Does Camping World Really Suck? Part 2/4 (RV damage insurance claim nightmares!)

- If you saw Part 1 one of our "Does Camping World Suck?" series, you'll know that we chose Camping World to perform a ton of repairs and a large roof repair job on our rig. I had a lot of options for repair shops which were more conveniently located in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, but in the end we drove 4.5 hours to take the motorhome to Missouri and allow Camping World of Stafford, MO. to do the work. Why did I choose Camping World? Honestly, so many people say so many bad things about this business that I figured I'd give them a try myself with a large, complicated list of repairs. I wanted to answer the question "Are all CW locations as bad as people say they are?" while documenting the entire process from first contact to final pickup.
Anytime you're dealing with an insurance company AND an extended warranty company you're bound to have some headaches. In this video we show first-hand some of the frustrations we experienced as the process came to a close. What were the issues and how did CW communicate and assist? State Farm is the best on claims. On mine they let Camping World make the est.
They need a bunch of Kerry’s at General Rv especially at there Birch Run Michigan location my experiences there have been terrible.
Twenty plus years ago I was a MAC Tools distributor in Springfield/Strafford. With only a couple exceptions my clients were very on top of their game, helpful and square shooters. I was a tech before and after the tool gig so recognizing automotive repair shop traits came easily. Though the CW store is new since my departure (I left the area in '99), it's good to see that good business habits are still practiced there.

Yes it was a big sigh of relief! We're still rolling with the plastic/cardboard window mod as of 1/9 but hoping to see the new glass soon!
The ins co you have has a bad reputation change to State Farm after this claim. At least you have the best Camping World!
I have national general as well, suffered wind damage to my rubber membrane coming back frim Florida and they denied my claim stating there is no evidence of wind damage. The adjustor did a lackluster job of taking photos and now they are requesting i take more photos on my own. They didnt tell me they were denying the claim until i called them to inquire about it. I am def taking my business to a different company.
Aw no! That's so frustrating. I'm actually dealing with NGIC again on another claim and they're again pi**ing me off. Hopefully we both find a good resolution.
Most review sites give them only 2.5 stars. So no I would not buy anything from them.

what extended warranty company did you have for the repairs on the other stuff? looking for a good extended warranty company
We had USA Travel Care by American Guardian. It paid for itself and the peace of mind was a great bonus!

Their service department really screwed me over with BS extra charges $80.00 for shop supplies when all I had them do is wash it when I asked the gal if this charge was like what car dealerships charge for oil rags she said no it’s for other stuff when I asked her like what she said stuff like soap really I brought it here to get it washed so she said and other stuff like nuts and bolts so I asked her how many nuts and bolts did they use to wash it I will never go there again
Shop supplies is a really tricky one. As a former Service Manager myself, I understand the need for shop supplies charges on most jobs. A wash isn't one of them.
@@LackeysBeTrippin I’ll agree with you on that one and have no problem paying my auto repair shops $10:00 or $20:00 dollars for supplies but I would really have to balk if they charged me $ 80:00 dollars that is down right ripping people off
