That lady in the front row singing meekly. Close your eyes, listen to Glen and release that last bit of rope. Let your heart, your soul sing the words your mind already knows. I'll sing with you - let's go.
As a drummer and massssssive Toad fan, it was so satisfying to see the video of the drums line up with what I was hearing. There are so many bad video edits out there that really ruin my chances of "believing" a video. This is a very haunting song that I initially didn't "get" from this album and then one day it clicked and it became one of my favorites.
Would you be willing to share your interpretation of this song? I have my theories but struggle to pin it down to anything concrete despite finding it very moving.
It’s kind of a hard song to interpret. I could be way off but in my opinion it kind of sounds like a song about breaking an addiction. “Oh tell me when I’ve had enough” “I’ve had enough” “The mind is willing but the body resists” that’s just what I got from it.
Thanks TTWS, from a fan who is no longer able to get out this is priceless. I was blessed to be a VIP on this albums release party in 2013. Great memories this conjured up. And Josh your still my new favorite toad. 😜. Sorry our talk in Biloxi made me a big fan. ENOUGH! So fitting for today.
Missing time We killed the night But I didn't want to go I didn't want to go Back in to that light Chemicals Cloud around the hall Sting your pure eyes But it's sweeter than you know It's sweeter than you know Impossible The day is short The task is great And I am idle The day is short The task is great And I am idle The mind is willing but the body resists The fight is over but the pain persists Tell me when I've had enough Oh tell me when I've had enough I've had enough I've had enough The day is short The task is great And I am idle
I've seen Toad live in Key West twice (2022 and 2017) and can't wait till they come back again, hopefully less than 5 years this time 😀 Of course the 90's Toad classics are, well, CLASSICS, but the new stuff over the last 10 years is equally amazing. Transient Whales is quite possibly my favorite new song in many decades. Thanks for everything and please come back to The Keys soon.
Love this tune! Incredible emotion from the beginning to h thee end. Hope they’ll play it on Tuesday in York. Would’ve been cool to be surprised but now I’m psyched!!
Drum sounds in this are just too much. Good job to Josh and the engineer and producers. Toad has always made pristine recordings, but this album feels so simple, stripped down, and pure, but the standard is the same.
Certainly an opinion you're entitled to. It's one of my favorites, is yet another of many forays they've made into different sounds and concepts, and is a brilliant thematic climax to the New Constellation album's throughline. It also may help to slot it into the shoegaze genre for a framework for listening.
Thankful to UA-cam for the notification❣️ “The day is short, the task is great, and I am idle”. Brilliant transcendence (biblical, even).
The Toad album from which this song came from - New Constellation - is a damn fine record. Totally underrated, it’s a modern rock classic.
Good song. Favorite song, All I Want.
I thank God I am aware of your art!

Glen is in great voice & Todd is amazing!
Lets be honest, we love em all.

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE TOAD! Instantly lifts my spirit, calms my soul and makes me feel at home no matter where I am.
My absolute favorite Toad song, and that is saying something because I love them all.
Friggin’ awesome! Thanks
I love your song 🎼🎶🎸🥁👍Thanks Glenn and Toad The Wet Sprocket 🇫🇷🎵🎸💖👏👏
Great Song👍👍👍
Excellent performance of my favorite song from New Constellation! Thanks Toad!
One of my favorite "newer" songs by them
The day is short, the task is great - and I'm watching Toad videos.
Missing time
We killed the night
But I didn't want to go
I didn't want to go
Back in to that light
Chemicals
Cloud around the hall
Sting your pure eyes
But it's sweeter than you know
It's sweeter than you know
Impossible
The day is short
The task is great
And I am idle
The day is short
The task is great
And I am idle
The mind is willing but the body resists
The fight is over but the pain persists
Tell me when I've had enough
Oh tell me when
I've had enough
I've had enough
I've had enough
The day is short
The task is great
And I am idle

I have a video of this song that I shot from the front row in Portland. It sounds just as good in person.
Love this song! Nice video, Josh Daubin!
I can't believe how fast he can change from pants to shorts. It's pretty amazing.
Yes, quite remarkable❣️Perhaps Glen’s side hussle is a fashion model 😍🤩.
Impressive! He’s quite the rock star❤🤩
Glenn is the quintessential Master of disguise
Bare feet to boots.
Josh - Great video!!!
This song is absolutely fantastic!
Great performance!!!!!
Classic!
What a fantastic quality performance and recording, thank you as always!

I realized some of the clips in the video are from a show we were at in East Providence in 08/2019

Big Toad the Wet Sprocket, Lapdog, & Glen solo fan, but THIS is utterly boring...

This is one of my favorite toad tunes... I'm curious what your favorite songs are?
