Hi Paul😊 your tutorial here is so very encouraging and boosts my confidence to paint! You explain every single step including how to load the brush and knife with paint, how to apply the strokes, and most of all you present all with a happy, relaxed attitude. I appreciate your take on happy accidents- that they do happen and it’s not something to fret over- but a way to approach painting as a learning process. 🙃🙂😌Thank you for showing us that painting can be achievable and enjoyable. ✨😄🖌️🎨✨
Hi Stephanie - I've always held the belief that the desire to do something well out weighs talent. Ypur enthusiasm is the energy that will keep you learning and creating. Have a super painting week - Paul 🤗🤗
Thank you so much for the GREAT tutorial and manner in which you teach… Bob is great and super fun but you are an AMAZING painter and teacher…. Thank you. You have helped me bridge the gap from watching bob and actually being able to do the techniques…
Hi Annie - you're a sweetie 🥰. Thank you for all the comments and inspiration I've gotten from your amazing art. For amyone else reading this go visit Annie's channel. Be ready to fall in love with her amazing paintings www.youtube.com/@AnnieTroe
You are very welcome. Gaining some confidence is key. As is some early success! If you can paint something really nice to be proud of then its like a little battery to power your next painting. Now remember - not everything you paint will be a hit. Goodness knows I've painted many that were just good firelighters. But, there were some that made my heart sing. These are the ones you look at when your happy accidents happen! Best wishes Paul 😃😍😎
Wow, thank you also for the donation to the paint funds. I self fund the channel and your kind contribution will help me buy more paints and materials. 😃😍😎
I love that Paul, and I love your teaching style. It is a lot more relaxing than the style of an older brother I had. He was not an artist, but if showing someone how he wanted something done he had very little patience and was very loud and abrasive. A mistake might lead to him stomping a mudhole in you and then stomping it back dry. I much prefer your style of teaching lol. I love the painting and want to save the video and try it soon. Thank you.
Hi Aaron - it takes all sorts and some folk are not very patient especially siblings! Teaching art has been a passion for many years and like any new skill it takes time to learn. I've always been blessed with a patient temperament. As long as folk are willing to learn I'll show them how I do it warts and all. 😃 Have a great week - Paul
Peinture heureuse - Paul 🥰🥰
Thank you so much Steve. Its just a round up of tips and tricks that helped me along the way. I have to thank lots of other folk for their help too. 😃😎
Great painting Paul and you have cleared up some mistakes I have been making especially likes the tip on the mountain painting bumping the edges...will be giving this painting a go....thanks Paul
Where do you purchase those particular air tight containers for the liquid white? By the way, your videos are SO instructive. Very informative and enjoyable.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. Painting and teaching has been a passion for many years so I'm pleased your enjoying the videos. The pots are from a local chain of household goods called The Range (UK). But they are a common sort of snap on lid food container available in most countries . Top tip: don't use screw lid containers!! The treads get paint on them and the lids weld themselves shut. Only very hot water softens the paint enough to get the lid off. Worse still you'll have to do this every time no matter how careful or how much you clean the treads. Have fun.😃
@@PaulRansonArt I've noticed that. I think I almost tore a ligament in my hand trying to unscrew a lid one time 😅. Thanks again for the reply, the feedback, and the videos 👍🏻
I was given a great piece of advise by one of my teacher trainers way back when I started painting. She said 'use a photo for refrence , you don't have to marry it! ' And she was so right. If you paint something you like then thats the goal. Likely as not no one will ever see the photo unless you show it to them or theye're on the same wall together. happy painting - Paul 😎
Well done Maria. I'm pleased you found a way of painting with a different brush. Sometimes we like one brush more than another - keep on painting and having fun - Paul 😃🥰😎
I challenge you to use water mixable oil's you can use zinc white with linseed oil mix them and make Magic white just use about 50% white and about 50% linseed oil I don't think you will take this challenge yours ken
Hi Ken - I did a series of three paintings using water mixable oils during the Covid lockdown. I applied water mixable linseed oil directly to the canvas and blotted off the excess. I then applied water mixable titanium white to the canvas to get a wet on wet surface. I used water mixable oils to create 3 beginner paintings (still life , seascape and landscape) It worked great 😃
Hey Steven - thanks for watching my videos. It really helps my little channel stand out from the crowd! I'm sure Bob could top me if he had more time. In fact I'e seen his paintings from his own collection and there amazingly detailed. Now that would be great to see. - Have a great day 😃
