Absolutely love my sony xm5. Great connectivity on all platforms and devices, app is function frenzy! It is future ready as well.
Initial experience with foam tips was bad - ears suffered, but sony sent me full set of silicone tips for free. Also the default sound profile is not outstanding, but its not a problem for me cause equalizer makes wonders. The only downside - its not for sports, you will loose it easily while running it does not have wingtips and does not sit firmly.
It was hard decision to choose between Bose QC II and Sony XM5, but i'm happy with my selection because :
-Bose QCII lacks multipoint (only much more expensive Bose QC Ultra (330 USD) has it after newest updates)
-Bose QCII lacks God tier (highest sound quality) codec: LDAC
-Bose QCII lacks wireless case charging.
I bought XM5 for 190 USD, I think its unbeatable in price range of 200-250 USD.
Thanks buddy for this review, You just made my mind up!
@SoggyTissue well , how do you like it?
serious question: Can someone explain if the Anker Soundcore P40i are compatible with VHS players? i'm looking to upgrade my audio system for my vintage tech setup. thx in advance!
so are these google pixel buds pro actually good for underwater listening? bc the others didn’t live up to the hype when i tried swimming with them. looking for underrated but usable ones.
For all you guys obsessing over earbud bass, ever tried listening to music live? that's the real deal, not this watered-down earbud crap. earbuds could never capture the full awesomeness of a live concert, so just why even bother.
Okinuma t27 has crazy bass
Didn't put Huawei Freebuds Pro 4
That's crime!!!
Really these are all look like expensive & gorgeous.
I’m curious, does spending more on the earbuds mean spending less on streaming services? because it totally seems like that’s where all the budget goes lol. someone should def do a cost analysis on music listening habits.
Okay, serious question: where’s the mention of compatibility with cassette players? I have a vintage setup and need to know which of these high-tech buds can handle some retro vibes, lol. surely some folks are still rocking tapes, right?
can anyone tell me if any of these work well for underwater listening? because that’s like the one place i can imagine needing earbuds with all this water resistance stuff. otherwise it seems like a pointless feature for most ppl.
hey, are the Apple AirPods Pro 2 actually waterproof? i need something i can wear in the shower. My friend says they totally are, but I’m not sure.
High-end earbuds are only sweat resistant not waterproof
Skullcandy in God Tier?? lol, what a joke. i thought 2025 was all about sonic brainwave transmission. anyone still shoving plastic in their ears needs a reality check. telepathic sound projection should be the standard by now, honestly.
It says best bass earbuds. Skullcandy is questionable, but Bose should be god tier, Elite 10 and AZ80 in great tier and Airpods Pro 2 in average.
Putting Airpods Pro 2 in god tier for bass earbuds is pure fanboyism and frivolous. Even the Tune Buds blows them out of the water in terms of bass response!
okay serious question: Why don't they make bass-heavy earbuds that can work with my PlayStation 2? my old wired Sony headphones aren’t cutting it. Bluetooth is overrated anyway.
love how bose tries to make their earbuds sound premium with all their tech words. it’s just noise canceling, not a force field. these are the shoestring fries of earbuds, too hyped, less substance.
just gonna say it - i think the whole 'importance of bass' thing is overblown. all these bass-obsessed ppl are probably just trying to compensate for something. sure the thump is cool, but music has other elements too, y'know?
Honestly, buying expensive earbuds when you can have over-the-ear headphones with better sound quality for less money makes no sense. People who buy these are just walking advertisements for consumerism. Prove me wrong.
Headphones are completely different from earbuds, sound quality is not the only important feature yk
Travel that's who. The carry cases are horrendous for cans
lol Devialet Gemini II on GOOD tier?? these should be in the nope tier. anyone who buys them probably also invests in nft art. too much money, too little sense.
How are OnePlus buds still relevant? I thought they were bought out by that fruit company-Apple or something-years ago? Anyone still using them is like stuck in 2020. It’s all about neural implant audio now, get with the program, folks.
Wow
Sennheiser MOMENTUM in God Tier? Come on, they’ve always been overrated. These are basically just overpriced plastic. who pays premium price for average sound??
if you need bass, why waste money on ear buds? nothing beats the sound of a proper boom box. people who think earbuds can compete with real speakers are just plain delusional. you guys ever heard of headphones? way better than any of this earbud nonsense.
you ever heard of portability? you are the one who's delusional to think of whatever nonsense you are yapping about, most people prioritize portability that's why a lot of people are more into ear buds rather than headphones, it's also way more comfortable for the ears, whilst it's true headphones has better bass and battery life, ear buds are also convenient to a lot of people, and yeah friendly advice.. don't go yapping in the internet just looking in a one-sided perspective.
Dude I wanna be discreet with my audio I don't want big ass blocks on my ears
what about nothing
lol skullcandy smokin' buds in God Tier? clearly, you have no idea what good audio is. anyone who thinks these $25 earbuds are top-tier probably also thinks airline food is gourmet cuisine. 🥴
All these people hyping about active noise cancellation haven't used earmuffs before, which do the same job with zero battery drain. I can't take anyone serious who thinks earbuds can replace those. Put on some quality foam earplugs and call it a day.
You totally missed the point 🤦♂️ massive. We want noise canceling and to be able to hear my music well without hearing whatever else in the background. Ie cutting the grass weed wacking etc....
why do people spend so much money on earbuds with noise canceling when headphones do it 1000x better? y'all just want to throw money at shiny things with LEDs. grown men wearing earbuds, get real!
Me personally I got chronic tinnitus(constant ringing in my ears) and wearing headphones jus cancels out the outside noise which jus makes me hear the ringing louder, so ear buds are easier to wear and use, and I only use one earbud at a time and doing that with headphones is just annoying. And what kinda “real man” spends time writing a comment like that for no reason, there’s wireless headphones because there’s a market for it, and I can guarantee you you’ll see more earbuds that headphones outside
why are we even arguing about earbuds? real audiophiles know you gotta be listening in a soundproofed room with studio monitors. all you earbud users are just casuals with no taste in music. good luck hearing anything other than crappily reproduced bass lines.
People spending hundreds on earbuds is hilarious. just grab some wired headphones, they have better sound anyway. audiophiles just like wasting cash on useless stuff like this. anyone who disagrees? well, enjoy your overpriced wireless garbage.
