They didnt make the description for throw incomplete. You can't perform a throw off of just a dodge, you perform the throw by striking them, in the post-dodge slow-mo state, to stun them. You can then throw once they're stunned by the post-dodge attack.

It does damage but will not kill an opponent and is therefore a useful tool when trying to spare a boss but their hp is low. You can see it in this video at 1:37 with what I am assuming is an inverted duck strike
Great video, Djisso. But it also should be noted that when sparing a boss, you DO NOT want to deplete their health completely or it will result in you automatically killing them. And also also, you have to be in VERY close range of the boss to be able to spare them.

Some extra hints to spice up your gameplay - when you do a hook intercept during an attack coming at you, you are still able to parry if you time it well. Same with the backwards duckstrike.
The flowing claw is also my favorite as it can prepare you to attack an enemy you were facing in even more ways. The push kick is a great follow-up, the backwards duck strike, back fist, even just the sweep.

Sometimes I feel like you have to kill even fewer enemies for the next one to turn And also I was playing earlier today and a random normal enemy turn, which was very unusual
@@Djisso actually, for master difficulty, I don’t feel as if much has changed. I say this because I legitimately played through both master and disciple one after the other, and pretty much encountered the same amount of elite opponents. The reason I started this comment was to say that I’d suggest just beating the game/maxing your skills before attempt an age 20 run. @maxleveladventures I know I probably should, but I love to challenge myself when I play these types of games, even if the game itself is really challenging. That's why I always play on max difficulty too (Unless it's just a perma-death, in which cause I'm not gonna torture myself that much)

