Dad of twins here. We were almost off the binkies by the age of 2 but then COVID got in the house by the daycare and we needed it as Parent to be able to rest. Since then, as soon as they arrive home they have it in their mouth. Tried lots of things, impossible to make it disappear. It’s yelling in stereo in the house
I was blessed, my daughter never took a binky. However, my nephew was addicted. He's 16 months old. I made him throw them in the mailbox. He started to throw a tantrum, but I ignored him. Told mom to not mention the word. He's good now.
My son has the open bite now at 14 months. I just snipped our last one 😮💨 RIGHT in front of him. He seen the process. Didnt cry but was confused. He understands “all done” and says all done in sign language. And we just kept repeating all done as he chewed the snipped paci. Just got him down for a nap, i still breastfeed so it was easy. But he wakes frequently and puts his paci in on his own to fall back asleep. Worried about what to do about that! But i guess we’ll see 😬
Pls help my son is abt to complete 3 years and i think little bit open bite started and he is addicted, I am still trying but in night he want pacifier while sleeping.. Pls let me know what to do..
Mine is 2.5 almost three and autistic.. And she IS ADDICTED TO THAT BINK. and I think her teeth are starting to form that upper over bite . I'm really nervous but speech therapist said that if its for comfort and not all day its okay.... *but it is all day* 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s not ok either way. That handicaps autism even more. I know a child who has tantrums on days she wants to suck her thumb. If her parents would have stopped her earlier, she wouldn’t be as bad with tantrums.
@@Dree03 thats what I said I get concentrating statements. Obviously its not good it'll mess up her teeth and speech and then that its fine, only for comfort and baby teeth fall out her adult teeth will be fine. So I'm having a lot of trouble there
My biggest concern is the way my 15 month olds teeth are curving. I can see that shape and it worries me. I didn't get taken off of mine until I was 3 and it definitely effected my teeth
Plz tell me what you done with that my daughter is also 15 month old she keeps her feeder in mouth many times at night and her jaw is curved now and i am so depressed
Hi doctors,u both r funny..pls tell me one thing,my daughter is 2.5 yrs old and she constantly puts pacifier in her mouth, due to this her upper teeth have a gap and they are coming upwards, not straight line, when she smiles they look they are out..wat can i do?will tey to cutt off the tip today itself
With my 3 year old son he only used it at night and naptime... we are on day 6 of him screaming crying for for 4 hours until he falls asleep at night and has eliminated naps... any tips? I also have a 4 month old baby and he doesn’t use one at all. Pacifier fairy, placing in a teddy, damaged pacifier... none of this will work for him he doesn’t even make true connection of he’s a big boy and pacifiers are for baby’s.... HELP!!!
Brittany Bottoms 🤭 my son will be 3 in a couple months. I’m on day 2 of the screaming and crying 😭 he’s losing it !! I need tips also, I’m giving up already ☹️
Crystal Light the last 4 days I’ve been telling my son soon we will be putting pacifier in the trash because he is a big boy and we don’t need them anymore and even mommy and daddy are throwing theirs away (we have some extra from he new baby we can throw out) and he repeats it back to me that he is throwing pacifier in he trash and I just go over and over it several times a day and in a few weeks we will bring him to the dumpster and let him throw it in along with ours ... hope it works and doesn’t take weeks like our first try
@@brittanybottoms6046 my son turned 3 in December and he’s still using his. Like your son, he only uses it at night. what did you do? When did your son stop using his paci? I’m so stressed!
@@crystalthompson1997 hang in there. It’s hell for a while but eventually it will work. We ended up explaining to him 1 week before that he’s a big boy and in 1 weeks time he would be too big for a pacifier and he would get to throw his pacifier in the dumpster himself. We hyped it up every single day and counted down. Then the day came and there was no backing down. He was excited to throw the pacifier away. He did it. Sure naps and nights were extremely though for a while but eventually he got over it. Think of it as a little bit of hell to go through but it will be worth it in the end and it won’t seem so bad. You got this!
My daughter is exactly 2 1/2… there was a terrible situation where she wasn’t able to be with me for a little over a year of her life. Within that year the people who had her started giving her a pacifier. Which I begged them to give her the better brands.. they gave her the one that most hospitals will give newborns so their mouths will still be able to latch while breastfeeding. For 8 months of her life she never ever ever wanted one & never used one. I have been trying to break this habit for 6 months now. She will not switch to any others bc again the people that had her didn’t listen to me & thought they knew best. PLEASE HELP ME! She’s starting to get what I call a rainbow bite. I have no idea how to take it. She’s been thru so much trauma in her short life I don’t want to cause any more. Maybe I’m the problem bc I keep giving in. But please please please help. I don’t want her to be stuck having to have serious surgeries later in life. I just want to fix this problem now.. I begged at her first birthday but I can no longer blame anyone other than myself bc I should’ve taken it as soon as she came home. Please reach out to me & give me any tips or tricks that worked for you or someone you know 😭😭😭😭😭
I was set on not using a paci. I tried breastfeeding her for comfort... and then she profusely puked.. So we gave in and let her have a paci. I don't regret it. She loves sucking, but gets pissed if she's on the boob when she's not hungry. Every baby is different. They have different preferences for having a paci or not, and different intensities in their need to suck.
I didn't used pacifier for my daughter but when she was almost 6 months old she got eczema and she was on bottle feed so at nights she liked to keep her bottle most of the time in her mouth when i tried to take that she started scratching so i gived her bottle and now she is 15 months old and i can clearly see her jaw shape uneven and now i cry mostly watching her its all my fault 😭
My daughter is showing the open bite now. I feel like such a failure for letting it go so long but it's such a comfort to her. Omg I'm an enabler.
I feel the same lol
How old was she when you noticed the open bite?

I love their acting 😂😂
this vid definitely made me laugh while all the others on the subject, made me anxious, dreadful, and nervous.
thank you!
We are currently on day 2 of no "binky" with my 3 year old and it's been tough. We are not giving in though! Pacifier has gotta go!

Same in my case too😂😂
Thank you! I can get my kid pumped up about smashing stuff with the truck. I just need to get him to put his binx under the tire safely.
This is awesome 😂

Great Video!!!
Im lucky enough that our twin sons are not addictted to their binkies. I believe they stop using it at age 6-7 months.

Ok not doing hot sauce!!!! But my baby hates the taste of egg so should we dip the dummy in egg yolk? Hahaha

My 2 year old wont go to bed without a pacifier....once he falls asleep I took it away
That’s my kid as well we tried breaking it in half but it’s not working might try other methods
fantastic lol
I’m 11 and I just got off of the binky 😢😅

It will also mess up their speech. Ik a child that still can’t speak correctly at the age of 2 and she stopped around 1.5

My kids never use Binky’s
My kids never use pacifier. They are useless! Just breastfeed your baby. And if they get fuzzy, calm them down. No pacifiers needed seriously 😒
Lady, that’s your opinion. Not every mother can breastfeed, that’s very biased of you.
Why are you here then?
Parents use it because it prevents SIDS. When they are sleeping
