I did this repair some years ago and found it necessary to clamp the straight and rather stiff new felt while the glue was setting. Took the front panel off the other day to address some heating issues and noticed the topmost of the three nylon glides had fallen apart, so I'll be doing this repair again!
Just finished my dryer felt replacements- both upper and lower- after watching your videos. Easy-peasy! Thanks so much! Also the parts I ordered came super fast and in perfect condition. Thanks for that also!
I installed both top and bottom seals because of sever ware as they were the originals on this 30 year old dryer. I also greased the rear bering and oiled the idler wheel and cleaned everything . and installed a new belt. Now i get a CRAZY vibration that comes and goes . It sounds like the front bering is making the noise and twisting the cabnet seems to temporally stop the noise . I have changed this parts a dozen plus times over the years being an appliance tech for almost 40 years . Have you ever ran across this issue before.
After installing the new upper drum glide, the back of the drum now scrapes against the heat shield about 2/3 of rotation. The thickness of the new part seems to be the culprit. Would replacing the lower felt resolve this issue? I already replaced the rear bearing with a kit.
It is possible that a defective or worn lower felt seal could cause this symptom. Make sure that the upper drum glide and seal is fitted completely into the drum.

Thanks so much! This video was very helpful.
So is this the reason clothes keep getting hung up in this upper front area of the dryer?
That would be one of the symptoms if this part was defective.
Thanks, I'll be replacing it this weekend for sure. I may go ahead and replace the belt while I'm in there too:)