Hey! Along multiple times of this video, you permformed a combo that consists in: >> Push/throw a enemy in someway > follow up with light > THROW IT AGAIN after the punches > follow up with heavy (knocks the enemy to the ground); My question is: how do you do that??? I'm trying to throw the enemy after the light attack follow up but don't know how to do it. If this still can be done (not patched), can you teach me how to do it?
Hi DJISSO, thanks for the tips and tricks! To sum up the 20 minutes of this video, your main advice seems to be to keep practising, replaying, and unlocking all these skills. However, there are a couple of things missing from your guide: - You didn’t specify how many times we need to unlock each skill to make it permanent, which would be helpful to know. - The video showcases your top skills in the game, but it doesn’t explain how you reached that level or what the training process/experience was like. I hope this feedback doesn’t come across the wrong way, I really appreciate your guidance! It’s just that not every gamer has the same flexibility to pull off all these moves as you do. I’ve only put in about 15 hours of play, and my hands are so sore I might have to learn to play with my elbows! My controller looks nearly bent out of shape. 😅
I just wanted to say thanks man. I love fighting games and I was an Absolver master, almost nobody could beat me but when it came to Sifu I just didn't understand the "flow of combat". I really wanted to like this game but I didn't understand what the game was trying to get me to do sometimes. I'll be picking this game back up with the insight you gave me Edit: omg I couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to do the pushback. I thought I was doing something wrong, THANK YOU
Honestly, I felt just as clueless before. I was somewhat struggling with the inputs (direction Based) and didn’t actually utilize the skills I unlocked. I spent a lot of time with the game and it became clearer the more I played. I haven’t had the greatest experience with Absolver but I am also a big fan of fighting games ✨ And you are very welcome !!!! I also wanted to give up on the push back cancel, thinking it just didn’t work lol
for directional throw after dodge, you still need to punch them so no, you cant use it right after dodge but i understand what you mean, but would be nice if you said that i need to punch first
4:00 Came back to the game after months I think the matter for the enraged warriors is just their health bar, if they have that glow in the middle, you should not try a take down unless they're low on life (Not sure)
"Thats why you should focus on 3-4 skill" me who just started and replayed almost every lvl 10+ times and permanent all the skills before the final boss 😭
I just got this game when it released on steam and videos like this are so helpful. The game is fun, but it also seems kinda bad at teaching the player how to actually play the game past the basic mechanics. It also seems like a lot of the enemies have attack patterns that aren’t reactable and have to be learned/memorized, which also hurts initial playthroughs. Also, the final boss being immune to focus moves is really scummy. Very frustrating game, but super fun when you start getting the hang of it.
You should do a quick video on weapons located in areas people may not know about or just easy to miss. Like for example, in The Tower when Jinfeng rings her bell and disappears and you defeat the 3 females and then jump down into the area with the 3 guys and the juggernaut, many don't know that there's a broom in that dark area directly behind you. I watched many Sifu related videos and no one ever acknowledged that little area which lead me to assume they were unaware of it.
Such mastery! Maybe one day I too can chain throws and sweeps as effortlessly as Cronus. At present, I cannot throw without blocking or sweep at the end of a combo
I had no idea about the directional inputs of certain moves. Now it makes sense as to why it wouldn't work half the time. Can you turn this off in the settings?
Got the platinum fairly easily, I mainly used the ⏹️⏹️⏹️🔼 combo and 🔼🔼🔼🔼 combo to get them on the ground so I could do extra damage, I didn’t bother much with parrying unless it was slow punches I saw coming instead I just held block and dodged and if the dodge is off he still blocks, you can easily beat the game just doing that, bosses are easy too but you will need to dodge them
I like how you described the Combos using Emojis, that’s Brilliant ‼️ And Yeah, the game isn’t hard but some mechanics need to be understood before you can have a good time. And I think Parrying overall is better and easier than trying to dodge since you don’t have to worry about Lows and Highs
I got the Plat in 5 hours in my second time playing the ps5 version. The game is quite easy and enjoyable on the student difficulty. Honestly the throw after a dodge was the best advice I got from this video. Made managing groups much more doable.
@@t7mf I said it was easy and enjoyable on student, I don't see where the flex is tbh but I guess platting it in 5 hours ain't much of a flex either lmao
You uploaded this today, and yet last night I finally completed my age 20 run on Master difficulty. What timing lmao. Still the best platinum I ever unlocked honestly.
The timing is immaculate ✨ And I like it when games have easy/not so easy platinum to get. I would have made it so that the trophy for beating the game younger is 20 instead of 25 to give us ever more challenge But overall, it was a very straightforward experience with no grinding involve
For obvious reasons i changed my dodge to 'B/o'. I cannot however seem to apply takedown and directional push to any button combos. Takedown I have sorted. I can't seem to find a combination available for directional throws. Any ideas?
Btw the game does tell you that you can throw enemies after a dodge. It tells you that they are stuned after being hit right after a dodge or parry and then tells you that you can throw stuned enemies in the opening tutorial
Agreed, I was about to comment that just now. You can't actually throw the enemy directly after a dodge, you have to punish them first. Even if you strike them after a dodge but outside the punish window, you still won't be able to throw them
Is it normal in training mode to only have the gangster because when I tried to change the enemy It wouldn't let me nor would it let me change the enemy level it would only let me change how many there were I'm confused.
Had the same issue coming back after beating the game last year - you need to run through the hideouts again and beat each enemy once (if you havent since the Training patch was released). As you beat enemies, they will start appearing in Training.

