I had a small doubt. Do you guys only react to some artists now? I see you guys reacting to Skz, Svt, Ateez, Baymon, Nmixx. Previously I saw you guys reacting to new releases but I haven't seen those much recently like new releases from BP members, Twice and IVE so I was wondering if there have been any changes 😅.
4:58 From what I’ve read, the stag beetle makes reference to a Greek myth. Cerambus was a talented musician who took for granted the love and care of the nymphs who loved his music. They turned him into a beetle. The MV talks about their fears so it makes sense. Love these videos, btw☺️🩵🩷
I appreciate this breakdown sm. Fear was svt's first deep and dark release which also happened to be painfully, yet beautifully, honest esp considering their mental state at the time. I know music transcends langauges, but there is sm more to appreciate when you understand the lyrics, which woozi is a master of and I hope more ppl realise that. Again, thank you sm for this reaction!!
There are not enough reactors that breaks down lyrics, so I honestly appreciate you guys' doing it, especially when you differentiate the English captions to the actual Korean lyrics. Glad seeing you guys react to SVT in general too. Can't wait to see you guys do more deep dives into their songs!
the next mv you should check out is defo home;run. its another completely different genre than what you've heard so far, which will show how diverse they are. seventeen can do any genre.
I love the observation you made about their lyricism. They've said it's intentional to not use like complicated words for their lyrics, they want to be simple while conveying their emotions and messages because they want to use their own words to deliver a sincere message and it being understood, they don't want to wrap it in pretty words just because, but at the same time they can be quite poetic with just a few word plays and evocative metaphors and storytelling. It's always a shame how we non koreans lose a lot of it in translation.
Getting Closer, a pre release and a surprise to carats as SVT debuted it at MAMA hongkong before the MV was released. the dance practice would definitely need to be paired with it however.
Thanks for the reaction. Next should be Fearless since it's connected to Fear. At first, I was not that interested in this track (I juste heard extract) but then I was obsessed with other extracts without knowing they were from the same track. Finally, when I listen to the song from the beginning till the end, I loved it soooo much
There are some songs that are like 1+1, when listening to them you just have to watch the practice video because the choreography is a masterpiece, like home;run and ready to love (obviously a lot more ‘cause they always have incredible choreographies).
Yass!! Another SVT vid 😍I really appreciate how you break down the lyrics, analyze and explain them for us non-Koreans! As a proud Carat, I love Seventeen's music, but I wouldn't be able to fully interpret their songs beyond what’s in the CC.This kind of analysis helps me understand their artistry on a deeper level, and I’m so grateful for it! 💖 Keep it coming you guys ! 😍
Honestly, dance practices are probably one of my favorite things to watch from the group. You can’t really go wrong with any one that you pick. But some of my favorites: Pretty U, Mansae, Highlight (the 13 member version), 24H, Snap Shoot, Left & Right, Dream, Hot, Don Quixote, Super, and Love, Money, Fame
Fear is still one of my all time favorites among all of seventeen songs, listening to it everyday. When I first heard Jeonghan's line, it hit me and I fell out of my chair😅. Thank you for the reaction and lyrics explanations! It makes me understand svt lyrics more and to appreciate them more❤
Thank you so much for the lyric break down. It's very much appreciated. There's a counterpart for this song called Fearless. It's a live performance though. Would love for you to check it out please 😊
I love your videos! Seventeen super long guide is perfect after game caterers. It is 3 hours long, divided into 4 parts but it is worth it. You'll be able to know the members after the guide even if they change hair colors or in a different outfit styles. ❤️
I would actually recommend you watching the dance videos of the MV you've already watched because I think you would appreciate them for their musicality as well. I always love seeing your SVT reactions pop up on my page.
Thank you for the insightful analysis of Seventeen's songs' lyrics. It's very interesting how language has these complexities and subtleties which informs deeper understanding of the song's message.
I really enjoyed and appreciated the breakdown of the song, especially the nuances in the lyrics! Woozi has said that his goal is always conveying their current feelings sincerely to their fans through good music. I think that sentiment is what really draws me to Seventeen’s lyrics. They are able to put their emotions into words and convey their message in a way that really connects to the audience. And since they create choreo to go with their lyrics, the overall effect of song and high level dance elevate each other to create art that is best experienced through their live performances. In the case of Fear, the members were mentally in the darkest place of their careers. This song does a fantastic job commentating on the toxicity of the music industry, and struggles of the relationship between fan and artist. Side note, Vernon and S.Coups also contribute significantly to the lyrics in Seventeen’s discography, including Fear! And in his Suchwita episode, Woozi does confirm that all the members write songs.
Ugh, I love Fear (I love ALL SVT, but I'm so obsessed with DarkTeen!!!) sooooooo much!!! ❤❤❤ It was way before it's time, and it crushes me that it didn't get as good of a response as it deserved, when it first came out, but at least its getting it's recognition over time.
Try their Japanese track Ima-Even if the world ends tomorrow. The music is veryyyyy good. It’s like a nostalgic anime vibe. Or FALLIN FLOWER . Very beautiful track
fear was the song that got me into seventeen so i have a lot of love for it, thank u so much for reacting and for taking the time to explain the lyrics and nuances, it makes the song so much more special 🥹
When I first saw the beetle I thought of the Egyptian scarabs - which though not to do with poison or fear; it was a symbol of protection and used in funerals. But also, beetles are poisonous, and have been responsible for mass deaths. But, somehow for me, I thought of a scarab when I saw it in their MV
They probably just scared of the beetle lol since yknow it is called "FEAR" :D I think fearless is the next song you should see since it is connected to this song. Appreciate you guys so much! 화이팅~
Hello. A few months ago, WOODZ released another demo, maybe you can check it out (Purity/순수, Love Your Lies, and My Winter/나의 겨울). WOODZ also released a new live clip and I'm sure you haven't reacted to it ( ua-cam.com/video/dP1B0yTZOpU/v-deo.htmlsi=qiJBHXT9w6ObHTaT ) 1 video contains 4 songs, Deep Deep Sleep, Nightmare (unreleased), Bright Light Flicker (unreleased), and Accident. Thank you!! 💙🧡
SO MUCH to explain in terms of Korean lyrics :D Hope you have fun
