Use a digital multi meter to check the resistance of this very simple coil. Since this is the secondary coil, energized thru mutual induction by the flywheel magnets as they rotate pass them, it may read 6,000 - 10,000 ohms. Also, find the air gap specs online, as the closer the coil is, the stinger the spark will be. For example, 4 sheets of paper is about 0.004” thousandth of an inch, as long as there is no lateral runout on the flywheel, bent shaft or worn bearing. ASE Master Tech since 1978
Also, since one end of the coils wire goes to the spark plug. The other end goes to ground. I believe it is on the top left rivet on the laminated coils frame. Therefore, clean the coils body where the screw bolt it onto the engine. Star washer that have little teeth can dig into the metal passed any rust. Use dielectric grease on the plugs connector and your coils frame bolts to keep from rusting again.
Hello Zak, R U from England? sometimes you can get a coil or mag to work again by placing it in an oven on low for a few hours, it gets the dampness out.
The recoil spring can be removed If it isn't already. Clean that bugger so it shines or it will not work smoothly as it should. On the housing just below the pull rope exit hole is a slot that the spring enters into. The inside coil end that locks into the recoil pulley. Insert just enough to allow you to insert the knotched end into the pulley. Lay the pulley into its position and install any lock over tabs whether they are the bend over or screwed on type. Now simply wind the pulley by hand so it pulls the spring in as it rotates. Getting the rope on is a little tricky but doable.

Cool thank you brother from United States
What is the flywheel magnet polarity as it comes to the coil. N then S or S then N. do you know what model/serial or code it came from?

Gracias compañero por la buena explicación
Thanks for the video. For anyone reading the comments, don"t put it on backwards like i did. Your machine wont work. Lol
How to get shroud rope recoil back in???

that coil's been around.
Ese motor es dos tienpo
Cool Iv done this before