Does restarting a level makes you lose moves? Before starting the club level I used to have the crotch kick (up up triangle) the turning grab, the charged hook (block + triangle) and after I restarted that mission a couple of times then went to menu, they were gone. Thx a lot for your guide ✌️ it's one of the most interesting Guides how to Sifu and it deserves the Masterguide Titel. Shame on me I didn't already thumb up and comment as I beginned 3 days ago better on it after your Guide. I never needed any "how to fight" in a Game but my confused Sifu beated up ass told me about my needings. Your Guide is brilliant and it saved a lot of time to me but it's not ultimate, only thing I had from elsewhere cause it's not in your guide is about what to pick at the shrines. After all I think Structure is very Importent but Health recovery seems obviously also too. What are Sifus favorite and recommended Shrine Attributes to pick?
You are very welcome !🥋 The reason why I didn’t include the bonuses is because I made a separate video a while ago about the shrines locations and what Bonuses to get. The second reason is that the bonuses you would get vary from one player to the next. I never got the health on takedown bonus for example because you already get HP from shrines and killing enemies. That bonus feels way too overkill And depending on your runs, the bonuses you get will always change. I don’t use weapons for example. So I never invest in weapon Durability or weapon Damage. But If I was going for a speedrun, then I would consider those as they save a lot of time Recently, I have been doing multiple challenges involving not interacting with any shrines. Health management is key and I would say that the two bonuses which will always make a different are the Structure upgrade and Parry impact. Parrying/Dodging are core mechanics in the game and if you can get the most out of them, then thats always a good thing
@@Djisso Since ever Dodge and Parry is King at good Fighting Games to me too and I love it 👍. I'm doing the same, easy peezy
Best tip is jumping the ledges and throwing people off ever since i played sifu for the first time i did that non stop i found it funny but great guide and tips
Jumping the ledges must be so annoying from the NPC perspective 😆
Hey! Along multiple times of this video, you permformed a combo that consists in:
>> Push/throw a enemy in someway > follow up with light > THROW IT AGAIN after the punches > follow up with heavy (knocks the enemy to the ground);
My question is: how do you do that??? I'm trying to throw the enemy after the light attack follow up but don't know how to do it.
If this still can be done (not patched), can you teach me how to do it?
Hi DJISSO, thanks for the tips and tricks! To sum up the 20 minutes of this video, your main advice seems to be to keep practising, replaying, and unlocking all these skills. However, there are a couple of things missing from your guide:
- You didn’t specify how many times we need to unlock each skill to make it permanent, which would be helpful to know.
I'll be picking this game back up with the insight you gave me
Edit: omg I couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to do the pushback. I thought I was doing something wrong, THANK YOU
Honestly, I felt just as clueless before. I was somewhat struggling with the inputs (direction Based) and didn’t actually utilize the skills I unlocked. I spent a lot of time with the game and it became clearer the more I played. I haven’t had the greatest experience with Absolver but I am also a big fan of fighting games ✨
And you are very welcome !!!!
I also wanted to give up on the push back cancel, thinking it just didn’t work lol
for directional throw after dodge, you still need to punch them so no, you cant use it right after dodge but i understand what you mean, but would be nice if you said that i need to punch first
Regarding inputtkng direction upon using a skill. All of the ones i have used have been default (the same for an enemy in every direction)
4:00 Came back to the game after months
I think the matter for the enraged warriors is just their health bar, if they have that glow in the middle, you should not try a take down unless they're low on life
(Not sure)
Hopefully this helps me, I just beat the snowy lady boss with 61 age old, I’m very bad at this game. 😅
And hopefully I can get the platinum.
"Thats why you should focus on 3-4 skill"
me who just started and replayed almost every lvl 10+ times and permanent all the skills before the final boss 😭
I was skeptical but this video is awesome
Thank you very much my dude
Thaaankiou kind Fellow !!
It took quite some time to put this video together 🥹
Many good tips to improving my kung-fu in this game, thank you master 🙏🏻
You Are welcome fellow Sifu
Regarding deflections not breaking posture, this is also seen in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
That’s an idea 🤔
I looked for all the Weapons in the game for a possible Weapon only run but that wasn’t happening because they break too fast
@Batcow153 yeah I discovered it just curiously walking back there like wow lol

