I agree with 2 fly if you not trying to cheat what do you have to hide let them check the tires and race. If you show up with a slick based tire you lose it is easy to check but you have to feel the tire not just look at it.

Yeah The race was originally set to be the full qtr mile but there was a bad accident earlier that night and they’d didn’t think it was safe so they switched to 1/8th

Shootout is basically a winner take all tournament with multiple cars. A grudge race is a locked in race between two cars , one on one.

Back in the day I had a 78 Malibu with Nitrous nozzles under the intake manifold and the Nitrous solenoid under the dashboard.
I ran the Nitrous line through a fake battery cable the car had two battery but only one was charged so it looked legit.
My Nitrous bottle was behind my back seat .
In the older cars they used plywood for the backing of the back seat .
So I put the bottle between the plywood and the back seat .
I had two speakers on the back deck .
I'd lift one speaker up to turn on the bottle .
And I had this set up on a small block
So we get a race against a 1969 chevelle big block car on slicks .
We was on slicks as well .
We told the guy we didn't have Nitrous so he could use his .
To make a long storey short we smoked his ass .
He came back yelling I know that car has Nitrous I heard it come on when you shifted into second.
Then they wanted to look at my car I Said go ahead .
They didn't find anything I thought forsure they would see the solenoid under the dashboard but they didn't
