Thanks Lui, do you also know how to set a filter on a mulitvalue column using 'contains' ? I have this column which can contain multiple values. I'd like to have a view filtered, showing all records containing a certain value. Thanks!
Hi there, I've never heard of such limitation before. I did a quick search and could not turn up any results. If you do come across any info on this limitation, please do share! Thanks for the comments and for watching!
Hello Lui, thanks for the helpful video. I actually tried to apply some of your filtering methods but unfortunately I encountered this problem in my SharePoint List where it displays "null" when I'm applying filters. The filter function itself still works properly, but weirdly it shows null in the filter information just after the list name. How can I solve this issue so it will display the proper filter I'm applying? If I am to illustrate it, it looks something like this in my Sharepoint List. Correct Display MyListName > Date > Shift (Shift 1, Shift 2, Shift 3) But instead it displays as MyListName > null > null
Hi Yoga, sorry for the delay. I've never experienced this issue before but I would suggest clearing your browser history, cookies and then trying to filter again. This is likely a function of the browser caching list data and not the list itself. This has worked for me to resolve other similar issues. Hope this helps!
Hi there, I have a tutorial that outlines how to sort items in a SharePoint list: ua-cam.com/video/XVNnt-kq3ZA/v-deo.html hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Hi Lui, I am having an issue with my filter. I am working in the modern online SharePoint list where I am filtering the vendor column. Without the filter on, there are multiples rows with a particular vendor name I am looking to search for. When I select the vendor filter to filter for that particular vendor, nothing comes up. When I select two vendors names at the same time only then will the first vendor I selected then come up. It seems to only be doing this with this vendor name in particular. All the other vendors seem to be working correctly. Any ideas what it could be? I haven't had much luck finding anything online.
Hi Sophia, sorry for the delay in responding. What type of column is your vendor column? It seems like this might be an issue where the vendor names are not consistent (i.e. maybe the have an extra space for example). If the vendor column is a choice type, then this would not be the case as you would see the vendor name listed multiple times in the filter drop-down. Hope this helps & thanks for watching.

Just like in excel when you filter a column, you can 'select all' (and 'deselect all'). The fact that doesn't exist in SP, w/o development, is sad. Some lists have thousands of items. If I want to filter out 800/1000 items, right now I have to select them from the filter manually? Or am I missing something obvious? Microsoft says on their help page that, currently, there is NO select all "button," meaning it would take some programming to get that functionality.

Love this vid! Do you have a recommendation on how to add a search box to a list when using it in teams?
Lui, this is the most niche topic ever, and I thank you sincerely for making it.
You are very welcome, glad I could help!
Great video, would you have one to help to re-instate filters to a list when users have removed all filters available for a list view?
Thank you! this is the best video online to date!!
Glad it was helpful!

How do we Select All w/o programming??
Hi there, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by select all. Can you elaborate? Thanks!

@@musicandmountains916 I’m pretty sure if you tick the little circle next to the column name it selects all
@@musicandmountains916 you can click the little circle next to the left of the first column selects all
@@johnbrennan8442 that feature does not exist for SP column list filters.