Got my Sifu platinum today, believe me i can finally Rest now...
Got the platinum fairly easily, I mainly used the ⏹️⏹️⏹️🔼 combo and 🔼🔼🔼🔼 combo to get them on the ground so I could do extra damage, I didn’t bother much with parrying unless it was slow punches I saw coming instead I just held block and dodged and if the dodge is off he still blocks, you can easily beat the game just doing that, bosses are easy too but you will need to dodge them
I like how you described the Combos using Emojis, that’s Brilliant ‼️
And Yeah, the game isn’t hard but some mechanics need to be understood before you can have a good time. And I think Parrying overall is better and easier than trying to dodge since you don’t have to worry about Lows and Highs
Thankyou I’m starting to understand
If i beat lowest difficulty do any skills transfer over to higher difficulties after beating the game?
Yes it transfers the skills
I got the Plat in 5 hours in my second time playing the ps5 version. The game is quite easy and enjoyable on the student difficulty. Honestly the throw after a dodge was the best advice I got from this video. Made managing groups much more doable.
Platinum in 5 hours, respect 👏🏼
And Yeah, The directional throw is a Godsend
@@Djisso thank you
Bros flexing about beating it on student
@@t7mf I said it was easy and enjoyable on student, I don't see where the flex is tbh but I guess platting it in 5 hours ain't much of a flex either lmao
@Jo for sure! Imagine platting it in 5 hours on the hardest difficulty.
You uploaded this today, and yet last night I finally completed my age 20 run on Master difficulty. What timing lmao. Still the best platinum I ever unlocked honestly.
The timing is immaculate ✨
And I like it when games have easy/not so easy platinum to get. I would have made it so that the trophy for beating the game younger is 20 instead of 25 to give us ever more challenge
But overall, it was a very straightforward experience with no grinding involve
For obvious reasons i changed my dodge to 'B/o'. I cannot however seem to apply takedown and directional push to any button combos. Takedown I have sorted. I can't seem to find a combination available for directional throws. Any ideas?
I finally managed to get hold of this a month ago really struggling your video is amazing and helpful that you
Amazing work. Thanks!

Btw the game does tell you that you can throw enemies after a dodge. It tells you that they are stuned after being hit right after a dodge or parry and then tells you that you can throw stuned enemies in the opening tutorial
Ooh That’s an oversight on my part then
Agreed, I was about to comment that just now. You can't actually throw the enemy directly after a dodge, you have to punish them first. Even if you strike them after a dodge but outside the punish window, you still won't be able to throw them
Thx 4 the attention to the details, Sifu
Always a pleasure 👊🏼
Thank you for the tutorial, now i think i can beat master sean easily :p
You definitely have the upper hand now since Sean didn’t watch this Video

Is it normal in training mode to only have the gangster because when I tried to change the enemy It wouldn't let me nor would it let me change the enemy level it would only let me change how many there were I'm confused.
Had the same issue coming back after beating the game last year - you need to run through the hideouts again and beat each enemy once (if you havent since the Training patch was released). As you beat enemies, they will start appearing in Training.
needed it, thx man
Here theres a skill to 1 shot some enemys that treu?

@@Zanomito no I don’t think so. Pretty sure I just gave up.
@@DoctorSess u should try again. Just remember you can duck all of Sean's attacks in phase 1 and you'll only take a bit of damage from sweeps in the second phase. Also use weapons on the side. It's definitely worth completing

I fear no Souls game...
But that thing (Sifu), scares me.
I disagree with the directional throw description being incomplete: when you perfect dodge, the punish stuns the enemy so you can perform a throw
Technically you stunned the guy as the description said, I don’t see what’s missing
But it’s just nitpicking great video
Well, when you Say it that way 🤔
It makes a whole lot of sense since you cannot directly throw post dodge !
Nice one 👊🏼
Now looking for the codes you hid them well😅
I am particularly proud of how I hid one of them 👀
I saw one but it’s not the same as in the special vid is it normal?
Oh I changed the font and sometimes even color of the text for the codes
Thanks for the video it was very informative.
You are welcome,
May we all become Sifu 🥋
My man siad let me tell you stuff the devs won't. Then proceeded to pronounce everything with a W or D
As a god tier Sifu player, having spent 7 million years into the game, I can confirm Kuroki is one of the boss of all time
I just want some tips for Kuroki since I can't seem to hit her. It's such an epic battle after Sean, who telegraphs all his movements
Her main attack can be dodged, just remember it's high low high low (or the inverse I can't exactly remember) and then punish her. If you carry a weapon on hand you can block her strikes otherwise and then punish. For phase two, deflect or avoid her main combo and throw back her kunai, be sure to rush her if this stuns her
Does restarting a level makes you lose moves? Before starting the club level I used to have the crotch kick (up up triangle) the turning grab, the charged hook (block + triangle) and after I restarted that mission a couple of times then went to menu, they were gone. I only have the sweep, palm strike and the counter you do after parriying
You need to perma unlock them
@@Silkier I think I got the hang of it now
how the hell you do those longa ss combos... damn
how do you time the Flowing Claw
Wow, great stuff! I have just started out and am so confused and totally suck. As you note the guide does a piss poor job of describing the crucial mechanics
What? I always get enemies when I restart an area. I don't spawn right near the boss
Weird because it always and still works
Whenever you leave the game while fighting a boss, you will be brought back before the boss fight with no enemies to face
"You can parry every attack in the game." - Should be on the box art.
@@JooshMaGoosh I never misunderstood it, they made it clear that structure breaking attacks can be deflected
I love this game and no death ran it I want to see if I did something the stupid way
The good thing, you keep learning new ways to refine your skills, even after beating the game
You should do an updated video since the release of the major update
I did what you said to do for starting at max age but it didn't work
What are you playing on ? Thats weird
If you successfully let yourself die until age 75 and back up those saves, there is no reason why it shouldnt work 😓
How do I get back to trainingmode?

