol. It is a pretty neat tree.

@@hans-petter5924 you're welcome, but a slight correction: I used 250 lights but didn't put them all on the tree. I spread them around elsewhere in the room, but again for your tree 400 should be perfect.
@Sean Ingram so I got ours at the black friday sale. I think it was $275. I think some people found it for walmart for less around christmas or post christmas, but they make different style of trees for different stores I have learned

is there an option within the app to cycle through multiple effects at a time to make a light show? If not, do you think they will add that option soon?
I just bought my first Twinkly tree this at Walmart for $289 but with tax it was $307.10 and I absolutely love it... it’s a 7.5ft Vermont Spruce... did u know that the tree it’s self has it’s own WiFi... racoonzattack correct. We needed a new tree and lights this year and when we bought it, it was on sale and not much more than all the comparable trees we were looking at
Curious to see if this lasts. I bought a prelit tree with a simple microcontroller and handheld remote and I've warrantied it twice, now it's out of warranty and this year it's once again broken. HD sells such junk now a days.
It should. the company seems great to work with. I had a few tell me it only lasted a few years, but its such a new tree I find that hard to believe. Twinkly seems like a good company to work with as well, but if the lights go out I can always just swap them out for other lights too.
yeah I think so. My tree has 3 strands on it. I don't know how many strands can be mapped but mine works great. you can contact twinkly directly to see if there are issues here
Alright this year I've decided to up my game with the Christmas lights and I bought 400 + 250 strings. Set them up flat and I was super impressed with the whole thing. I have no idea. I have never understood the rotating stands with cords. However when mapping the lights for patterns, moving or rotating the tree would affect the pattern if you were doing stripes or a design. I have my tree in a corner and if you walk to the wall, you can see the pattern isn't as crisp as if you were sitting on the couch and it actually can look really weird because you are viewing the stripes moving from the side (hope that makes sense). You have to program the app to learn where you view the tree from best (mapping). I don't think a rotating stand would work with the lights unless you just did twinkle lights or solid.

Only one thing that's annoying is I'm having the tree once a month lol. But with this tree I would leave it out all year lol. Has it got a mic for music mode 😍
Do they just released a music plug in. We are setting up the trees tonight and hopefully I’ll get to play around with the music adapter and maybe make another video showing it
Lasse Manninen 😂. Yeah you’re right. There is an indicator light on the power adapter to show it has power and is I think greenish, meaning good to go. On the adapter you can also select 5 or so manual setting.

Did you find that wrapping the outside of the tree is all that was needed? I had planned to wrap the branches completely as I wrap around the tree for a fuller light effect. Thanks for a great video.
Agree. There's actually a lot of Christmas decorations especially the blow up Halloween & Christmas ones that cost more than shoes clothes a sports toys etc. It's only a matter of time where phones might operate the blow up Christmas Arches and Christmas Globes too. So yeah, I agree 100%
@@Julie-jq1sy yeah and the prices are exorbitant sometimes. like hello I need to buy gifts too? what am I gonna do if i spend 200 dollars on lightings?
I’ve seen comments saying people have bought some from John Lewis but I should imagine this may be a seasonal item as no items showed in the JL app when I searched for ‘Twinkly’ Their (Twinkly) website also has a list of places to buy but it seems a bit hit and miss as it sent me to the USA Amazon (with no sellers sending to the UK) There are resellers on Amazon UK but their prices vary hugely and I couldn’t see any mention of which generation lights they were selling.
Is the only way to turn the lights on our off on your phone? And can more than one phone be connected to the tree? We hate a dark tree, so wondering what happens if the person with the app isn’t home.
You can manually turn it on at a spot near where it plugs into the wall. You can set it on a timer through the app if I remember so it comes on at certain times. I paired mine with Alexa so too turn the tree on all I have to do is ask her. Doesn’t matter if the person is home. And yea we paired the tree to both my phone and my wife’s phone.
I’d reach out to Twinkly or search their site for the instructions. Mine came already set up and connected. Just had to plug it in and sync with the app
Some of the lights don’t light up with mapping on the old app. The update last year you would map the tree from different angles trying to get most of the bulbs active. I haven’t looked at the app this year for what updates they have
Did you get this from Home Depot. Does it have the lights wrapped around the branches, or singly barber polled around like you would string them yourself?
probably a dumb question as i dont know?. just purchased our first fiber optic tree the other day from wonderful walmart. lol do you have to have a settings box connected to your tree? to get the app with different settings?
@@Svenddiesel yeah i noticed that when i went on their faceook that they have their own lights. lol its a pre lit fier optic tree with just 2 settings. im wondering, if i could get some kind of box with a remote....?
I got mine on sale. I stopped in Home Depot the other day and depending on the size of tree it was $500 plus. You can also just buy the lights and put them on whatever tree you want
Are these "stay-lit" lights? Like if one burns out does it kill a chunk of the tree? That's what infuriates me about prelit trees, and it's almost impossible to track which needs to be changed because they're all twisted up in there!
I’d reach out to Twinkly. My experience with led lights is one going out doesn’t affect it. However their life expectancy is much longer than traditional lights. I’m sure they would have info on their site
is there any way you could send me a picture of the plug or connection for your tree? i bought my tree last year after christmas and there is no plug. i have contacted home depot but bc i do not have my receipt they can not help me. i was trying to see if i could just purchase a cord but have no idea what im looking for.

