I love how it reverberates in the room. I always wanted to play the Cello. I believe it to be a divine instrument. It has a resonance similar to the sound of God. Similar to an Om, or Gregorian chants. I'm glad someone else appreciates the separate pieces of the puzzle. Sorry to be a spazz lol
@mikejett2733 My favorites are Mezzanine and 100th Window. Truly next level artistry. I consider myself an Audiophile & hear Everything. We know what truly good shit is lol
Definitely one of my top songs and most favorite of all time from any genre. It is creepy, dark, moody, disturbing, eerie, depressing, sad, beautiful, but very danceable and uplifting at the same time. This video is pure magic! In fact, the whole album is a masterpiece! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
This group is so underrated and unappreciated anyone agree. Their music is so out of this world way different than anything I have ever listened to in my life and every song has great meaning behind there songs. They are the real deal and the good stuff in the music industry
I'm barely listening to this album I'm 35 now when it came out think was probably 15 16 but didn't know about the group which sucks cause love their stuff
I love this song so much! I recently discovered, after 7 years of having Spotify, that this is my most played song ever. I think it may actually be my favorite song ever. What a masterpiece.
this song feels like being relaxed enough to fall asleep, but being just a bit too sick or anxious to, and just rolling around in bed for hours never getting any rest
Which sense underrated? by critics no at all, they're considered fundamental. If you mean the public, for sure they're too tough (not for me, I mean), or too creepy... that's not easy pop..as you say, they're very influential, think among musicians. Anyway they're greatly estimated as I see

I think it is true that trip hop is a drug. I listen to butterfly caught from 4 to 8 hours a day. A DAY! And I have never felt tired of it. Better. I WANTED MORE AND MORE. That is called a serious addiction! Best song of my entire life! It never gets boring!
I mean, this could theoretically go for 4-8 hours as a continuous stream of consciousness with different lyrics ongoingly, and it would never get old. It is a subversive stream.

Nearly twenty years since this absolute masterpiece emerged into an unsuspecting world; and every bit as broodingly immersive, enigmatic and captivating as it was the first time I heard it. IMO a high point on 100th Window and arguably one of Massive Attack's finest works. Cheers guys!
@@k-leb4671 Funny how tastes can differ so much.. which would you say are you favourite three on the album? I think I'd go for this, Future Proof and Antistar, FWIW.
@@Mike-de7wv oh, definitely Antistar. That song is a religious experience. My two other favourites are probably Name Taken and Small Time Shot Away. Hmm, that's actually the last 3 tracks on the album. They really knew how to end this album.
I like to think this is how the Mothman really looks like. And the lyrics are so dark!! Almost sounds like a killer recounting his crimes or something like that, so they barely make any sense but to him only.
Even though most people will not agree with me, i think 100th window is MA's strongest effort. You see Del Naja's doubt, musicalism and paranoia all in just a few songs, it's hauntingly beautiful.
This song is one of the things that marks my life (I listen to this 2-3 hours a day). True inspiration, the power of art, beauty in darkness. Although I make a more heavy and concentrated music, this song is one of the greatest things I heard in my life and I'm planning to make a similiar, but not the same, song to pay homage to this song. Butterfly Caught is epic!
was listening to this album ,while sitting on my chair under the shining sun...Massive Attack are an awesome band, but this albu, has something wicked and special ,which transports you in another dimension.......
I love the use of symbolism in this music video. It's absolutely beautiful! And the lyrics--they don't seem to make sense...at first. But when you analyze the music video and the lyrics together, you'll find the name of the song and the moth in the music video are not mistakes--but symbols. I think this song is about a loss of innocence and emptiness. It is truly a work of art.
'One day, Gregor Samsa, a traveling salesman, wakes up to find himself transformed into a monstrous vermin. He believes it is a dream and reflects on how dreary life as a traveling salesman is. As he looks at the wall clock, he notices that he has overslept and missed his train for work' 'The Metamorphosis', Franz Kafka
Very true, I've been going through depression my whole life but when I listen to massive attack: I feel at ease and feel so mellow that it's normal to be so calm. Love the surreal beats
Perfection. Love this song . And the video . Perfect combination of darkness , blended into the electronica Wibe . And the violins are beond awe … I can listen to this for hours … I love the darkness & the comfort (and the discomfort ) it gives me in a soothing way. Brilliant work
100th Window is one hell of an album. Literally. It's insane and disturbing, even if oneiric and calm, in some way. In a word, trip hop. Maybe their last trip hop album
Yeah true! I was talking about this yesterday with my father. It's probably not so wide known cause it's pretty similar to Mezzanine, which is more iconic IMO.
Orlando Cainelli 100th window never come close to the sound of Mezzanine. It's a dope album too but doesn't sound to any massive attack album released. jesus... your music is so dark and show perfekt, what i think it is about. The face expression, i wish that sweet Lady who showed me your music can be here, what a present she was...
I remember driving home by car from a Techno Club in Franfurt and listen to this brandnew song. It felt so surreal Sunday morning at 06 o'clock in the morning!

I'm getting serious alien vibes from both this video and the song itself, especially the latter. As much as I love & respect these guys there's just No Way they could've produced THIS without any "help." I might be completely wrong though. Beautiful and strange piece, to say the least.

this is not just music. this is magic. cello is really breathtaking
i wrote the same under another massive attack song. Massive Attack is out of this world
There whole future proof album is amazing
It’s actually under the sub genre of TripHop. An alternative European version of HipHop.

so lucky i found this band when i was barely a preteen
I have just got into it a few decades beyond those years but hey when it hits it hits!
Mine too. Found out about them when I was 15, thanks to the movie Sliver.
Same. Kinda discovered them by accident. Just digging around in a record store stoned one day and what do ya know? Blue Lines😅

Their most sinister song and music video. Trip-hop mania!
I would say this and take it there either way tricky
2020 and I still come back here.

Genius, the whole album was a brave exploration away from the "classic" Massive Attack sound. My fave massive attack album, it`s dark and beautiful.
