- Fresh off a gold medal win at the Asian Games in Jakarta, during which he also created a national record, Neeraj Chopra is clearly one of the most promising young athletes in the country. On Walk The Talk with Shekhar Gupta, the 20-year old javelin thrower discusses his choice of sport, rigorous training schedule, and his aim to break the world record. The young talent from Haryana had earlier this year also won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games and had previously held the junior world record.

This is journalism of the highest order. Extremely knowledgeable, you can see that he researched thoroughly before the interview. He eased into a respectful conversation, and didn't make it awkward for Neeraj by asking irrelevant questions. Most reporters these days do not care to put in the effort.

Once he decided to give up throwing, he needs to be given sports administration responsibilities with full authority. We need champions to develop champion mentality.. not some politician who’s never physically worked out in his life time
Sport administration is a speciality, you don't have to be a sportsperson. Manisha Malhotra from JSW Sports has for example played big role in both Abhinav bindra and Neeraj's gold quest. She is also ex tennis player but more than that she is a good manager.

He was the biggest prospect of Gold 🏅 for India. I remember an article in Newspaper 1 month back with him labelling as the biggest prospect. It was half page about him.
He has junior world record in Javelin throw which he created in 2016 itself and that was even better than Rio Olympics bronze medal performance. So those who follow sports other than cricket, they always knew about his potential in Olympics.