How wide is the bottom cause this looks amazing and home Depot doesn't give you any information about that
Hopefully getting it out today but I’m sure the trees offered this year are different than mine
That’s the coolest freaking thing!!

Great. There goes the gift cards I got for xmas. Now I have to wait a full year to use it lol
KryptoKonvict just leave it up all year and do all the holiday themes
The lights look cool but how do the branches look? Does it look like pipe cleaners or a mix of of plastic branches?
It is a fake tree
There is this one bluelight at the bottom which glitched and stayed on till last
thats on the power hub
Are you still getting on with these lights? I'm thinking of purchasing some this year!
Yup. Both trees powered up great
All them effects are fucking epic. You was literally drawing and erasing on your tree in real time lol 😍. Could have made text even. Xmas. Does ebay and Amazon sell them. Only one thing that's annoying is I'm having the tree once a month lol. But with this tree I would leave it out all year lol. Has it got a mic for music mode 😍
Do they just released a music plug in. We are setting up the trees tonight and hopefully I’ll get to play around with the music adapter and maybe make another video showing it
@@Svenddiesel thanks man and great review.
Just bought some , so excited to use them ....yayyyyyy
Wonderful!
can you make it steady non blinking classic red green blue and orange, red green blue orange etc, string?? ty!
You can create a thousand different color combos. As for the exact combination you are looking for I think that with some time you could create it.
One lonely blue is allways lit?
Lasse Manninen 😂. Yeah you’re right. There is an indicator light on the power adapter to show it has power and is I think greenish, meaning good to go. On the adapter you can also select 5 or so manual setting.
@@Svenddiesel hi, the tree is full 3D , the tree leaves...?
Lasse Manninen why is that blue there when it’s off there’s one blue why
Who makes the tree and where did you buy it? I found a bunch of knock off versions.
Twinkly makes them. I got both mine at Home Depot. I know Walmart had them last year too
Ooo I wish I had one of those Christmas tree cause it looks cool and pretty❤️❤️

