Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_...) is an arcade game based on the TMNT cartoon released in December of 1987. Konami released this mega-hit in 1989, as one of the first arcade games to offer 4-player beat-'em-up action.
In this run, DarkKobold (tasvideos.org/DarkKobold.html) uses all 4 ninja turtles to freak the foot soldiers, mangle the mousers, total the Technodrome, and kick Krang and The Shredder back to Dimension-X in a little over 12 minutes. - Ігри
I played this game a lot as a kid. Loved it, but could never get very far (you know, cuz money). I'd get a little farther each time, but never really made it to the end by myself.
And then a fateful day happened. I wandered up to the game. Two other guys came up, and then a third. We all joined in. Now, I'd played with others before, but this was something special. We all synced. Like we'd been playing together for years. Pizzas weren't bum-rushed, and they went to the guy most in need. Flanks were watched. The Foot never got the chance to completely surround us. We kicked ass, right through the end. I maybe had to rebuy in once the entire run. When it was over, we all clapped hands together, and went about our lives. In the long run, it meant very little except as a fond memory. But to a young kid, it meant everything in that moment.
Arcades truly were a special place.
ok
I absolutely love your story❤❤❤❤❤
this feels like I am watching a actual episode of the show
You are not wrong
That is true
It is.
I remember playing the arcade at a local pub (whenever my parents took us there for a treat/dinner) but I mostly played the NES port over and over and over again. I loved this game as a kid.
You know, I remeber the game sounding much better in my memory back when I played it in an arcade....
Probably because of the ambient noise from other machines. That's my guess.
Keoki Wood You aren’t wrong - this one’s an updated version of a prior run, and whatever emulator was used for that emulated all the sounds much better. That’s the price of progress, I guess...
It's this emulator that makes the game sound like shit.
Anyone noticed an extra head on Donatello's leg at 7:33? Look closely at that quick glance just before they say "WE'VE GOT TO SAVE SPLINTER!"
yes!!!!
@@sergiooliva3431 He has two brains!
I just realized the lives on the turtles are 12, 28, 19, 87...
Meaning that the TV series started airing weekly on December 28, 1987 (not counting the pilot)
This speedrun went by so quickly, the drummer couldn't even make it to the studio in time.
Krang: I am invincible
12:25 whoops.
Nice that Spikestuff vs Trying to get old arcade TAS to sync war is still going. Thanks for archival work x
FIRE!
Hang o-

Splinter never finishes irl either when you had 4 12 year olds mashing the buttons lol.
In case of fire, use burning elevators
Awesome speedrun!
⚠ You are missing *one or more sound co-processors* in this game. The music may not sound correctly
I like how it was Mike who went to twitch on top on April
The Raphael hate is overwhelming in this run. Slanderous even.
The Trapcorp sign hides a trap behind it. Pretty clever!
0:42 Wow...that _was_ a nice apartment. Full of stuff. I hope her insurance covers all this...
7:20 Anyone notice they get into the van...only to immediately leap out of it?
ryan : morality
david : chastity
andrew : repentance
samuel : patriotism
peter : dignity
helen : ideal
The Quiet and Efficient Ninja Turtles.
"THIS IS HOW THEY DO IT!" -Montell Jordan
I remember in a previous encode there was still the quiet music but still with the other voices and stuff.
This encode feels like the music and some sounds are different, it's also missing some music notes.
took me like 20 coins to beat that game with friends.
Me too, two of them.
Took me 40 :O
@@ImmSpiderman2428 LOL 😂
That Epilogue...
"... escaped to dimention X."
sigh
What happened to the drums, orch hits, etc? And why are the speech samples much louder than the rest of the game?
This TAS got the game vaporized to milk shake.

Bunger.
And Raphael was a long for the ride. Lmao
Pretty much just 12 minutes of destruction lol. I think a 1 player TAS would be a bit more interesting.
Why do Raph like that?!
Busy telling jokes
