My last visit, I paid almost NOTHING for entertainment. Go to South Kensington and hit the museums. Natural History, Science, and the V&A all right next door to each other, and all free. I spent 2 days just at the V&A alone. Head over to Trafalgar and take in the National Portrait gallery, then pop up to the British Museum, and down to Lambeth to see the Imperial War Museum. Also contact the Free Tours by Foot people (especially Sinead). All kinds of free walking tours all over the city. Jack The Ripper, Christmas Lights, historic sights, etc.. The only tourist attraction I paid for was the Tower (TOTALLY worth it, as long as you make sure to get in on a tour with one of the Beefeaters. Those guys are AMAZING!)
While you are at the tower of London don't forget to stand on Tower Bridge to see it raise - Me and my wife have been in prime position about 4 or 5 times... Most people don't know what is happening when they hear the horn go off and ignore it. You can look at a timetable online (somewhere - not looked myself as we always seem to be in the right place at the right time) as to when it will open. It usually opens twice a day, but can be more or less depending on what wants to go through it. There was a tall ship giving tours last year and the bridge openned almost every hour. It is amazing that this Victorian wonder still works as good as it does.
I'm not from London but I go there often. Mate Trafalgar Square is full of these street scammers. Same as in Leicester Square. With all that this video was actually pretty good. Never knew about those free viewpoints. Thanks mate.
My brother and i traveled to London from the States for the first time this week. We watched all of your videos at our hotel room the first night we got here. You really helped us out with finding the cheap eats! Thanks!
I had a mate who worked for the local council - One of the biggest issue with the peanut and hot dog vendors is the treatment of naive tourists - they might say a fiver but assure a tourist that a fifty is a fiver or take a 20 and give them a five quid in change, mugging off the tourists, some if they can, will muscle into a wallet and take as much as possible. They also act as lookouts for the pickpockets and cups n balls scammers.
I've lived in London my whole life but I rarely leave the house ..😅My friends from the USA are coming to visit and they asked me to show them around so this video is actually very helpful. LMAO! @ The ending 🤣

Hey Charlie, lived in London for nearly 7 years and this video is a godsend for anyone visiting! Too many shady businesses operating these days in the big smoke. My own advice would be try if you can to avoid eating out at restaurants in zone 1. Stupidly overpriced food made badly served up to gullible customers. I ate the worst Indian food I've ever had at a place in zone 1 and sadly paid nearly £80 for it. Save your money, jump on the train and head into outer London to find better quality food.
Hope you get a lot more than 50k followers before your birthday. Btw, we went and had those fairground style donuts you had recommended in one of your earlier videos. They were absolutely delicious!!!
Everything but the girl - walking to you lyric: “It was seven years ago to the day You rang my house and we met halfway We walked 'round Leicester Square and Sat through 'Being There' and every moment of it I replay”
Loved the video but thought I should let your viewers know that Kew Gardens is nowhere near 35 pounds to get in, it's currently 24 pounds maximum at the gate for an adult and that's at weekends, peak season. Still not exactly given away maybe, but for a young person aged 16-29 the price at the gate is 12 pounds at peak times. If you book online, go in the week, off season or later in the afternoon it can be even less and so not that bad value considering that you can easily spend many happy hours wandering round inside. You can take in your own food and drink too if you want to make a cheap day out of it 🙂
@@CharlieVlogs and fair enough, it's still not exactly free anyway...that bit of Regents Park is for sure well up there on my list of free London highlights, so great to see you show it...if people don't know, people don't go...you looked to really enjoy it😊

Another scam to watch out for. The character mascots! Found a Mickey Mouse a few years ago who wanted me to take a photo with them. No tip bucket or sign anywhere! Took the photo and went to walk away, he shoved his hand in my face. Told him I only had a £20 note, he said he had no change. At that point I walked away. Avoid them unless happy to pay.
The Westminster bridge scammers work in a large team, have lookouts and hate people with cameras and will try to get rid of you filming them. The police can't do anything about them either. If police come, they pack up their gear and hide it on the bridge. Both me and my wife try to warn others when we go, but tourists just don't listen and lose hundreds of pounds to them.

My first ever trip to London, (Dec 2022), I was in town less than 2 hours before someone tried to pickpocket me. (On The Strand, right across the street from Charing Cross station) Guy (obviously drunk, or doing a VERY good acting job), came up and wanted to shake hands and put his arm around me, while trying to hit me up for money for a pint. The guy was so clumsy at it, his attempt actually made me laugh out loud at him and just say "Really??", then I walked away, just shaking my head. The rest of the trip was FANTASTIC, though!