Did you find that wrapping the outside of the tree is all that was needed? I had planned to wrap the branches completely as I wrap around the tree for a fuller light effect. Thanks for a great video.
You could do that. Mine came pre wrapped so I didn’t have to wrap it.
The lights itself cost more than my own christmas gift
Anyone have a link for cheaper lights that do similar effects? Not necessarily with WiFi/Bluetooth but just like rainbow glow etc?
@@no_peace scroll up, I posted one
Some people have the _audacity_ to call these affordable...
Awesome! Can I set a steady, one colored light too?
Yup. Pretty much any color you want too
@@Svenddiesel and what's the power consumption of the string? I can't find this info anywhere:-(
It absolutely fantastic hello form Ireland 🇮🇪☘️👍💯
Francie Stokes hello back from the USA. Thank you
Wish they had this in the UK, I adore it. I need it :)
247haych i would think you could order them in the uk. It’s an Italian company
I’ve seen comments saying people have bought some from John Lewis but I should imagine this may be a seasonal item as no items showed in the JL app when I searched for ‘Twinkly’
Their (Twinkly) website also has a list of places to buy but it seems a bit hit and miss as it sent me to the USA Amazon (with no sellers sending to the UK)
There are resellers on Amazon UK but their prices vary hugely and I couldn’t see any mention of which generation lights they were selling.
Is this the Aspen classic ? I see that at Costco 300 off now at 699
Not sure. I got it at Home Depot a few years back not Costco
It would be nice if you included a link with particular tree
I did, but by February the link was invalid because Home Depot doesn’t carry christmas trees year round.
Yeah I didn't think of that. Thank you
Beautiful 🎄
Is the only way to turn the lights on our off on your phone? And can more than one phone be connected to the tree? We hate a dark tree, so wondering what happens if the person with the app isn’t home.
You can manually turn it on at a spot near where it plugs into the wall. You can set it on a timer through the app if I remember so it comes on at certain times. I paired mine with Alexa so too turn the tree on all I have to do is ask her. Doesn’t matter if the person is home. And yea we paired the tree to both my phone and my wife’s phone.
Oof I get that it's on sale right now but that original price is... yikes..
TALKINGtac0 $250 isn’t bad. I thought it was gonna be $800. You get to re-use so eventually you’ll save money.
@@axebeard7677 No yeah but it's 250 because it's on sale. The original price was about 500 if I remember correctly
its $400 2 yrs later :)
Coolest tree ever I need one
It’s a lot of fun for sure
How do we hook up 2 or more sets? I'm trying to surprise Hubby by doing it myself but Instruction manual is confusing me. 🎄Tfs
I’d reach out to Twinkly or search their site for the instructions. Mine came already set up and connected. Just had to plug it in and sync with the app
@@Svenddiesel Thats a great idea! Thanks 👍🏻Cool!
I would LOVE to have those lights
Hello sir, please tell me I use my light and connect app but what box is connected to light ? And where to get?
jose leon it’s called the Twinkly app and you use Twinkly lights. Just google Twinkly lights or Twinkly Christmas tree to see where to buy
Hey if you want to not have it blinking all the time can you turn off the blinking? I’m thinking of getting this tree.
If I remember right you can do solid
Awesome tree. Unfortunately, if that company goes out of business, eventually the app would be no longer supported and no more tree.
vidmonkey yeah that’s a risk with any product. There is a manual mode at the plug that runs 5 settings
@@Svenddiesel True. That's good to know they designed in that feature. Thanks for the reply.
you could do it yourself with an adafruit feather nrf52840 and adafruit neopixels. I am not endorsing adafruit, I just think their products are cool
AnythingKid123 thanks for commenting. Always good to know what else is out there
Does only one side of the tree light up? What happens on the side facing away from the camera?
Some of the lights don’t light up with mapping on the old app. The update last year you would map the tree from different angles trying to get most of the bulbs active. I haven’t looked at the app this year for what updates they have
How big is that tree? Would the 600 lights cover a 7.5 feet tree? Or should i get the smaller package? Also how long does the bulbs last?
This is the 7.5 foot tree with 600 count
All I'm seeing is the lights, do they not sale a pre lit tree with them already on it?
They do. Maybe not this time of year. Check around October
Did you get this from Home Depot. Does it have the lights wrapped around the branches, or singly barber polled around like you would string them yourself?
Yes. Around the branches
probably a dumb question as i dont know?. just purchased our first fiber optic tree the other day from wonderful walmart. lol do you have to have a settings box connected to your tree? to get the app with different settings?
I have the Twinkly lights that pair with the Twinkly app. Not sure what your lights pair with
@@Svenddiesel yeah i noticed that when i went on their faceook that they have their own lights. lol its a pre lit fier optic tree with just 2 settings. im wondering, if i could get some kind of box with a remote....?
What is the base diameter? And if need be, can it be squished into a corner to save some room?
You’d have to look it up on Their side. I don’t know
Are the lights part of the tree or added to the tree. What happens if dumb bulbs burn out over the years?
dunno about a bulb going out, but most led lights that shouldn't matter. They were part of the tree when I purchased it.
amazing tree ....wow .....create your own lights , very cool :-)) wonder about the price
I got mine on sale. I stopped in Home Depot the other day and depending on the size of tree it was $500 plus. You can also just buy the lights and put them on whatever tree you want
Nice video.. one question can you dime the lights so cant be to bright??
I can’t remember. Google it or we plan to get the tree out tomorrow and I can check
Can you set it so that one colour stay on and it does twinkle? I really just want white lights.
I believe so
Are these "stay-lit" lights?
I don’t have my trees out yet for the year. I’d contact Twinkly via social media. They are very responsive
I love this tree thats so cool
Is no one else bothered by the 2,000 plus email notifications on his phone at the start..?! I'm so OCD about clearing out my red dots. Also really cool tree and also funny that the algorithm just now putting this up on my feed.
It’s 4,000 plus now. Lol
