Nuanced………. This message shows the incredible depth of God’s word as nothing was glossed over in the life of Israel’s greatest King.
The illustration Nathan used to get David on the path of repentance of the story of the Lamb a man who was rich took from his neighbor to provide for a guest especially pointing out the person the Lamb was taken from loved that Lamb and it was all he had.
It goes further that The Lord points out to David through Nathan that he was given so much but yet “If that was not enough”……. If people know the story in it’s conclusion know that this would plague David’s Royal household from then on through so much pain even losing another son besides the child who died from Bathsheba but also Absolam in his total depravity much like David’s sexual sin and of course flowing through his other son as Pastor David pointed out in Solomon.
Great teaching that should bring people to examine themselves and turn towards the grace of The Lord none of us deserve 😢

And Solomon also knew that law of God and he broke it and ruined his own life... we need to live a holy life keeping God's commandments... amazing message, thank you Pastor Guzik... regards from Monterrey Mexico....( Perhaps that woman was taking her mikve according to God's law in Leviticus 15 :24-27 )

Nothing we do is hidden from the eyes of the Lord. Repent and trust in the blood of Jesus. He has done what we cannot.
Jesus lives ♥️ and is God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑

This goes for both men and women. We know what’s right and wrong and have that choice. We know what’s right in the eyes of the Lord and what is not.

    Thoughts:
    1. What choice did Bathsheba have, in that day and time, when a man, any man, let alone a King made sexual demands of her!
    2. Bathsheba’s father was a man of importance and as Uriah was well known to King David and lived close by, it would only stand to reason that Bathsheba was known to King David, even if marginally. That King David happened to see Bathsheba and that she was bathing on a roof at that hour was no coincidence.

@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord thanks for the sermon pastor. I felt both convicted and encouraged. And your church History series is so helpful to me.

But why did God allow polygamy? He didn't condemn men who did it but adultery committed by women is roundly condemned to the extent that it's even used to illustrate Israel's idolatry

I am too brother. This is by far my biggest and worst flaw as a human. Battling lust and being a womanizer. The roots are so deep. 20 + years of growing. Find it close to impossible to be satisfied with one woman. Pray for me friends.

King David was an adulterer and a murderer. Yet he was forgiven. The innocent paid for his sin ... by the thousands.
Job was a righteous man. Yet he was handed over to his greatest enemy to do with as he pleased. His family was murdered and God thought that by giving him another one all would be good. I doubt Job trusted God again. God was found wanting in that department.
He In the end ... it's not about repentance ... it's about whether God likes you or not.
God will betray you if He so pleases ... no matter how hard you work to walk in His ways. He claims to be faithful ... but that's just a myth yet to be proven.
The doctrine of pre-destination makes that clear enough.

That's not how God is. God gives us what we don't deserve. He is very patient with the living. He became man to die for us. Yes, when He expresses His wrath, it is expressed in handing people over to the consequences of their choices. However, he gives us grace: keeping us alive to be alive and be saved by Jesus, leading us in the way everlasting.

Yes you're right.@-trentfan78x- Im sorry that you feel this way @CleanCutt but that is not God's true character. He is a merciful and loving but he is also JUST and when we sin there are consequences for it.
Because of his sin with Bathseba David lost his children and other things if you read the full story in 2nd Samuel. God literally gave Job everything and it was the devil's plan to see if Job really loved God because God gave him everything so God said go ahead and test Job to see if he will stop believing me. Again if you read the full story your eyes would be opened and you'd see the truth.
I pray that God softens your heart and you come to know Him for who He truly is❤
And he is faithful. Even when Jonah disobeyed God and ran away He still gave him another chance to do the right thing
