I had both at home, well not exactly because it was the Kef LSX 2. Genelec 8020 is more accurate and clear. Finally I returned both and get Genelecs 8030 cpm that are same price as KEF lsx ii and even I have enough money to buy a Wiim Pro plus to stream and DAC… Obviously the 8030 are way better than 8020 or LSX, I trust my Genelecs more than my ears 😊 Post editing: none of them goes to low on bass response, the LSX has onboard DSP equalized to enhance bass response. I didn’t measured the FQ but to my ears LSX’s bass sound very inaccurate. I measured 8020s, lack of bass under 60 Hz but is very clean and punchy
I've noticed that a lack of air is always a thing with KEF speakers and that makes them unimpressive sounding, had the KEF LS50 wireless and there was a lack of openness/airiness in the upper frequencies, they have EQ that you can play around with and increasing the treble in the EQ did help a bit to add some presence
@@trungnc5487 I agree the sound quality is not impressive for the price and i've heard people having issues with connecting and streaming as well so i wouldn't recommend them. I've compared to the LS50 to studio monitors and the LS50 is worse when it comes to sound but imaging is actually really impressive on the LS50 though
I watched many of your video and my favorites are the M-Audio BX5 D3 and the big Edifiers 2750 2000Pro and 3000Pro. They sound most nearly to the original. Some say it would be not compareable like you do cause the speaker by that i hear the video have its own frequency response. But that i think is no problem if you adjust your own speakers with an eq that the source track sounds balanced on your own speaker. Then you get really a feeling how the tested speakers differs from the original. But one big question i have: How did you avoid that the frequency response of your microphones not falsify the result? How did you ensure that your microphone have a linear freqeuncy responese and did not discolour the result ? But one thing i have to say: You do a really great work 👍
Genelec is clearly the superior speaker but it’s main flaw is that it’s light in the pants on bass as well as impact. You could try adding a separate sub but integrating it would be nearly impossible. It’s great for its intended purpose as a monitor for mixing and mastering but for hifi use its just not enough. IMO the kef is garbage.
I do agree "IMO the kef is garbage." Crappy $3k I spent. Just 5s after I turn on Yamaha hs8 I recognise kef have nothing in SQ to compare. It just smart spk

KEF has deeper bass but genelecs is more controlled and tight, the transients also seem more defined on genelec

You should make a video about your top best monitors. Having them ranked would help viewers decide what to buy
As expected Genelec Wins!!!
Kef have no way to combat. I thought before open this video. It's true.
Kef sound like crossfeed, narrow stage

I punched my ls50ii wl after 3 month using.
2 reason: tons of connecting/streaming and SQ just so so (to bad p/p)

Genelec more air. Seems to be better.
The Genelecs do have crisper treble but it seems like they could get harsh on the ears for extended or high volume listening sessions.
genelecs hands down after i got my genelecs nothing has sounded better just have pay way much more to beat genelecs
Thanks you.
I like Genelec.
Genelec takes this one imo.
Imaging is MUCH better on the Gens....... Its so much wider
Genelec, Yamaha and Focal make the best studio monitors
Genelec is much bettter and closer to the original recording.
Please Do a comparison of Barefoot footprint monitors with Genelec and Eve.
Which do you prefer?
When will the review be? Airpulse a300 vs Edifier S3000 PRO?
iLoud MTM vs KEF LSX please.
Can you make adam a7x comparison?
genelec vs kali
GENELEC DEFINITIVAMENTE GENELEC
Not much of a fight in my opinion, as expected.
Genelec win
Simply put, not impressed at all by those 2.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL k.....
source track obliterated both speakers 😛
KEF
둘 다 별로인듯. pc용 스피커라면 kef를 사용할듯. 고음이 조금 롤오프 된것이 근접 청취에서는 귀가 피로하지 않음
