After seeing your video last year, I decided to get MAJORLY out of my comfort zone and submit my first FFO ever into my county fair. And I had a ton of fun and managed to get best of show! Thank you for parasocially making me submit my work! Im now working away frantically for next year😅😅🏆
Many years ago, I entered a hardanger piece to our county fair... it took first and sweepstakes. I was thrilled! Took the same piece to our state fair. It took fifth place. The only reason it get anything higher was that they didn't like my frame... which I had professionally done. To me it sould be about the stitching... that piece took me a solid 3 months, doing nothing else, including housework! It was my first hardanger piece aside from my class learning piece, so I guess I did okay.
I'm so happy for you girls!! Yeah! Peacock won!! I so love that Cinderella won a blue ribbon! double Yeay for Stephanie placing on your own patterns! How exciting.
i think it's best to take the critiquing as a learning for next year and to not take it to heart. Congrats on all your ribbons. Over here (Scotland) I've entered a couple of pieces in SWI fairs, they totally judge the finishing at those. They'd be clutching their pearls at the duct tape.
Congratulations on your results.🏆 And love that Allison won with a Cinderella piece! Elizabeth from Thread Gremlins said that the majority of her feedback was around the framing.😂
🏆 really great haul from the fair. I have never entered any of my projects. In California they would write critique and some could be very negative so I never wanted to do that.
We can listen while you are Red 😛 The criticism by judges is to make you a better stitcher, but I'd throw the note out too. Had to pause the video, this was a lot of fun, great entries, cool ribbons, next year Best of Show!! 🏆Congrats again on all the ribbons!
What a great video! I’m so proud of you both! Love all your entries and enthusiasm. I am honored that you watched my fair videos. Happy stitching!! -Amanda Mae ❤❤
Enjoy seeing your stitching and finishes. Though I will admit to not understanding the allure of competitive crafting. But to each their own! If you enjoy it I am happy for you 😁
You guys ROCKED IT! Yall slayed the State fair. How fun! Stephanie… and idea for how to use your Wichelt linen. What about using it as backs on small pillows?
🏆🏆🏆 Congrats ladies! This was so fun to watch. There were so many amazing pieces at the fair this year and I loved seeing all the diversity in the crafts. I also went to the fair just to see the arts exhibits (and I had to snag a cinnamon roll too!) but it was too dang hot out to enjoy any other parts of the fair so we left. 😂 This experience definitely motivated me to FFO my stuff more often and not wait till the last minute. I’m so glad they didn’t take off for the way things were finished. And I am definitely going to get Pandemic professionally framed. She’s duct taped in that frame within an inch of her life! 😂 Thanks for motivating me to enter this year! ❤
🏆🏆 Great job ladies. I haven't entered in our local fair in years. Members of our stitchery guild used to be very involved in the Permian Basin Fair in Odessa, TX working, entering, demonstrating & even had a Textile Chairman over this department. This fair has an entry for professionals where the pieces done by the needlepoint owner/stitcher's pieces would have been entered. I believe pieces can be mailed to the State Fair in Dallas. I've never entered there, but others I know have & I've only been once since I live in Midland. 🏆🏆 Paula/Nana
love the Fair - but the fair in my town (Bremerton, WA) is pretty small. They don't even have an actual cross stitch category - just arts/crafts general category. But you guys have inspired me to enter something next year! Thanks for the inspiration!
You both should really think about stitching the Royal Holiday with me, then we can all enter them into the fair in two years😉😉 I see more blue ribbons in your future🔮 Think about it🤔🏆
Did you say that the 2 patriotic best in show pieces were designed by the stitcher? The one that got second place is a stunner so I wanted to know if it was a published piece. 😊

Your camera "made it murder" with that red filter 😂 Congrats on the ribbons! 🏅

Congratulations on all the ribbons! Just having that many finishes is a win, if you ask me!

I saw that one I’m sooooo glad ours wasn’t like that or we’d have been in big trouble 😂❤