I beat Yang at age 29 last night! But I still want to spare him before turning 30... Great video!
Haha why 30 though ? Why not 20 🤔
@@Djisso haha I'm good but that good! I'm kind of doing this for the screenshots so 29 or younger gets the same appearance. But maybe one day I'll be 20! So far I've only beaten squats at age 20.
Haha, I understand the screenshot thingy. I kinda like the apparence of the character when he hits 40 and I wish you could chose the model of the outfits 😕

I play this on easy and i still struggle with this game! I'm not new to gaming or fighting games at alllll i guess i just suck at this game. Which really breaks my heart beyond belief because i waited for this game for forever! I love fighting games so freaking much! I want to not struggle with this games so badly!! I do well in the training part of the game yet fail during the main game.. I just wish so badly i could play this and get the amazing feelings of satisfaction beating up bad guys.. But im afraid ill never experience that.. Its caused me to stop playing it. When you struggle that much at a game the fun factor fly's out the window.. Am i the only one struggling like this ?! Honestly?!?! I accidentally the very beginning of the game. The part where you fight and look for the kung fu sifu. Man if the fighting was like that i would do just fine! Man that felt so amazing! The best feeling of any fighting games I've ever played. I thought man this is going to be amazing! But nope. The rest of the game is way harder than the very beginning. I will probably get slack forthis from the immature individuals.. The children. If your that person grow up seriously
I started on student and its a good way to learn the game imo. you can also carry over your skill unlocks to a disciple or master save qhen you want to crank it up!
its a tough game. it took me a good few goes to beat it on student and I'm still yet to beat it on disciple

Lol, no wonder that pushback cancel never worked. I though I was doing it at the wrong time.
For the Longest time, I thought it was a meme skill. It was only there to keep you warm at night
How do you can get 3 enemy at the training??
You just go in training mode and select a random enemy type which is not a boss and on the same menu, you will see the option to increase the number of enemies
Are outfits available only in the console versions?Because I finished the game sparing everyone but the wardrobe is not there and I don't have any challenges
The outfits should be available for every platforms 😓
And the challenges should pop up once you beat the game at least once so that’s weird that you dont see any
@@Djisso I finished the game playing as a girl is that why?Do I have to play as the boy if yes that's weird
What was the default difficulty before the update !?
It was the disciple difficulty
Thank you for covering pushback cancel

You are very welcome !🥋
The reason why I didn’t include the bonuses is because I made a separate video a while ago about the shrines locations and what Bonuses to get. The second reason is that the bonuses you would get vary from one player to the next.
I never got the health on takedown bonus for example because you already get HP from shrines and killing enemies. That bonus feels way too overkill
And depending on your runs, the bonuses you get will always change. I don’t use weapons for example. So I never invest in weapon Durability or weapon Damage. But If I was going for a speedrun, then I would consider those as they save a lot of time
Recently, I have been doing multiple challenges involving not interacting with any shrines.
You Rock for real in this Game Dude, best Sifu Tuber I've found so far when I mention how you can punish Kuriko for example.
What you said about shrine picks is an interesting point of view too.
Very glad of your Guides buddie and thx for the informations.
