- My subscribers have seen me randomly studying 12 hours a day and several have asked me...why?!
I've decided to become a self-taught programmer. I will be studying 12 hours per day, 6 days a week, for 6 months. It's a pretty intense challenge.
Earlier this year, I ran 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. Sometimes I like to challenge myself and learn what I am capable of accomplishing.
If you see me live-streaming please pop in or if you have a goal you are trying to accomplish you can study with me. Learning to code alone is pretty tough and I can use all the encouragement I can get.

I'm rooting for you😊😊
Keep going!!! It's entirely possible! A lot of people will say that's too long to be coding in a day, you need to take more breaks, etc. but if you actually like what you're doing that time flies by. If you're disciplined enough to teach yourself and spend that much time on it it will definitely pay off in the end. I actually am doing the same thing. I decided to quit my job to learn how to code. I just started round two of 100 Days of Code. I spent all day coding just about. I'm also following The Odin Project as well as taking CS 50. I don't learn with just one resource so I found a collective that works for me. I don't live stream but I do post daily videos with a summary of my day. As long as you're consistent you'll be surprised how much you learn, it might not even take you 6 months. I'm a little over 3 months in and I've been applying for jobs just testing the waters. I've gotten 2 phone interviews but they haven't gone any further. I probably wont actually land a job until I learn React which I should be starting hopefully soon, but its worth a try. You just gained a subscriber!
I'm going to subscribe to your channel as well and check out your daily videos! I haven't heard of 100 days of code I'm going to have to Google it.
Thank you for your comment I really appreciate it!
@@DriveandThrive No problem. Its a hashtag mostly on twitter, there's a lot of people that post about their journey as well. Thanks you for subscribing!
respect, you will find success brother.
Thank you!
Hey bro, good luck on this new journey. I'm kind of in the same position. I decided to go with team treehouse for my learning.
Awesome good luck to you too! Right now I am doing The Odin Project but I may look at team treehouse as well. Are you enjoying it so far?
@@DriveandThrive Thank you. High quality content , I’m extremely happy so far. I been trying to learn programming for 8 years🤦🏼😂. The thing is I would start to learn and after 1-2 months I would stop and than start again. But now I’m more committed than ever before. There’s no plan B.
I feel the same way. I pretty much have to succeed because I don't have a plan b. So I'm just going to grind everyday. I might give treehouse a tree as well.
So i saw your other comment on primegen's channel, you finally landed a job huh? if so,congrats mate.
Can you share your experience on what role was it for and is it a startup? What questions were you asked in the interview?
I got hired by a consulting firm. They actually didn’t ask difficult coding questions much at all and helped further train me
👍
Leave me a comment
ya and then be fired from google,, twitter etc and join the 150k unemployed coders
Don’t let the FAANG news fool you. Tons of tech jobs available despite the layoffs at top companies. In fact there is still a significant shortage of coders in America. Sorry to disappoint you haha
