No matter how proud you are of your Mother. She is twice as proud of you. What a lovely family.
Anna''s love for her parents is amazing.
Of course. She has the coolest parents in the world imo.
Pia is showing everyone that she didn't attend the tournament just for nostalgia but to go toe-to-toe with all the players higher rated than her. Go Pia!
No Grandmaster would ever go to a tournament just for nostalgia.
how was she selected for this tournament ?
I almost missed this. Good thing I checked the news. Thank you for sharing.
I love watching Pia play. I love her rational, careful, positional approach. And then its so fun to switch it up and watch one of Juan's games. Her positional and his aggressive attacking style creates a good balance in one's game. Thanks Anna for your commentary! You make learning chess fun and so accessible :) Such a joy to learn from you! :)
To play like that against the women's world champion is already a win in my book. GO PIA!!!!!
Pia demonstrates time and again that she is not only a great player, but truly a player that will go down in history as one of the greats. An inspiration to us all!
It is not possible for any players to move faster than Anna can talk. Good thing we love to listen to her.
Lol 😂😂😂
Same as Pia commenting ! Not so surprising !
Heartbreaking, but we will keep supporting her!! There are still more rounds to go!! She is a fighter, and will keep fighting 💪🏽💪🏽
1 second more to think at the end and she would beat the female world champion!!! amazing We were so sad looking her sadness she almost got it! Pia is showing her true level, the lengend is still in form. WE LOVE YOU PIA, SUCH A STRONGER PLAYER
Drawing against a world champion is nothing to sneeze at.. Great game, imo.
This is great. Great commentary. Great Pia - fantastic!
I love pia!!
I love this!!!
This is wholesome aF!!!!
Go Pia! My favourite GM!
Now this song is in my head "Pia pia pia bole mera jiya " ❤
So fascinating watching Anna comment on Pia... Great job both of you. Now Anna understands what Pia feels commenting on her game. What a great pair you both are. Love the love you have for each other.
So Cute, reversing the roles from last month, Go Pia!
Hi Anna,
Love your enthusiasm for your Mom's play.
And it's very remarkable and a treasure that your Mom can compete at such a high level in her elderly years, most chess players lose some capability as they grow older but your Mom continues to play at a remarkable level.
As for your commentary in the Classical game,
I'd suggest that you may be missing the value of a Q-side pawn majority in the endgame, which in this game for practical purposes is after the Qs were exchanged around move 15.
From about move 15, although the game is likely drawn, Black might have a very miniscule practical advantage since a minority attack usually makes no sense in an endgame and since there are usually fewer Q-sed pawns (both sides) than K-side pawns, Black should be able to create a passer more easily than White can create a passer on the K-side.
So, Black has a very slight theoretical advantage of a potential initiative if a passer can be created but if both sides play correctly as in this game, the initiative isn't enough to convert into a win.
I'm speculating this is why your Mom spent so much time considering moves for many moves after Move 15, your Mom had an ever so slightly tougher game to play. But as you describe, too... Nothing should be taken for granted and it's incredible your Mom created that unexpected opportunity at the end.
Great video, always love seeing Juan too, he is so friendly and such an authority on chess. Keep up the good work, hope your mum wins.
amazing game Pia! You did fantastic
Your commentary was perfect Anna. it is real shame missing the Nf5 move.
Cool to see a high level game like this.
I didn't realise Pia was rated so high
Pia, you did a-ma-zing. All our hearts broke 💔 a little for you when we saw the ending. But you did absolutely a-ma-zing, and please don't feel bad for too long. ❤ this only proves that you are still one of the best female players in the world. We all love you ❤ thank you, Anna, for this video and your commentary 🎉 I missed it on Twitch so I am happy I could see the recap here on UA-cam.
go pia!
Well played Pia. Sorry I missed it all live.
Anna and Pia, excellent people
What a lovely family!
Because you're mom is also a gm..and mam Pia has an instinct stragity 😊
So cool
Amazing Pia♥
OK, Pia has still got it….bigtime. What a beast.
That is the most heartbreaking game I've ever seen. For sure I would have lost the next game tilted. She did awesome drawing next one.
We ❤ Pia!
♥♥♥ Go Pia!!!!
Go Pia! ❤
❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pia. ❤❤❤
"unbelievable... she missed Nf5+" was what went thru my head when she missed her chance to win the exchange and the win instead of going to armageddon and not winning with the white pieces.
Pia did great!
Cool
How many meos is required for the cowopening?
PIA
Amazing game against the world champion. And the champion faltered first.
so gutting, but your mam is playing amazingly!!
What if you moved pawn to E4. Instead of trading for the bishop
hi Anna Congratulation for comment can you post ROUND1
03:36:24
Pia!
Anyone can blunder...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Anna has her mom’s gift of talking!
I am confused that Anna wanted mom to take the pawn with the rook. Then somehow think mom made a mistake. Taking the pawn was the mistake it seems. I am confused that ANNA didn't explain why taking her advice (Anna) she blew the chance of winning. This view of Anna seemed odd unless she knows something more than me. I wouldn't have taken the pawn. Luv Mom! Just listened to mom's analysis about playing her King forward with the pawn. Not sure how it would have gone since Mum didn't have too much time. Anna take it easy on your mom, my gal.
Was it a draw?
since when you play to lose ?
Please could you make a recap video like hikaru does.. Helps you andd keeps us hooked too
There will be a recap video in my main channel!
Anna help your mom..Mam Pia is annihilating for defense..i liked it.😊❤
she will have a very difficult time recovering from this one. the simple knight deflection sac wins the rook and an easy win.
Anna, please give your father a microphone when he comes to you or put your microphone between you and him on the table and turn up the gain volume. Sorry to say, it's very difficult to hear what he says.
I dont see this "win" at the end. If she took the pawn with the knight and you win knight and rook for a rook it is a dead draw
3:36:26 If white goes Nf5 with check, The black knight must capture the white knight leaving the black rook to be taken by the white rook. A rook vs a knight in an endgame between two grandmasters is far better and would allow Pia to win. Bad luck Pia you played an Amazing game!
@@asherhayes4527 oh yes, thanks. i missed it too
After Nf5+ the game is over and probably Ju Wenjun would have resigned. The best continuation from there leads into the endgame with Rook + Pawn vs Knight + Pawn. The rook is just too powerful at stopping the opponents king so the pawn is easy to promote. For fun I just played it against Stockfish and won quite easily and I'm a noob pretty much. It's heartbreaking that she missed such a simple tactic because she was focused on the draw. I would be so tilted after that...
@@orbital1337 yes, the old chess rule "every possible check and capture" would have won her a likely victory
@@orbital1337 Wenju fights to the end
She should have played the cow 😉. Great job tho!
only move she played fast, what a pity!
Your Mom is much better than her rating suggests.
She should have won that game with the Kn -F5 or F6 move.
Don't worry Anna , your mom will have more chance to beat her and become the woman's no 1
your mom is good at chess. she almost beat the best chess player in the world.
Mam.Pia, flexible even she is a senior player..i liked her defense 😊
Isn't the best Chess player in the world as you mentioned someone named Cagnus Marlsen.
Your mom almost beat the best female player in the world! This is SUCH a cool thing. Imagine it's hard not to be super proud.
:(
Ok
ok!
Tough one. Your mom is cool.
İ think your mom could have win the armageddon but she esas tilted too much
