I remember being in awe of Inception when it was first released, and I keep going back to it as a source of inspiration in many ways. The pacing of the story and atmosphere of Hans Zimmer’s score are relentless, and Christopher Nolan’s signature theme of the struggle to gain normalcy and intimacy in life is pervasive and compelling.
"Time" provides the musical backdrop for the film’s cathartic and ambiguous ending, and I wanted to recreate that feeling in an organic and bittersweet way. All sounds were made my a cello (and the clock in my bedroom haha). Thanks for listening!

A moment ago I was feeling really distraught thinking about my father's passing (his viewing was yesterday)....then this song came on my streaming device and brought me here. My daughter (a cellist) and I went to Candlelight Concerts and heard this. I seriously think just you and a looper pedal accomplished more than they did live. I understand how much work goes into making a recording like this, and I am ever grateful.

I play this on the piano, although I am a guitar player. I gave up any guitar arrangement a while ago, but your rendition encouraged me to try again. I found this pattern on my 12-string fretboard that manages to retain the emotion, and I hope my daughter and I can play this together now.

Only to fall all once more be back to the almost common, yet perpetually flowing melodic tones that both form the harmonic beauty and stay true to itself through out the process, pushed with those same driving, simple rhythms. Forming an eternal round that demonstrates the patterns the human life takes, the connections that form, and memories we make. A full lifetime boiled down and set up before us to view and find solace in understanding the picture, the patterns, and reason for every moment.

The color! The shallow depth of field! The bokeh! The perfect exposure!! And of course, the MUSIC :)
This song is so good. Time is just ticking on and on, it has no emotion, no mercy, people die every second, and yet it continues to move in a monotone. Incredible job on the song.

Sorry this is so personal...but my best friend suddenly passed away three years ago almost to the day of this upload. There's something so deeply powerful about your cello playing in this piece. It pulled out these emotions of grief that haven't surfaced in so long. I sobbed hard...and it hurt. But it was necessary, and it feels good now that it's been released. Thank you for your music!
I'm so sorry for your loss. Sometimes the best we can do is recognize what they meant to us, live on in a way that would make them proud, and continue to look back and realize how far we've come.

I love to hear my wife play but she said something profound after she played the piece ..she said this piece" time" should be called " time is of the essence '..and the heart of our forgotten feelings that beats like a metronome should always be remembered .. Hopefully this beautiful piece this composer wrote is noted for hope he brought back to the human race(..it's epically beautiful ).. and it's okay to take our time and feel an emotion ..and it's okay to heal and live again ..like we all are from the lives we lost from the pandemic and our struggles ..may we treat those with both compassion, respect and strength!

for some reasons there really is something sad and melancholic with a solo bowed string instrument!
I recall one piece I've listen to and was solo violin and felt kind of similar, not to your Inception but the about the way you attack the notes softly in a kind hugging way.
Sadly I believe I might not ever be able to to find back this piece that sounded similar texture wise. I guess it'll just finish as a forgotten memory I guess.... As if it never happened...

Hanz zimmer is one of my fav contemporary/modern compsers. His work in inception to wonder woman is phenomenal
O the many things that time is. You cannot buy it you cannot see it you cannot get it back once it is gone. It is a giver, a taker, it gives things clarity and meaning. We all have nearly the same amount of it. The real question is. Do you let time define you or do you define your time. Be fearless be courageous.
