That would compromise the drone's element of surprise. If anything, militaries will try to make drones fly quieter, not louder.

The background audio of gunfire made me realize how accurate war games/movies were audiowise
those distant gunfire noises are added in post btw. the name of the video he got the audio from is called "1 hour distant gunfire sound effect".
That's been added in in post-production. The raw footage would have no audio.
Seems like drones have effectively made trench warfare “worse” than it was in WW1. Instead of no-man’s land you get fed into the grinder and are at risk of death whenever you expose yourself to the sky. Of course the immediate alternatives would be rapidly moving targets, swift attacks, and poured concrete bunkers for shelter. But it seems neither side has the time or resources for that! You’d also think that at some point counter-drone tech will ramp up, whereby the enemy can pinpoint the operator’s location and launch a short range guided missile at them.
I don't think humans holding ground is a viable option anymore. Quick moving attack and retreat to secure ground look like the key now. Held territory will be only denied/interdicted by drones. I think, the next generation will only employ more machines to invade/occupy/defend. Hopefully, AI does not rise to be a new threat making then the scenario of Terminator movies a reality. Haha. We will all see this before 2075 for sure.

@@a2ztrader To me the explosives didn’t seem really effective against these, so most likely damaged. Cool if it rendered them unusable, but doubtful.
@Soliye. It doesn't really take much to damage a weapon, the first one I'd say is likely unusable though the second one, none of the vogs landed close enough where I'd be comfortable thinking it's destroyed, though it likely is still somewhat damaged

its fucking scary how good Arnie is at aiming this nades, like dayum, that last nade was a fucking kobe.
Guess it's a result of practice and experience, like how soldiers assigned a 40mm say after enough practice they can just eyeball it pretty accurately without ever bothering to use the sights

CivDiv... can you explain a bit more on the mechanisms used on the drones to drop the grenades. As in the device they attach to the drone that releases the pin and drops it. Thank you for your service young man!!
The pins are already pulled and the striker lever is just held against the grenade. When the grenade is released, the striker lever also falls away from the grenade and starts the delay
they use the cup metod or a mecanic trapdor of some sort
Some of the drones ive seen being used are Mavic 3 and some are DJI Mavic 4 Pro. Short answer; it varies. Some are loaded as described by @andrewflemming5071 with others being home-made explosives rigged to an impact striker, or a short timer. Some utilize explosives packed into recycled materials, some are more 'professional' looking pieces utilizing 3D printed components. This is 85% from observation, and should not be taken as gospel, but it is definitely how they've done at least a big portion of business.

Civ Div can you explain what he was dropping before the last RGD into the bunker? Are they like improvised impact explosive’s?
They're VOG-17 grenades with 3d printed fin stabilizers fitted to the base and the inertia safety removed from the fuse and a pin jury-rigged to the detonator so it will explode on impact.

scary thing? drone efficiency can be improved dramatically with simple software that remembers first center of explosion and displays targetting dot. Not only it would improve targetting by a scare margin, it would bring the skill requirements for this kind of missions down
Also, these drones automatically compensate for wind when hovering to hold it's position. Based on that data you should be able to very accurately calculate current wind speed and direction.
But wait there's more
All you really need is software expert get few good IT fellas in and ask them to attach laser pointers for any laser guided munitions (be it dropped grenades or rocket launched from somewhere else)

Currently em drones are not designed to "carry" stuff and realese mechanisms are bit silly you can easily upgrade those

Same, my engineering mind tells me you could build an automous, slow but silent solar powered drone which flies to a specific GPS location (or multiple drones at once to many GPS locations) to leave some greetings for the head of this destruction. But I always hear the words (protect what you love, don’t destroy what you hate) when thinking about it. Also I don’t want to use my brain to kill some poor plebs who got sent there with no choice
@@eliaspfefferAutonomous killing machines is the last thing you would want. They could just as well turn on you. Also I dont think solar powered drones would feasible.
@@hybridwaferthis. Only need height from ground, then compensate X,Y position based on wind + falling height, for total movement to compensate for. Very simple maths. Draw a crosshair of the adjusted for position, where it will land, on the goggles/screen.
Could also just drop a similar drag stone, small item, that shows positional movement. Then fire real weapon when you've moved.

I wonder what would happen if they took those munitions, attached a plastic outer sleeve onto it with something highly flammable coating the inside of the sleeve against the round, might be a decent improvised incendiary weapon for taking on fighting positions such as this and burning out sensitive components/ hard to reach locations. At any rate if it was reasonably effective it would be cheaper than multiple he shrapnel drops if the fire caught that camo wrapping for those pkm’s and rendered them inoperable

@@shamil14basaev88 yep, the russians used those "thermobaric" drone grenades a lot during the avdivka assault. ive seen one footage where ukrainians just poping out of the trench burning and dying outside the trench while the others never came out. the first grenade was actually a tear gas to see if the trench is empty or not and to lure out the occupants.

Any ideas how high up he is? It seems like those Russians were clueless at 3:30. I have a mini 3 and can hear it barely at 400ft when it's above me, but if you add in more distance in any direction, she is gone. The mini is obviously not what was used here, but that's insane.
Edit: This can't be more than 300ft up. Wow.
They wear helmets which supress sounds plus perhaps ear protection to save ur hearing when they fire their PKM´s. If they did not do it their hearing can have gotten worse over the time. Plus war is loud, the ambience you hear is mixed to the video from CivDiv, but artillery makes a lot of noise.
Also they are probably just so used to it, im wagering they would hear then all the time, what can you do. War sucks

Civ Div, why aren't we seeing tunneling machines like contractors use? I just don't get why they don't get a bunch of contractors in to dig a blast resistant tunnel that goes beyond the enemy position.
Even if you only tunnel on your own side, to make better defences. It's a win.

Your tunnels were so successful in your previous mission.
Because they would be enormous, slow, easy to kill targets that simultaneously show everyone you're trying to dig a tunnel there.

Grenades throw metal shrapnel all over the place at a high velocity when they explode. They probably shredded up those guns pretty well. I'm sure someone with more experience could give you a more detailed answer or correct me if I'm wrong.

I wonder why they don't use incendiary methods? Much of that bunker looked flammable. If nothing else it could do material damage and clear out foliage that can act as camoflage.
