Hi Tim I couldn't drink the blood orange Malfy gin. I disliked it. For me hands down the Malfy Gin Con Rosa is the winner here and it's the beautiful grapefruit that really grabs me. I agree that the flavour can be a bit concentrated. I can easily drink it on its own. I don't mind the Malfy lemon but it didn't blow me away. I tend to cut back a bit on how much I pour for the Malfy grapefruit and I add in some Tanqueray or Beefeater and I get a lovely hit of Juniper along with the grapefruit. A lovely London Dry and the more juniper the better, really makes a fabulous cocktail. But I do drink this often on its own as well!! I haven't been able to find the original Malfy. Tim in some gin with a good punch of juniper and I think you will love it!! Cheers!! 🙂

I think you've discovered a new concept. The "Ginaroma" If you ever start to use a grading scale you can do
    Color, taste, and "Ginaroma" :)

Thanks man. Might be our backgrounds - I know you are a chef, I bartended for many years and spent quite a lot of time working in Michelin star restaurants and approaching drinks with a chefs mentality and learning from them. Maybe it’s that!

The pink is always solid, Rosa is good, haven't tried the lemon.
Would love to see some Whitney Neal gin reviews (some good flavors).

I really liked the Limone when I sampled Malfy's set (the Originale actually tastes a bit similar, also a little lemony but even lighter), came across as natural and just the right mix of sweet and acidic, I've had a couple of lemon gins in the meantime but it's still my favorite with that fruit in the center. On the other hand both the Arancia and Rosa tasted artificial and candy-like to me, none of the slighty sour, slightly bitter richness you'd get in a real fruit, I was afraid a grapefruit gin would be way too bitter for my sensitive taste buds (Beefeater 24 is the most unpleasantly bitter gin I've had yet, and no one even describes it as bitter) but the Rosa is the complete opposite actually, also has a weird rose undertone that some people may not mind or even enjoy but others will be put off by, I don't even wanna call it perfumy but it's definitely unexpected in a gin that doesn't advertise itself with rose in the name.

I would give the blood orange a try in a bar first before I commit to a full bottle! Liked the Lemon & Grapefruit but the Blood Orange wasn’t as good IMO

@@TimandTonic Yes I agree 100%. I love, love, love the Malfy Con Rosa with rosemary as a garnish or a slice of grapefruit, or both, and I liked the Malfy Leon gin (the Con Rosa is by far my favorite and if you want to try 30 mg of Con Rosa and 30 mg of a more Juniper forward gin like Beefeater or Tanqueray - wow - I love combining the two!! But I basically make grapefruit gimlets or martini style cocktails with the Gin Con Rosa. I love a good punch of boozy forward flavour!! I'd give the orange a try in a bar - I didn't like it and thankfully had only bought a tiny sample bottle of it!! Cheers!

I love it and often add 30 ml of a London Dry gin with a real punch of Juniper. It make this lovely pink grapefruit even better with a great hit of Juniper but I also love it on its own!!! Cheers!! 🙂

malfy blood orange with bitter lemon tastes like god level. BTW you need to taste them in principle with tonic water, bitter lemon etc. thats the true experience, even with wild berries.
It makes no sense to drink it pure, because nobody drinks in pure form.

Hey VC, thanks for the feedback! I’ve started including more G&Ts and Cocktails in my newer videos now.
To be honest I have tried the Blood Orange with Tonic but it still doesn’t do it for me, will have to give the bitter lemon a go, thanks for the suggestion!

It's about personal taste. You dislike the orange, but other can like it and vice versa.
