The reason South Park is able to be more edgy is because it's aired on cable tv while Family Guy is aired on broadcast tv. Family Guy is pretty edgy for broadcast tv. They even were taken off the air for a short time.
I mean South Park has also crossed the lines a couple times with TV execs... and whole entire countries lol
With streaming and dvd sales it doesn’t matter
They were taken down for bad viewership though when the show was still new and pretty mediocre. Nothing to do with them pushing 'edgy' content.

The guy that did clevlands voice didnt get sacked. He actually gave it up because he, hinself felt like it should go to a black voice actor instead.
But he still plays the voices of other characters in the show. Like the effeminate gay guy, he also plays his voice as well.
The person who took over Clevelands voice is an voice, is a person from UA-cam. By the name of "Azzers"

Normally I don't care about this stuff and I don't think they should ask people who have played characters for years to step down, but I do think that if they're doing characters that regularly play on 'racist tropes' like Apu or Cleveland, then an actor of that background should voice them going forward. Who can do a better Indian accent than an Indian person?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Most high school athletes can barely go sub-12… let alone sub-11. Sub-10 is another level, probably only a few hundred people can run sub-10. But, that doesn’t take away from the fact that running sub-11 is very, very difficult!

I have to agree with ThaSlymes. It's a pathetic move to bow down to public image like that for voice acting when it is just the voice skills that matter not what you look like.
It's downright racist to tell someone they can not voice act characters that aren't their color, race, etc. People don't seem to get that.

This reminds me of an incident that occured at this laundromat in ChinaTown...
We were all there to wash and dry clothes, of course.

The guy doing Cleveland voice was not forced out he voluntarily left the position. No one actually mind it I certainly didn't mind. People were more surprised that he was white but his voice was convincing

The voice actor for Apu in the Simpsons was unfairly fired for the color of his skin.
A VOICE Actor is there to VOICE act a character.
