- Pipe Major Roderick Weir from the Royal Highland Fusiliers and the Massed Bands performing "Highland Cathedral" live @ the Basel Tattoo 2008...
Lyrics:
There is a land far from this distant shore
Where heather grows and Highland eagles soar
There is a land that will live ever more
Deep in my heart, my Bonnie Scotland
Though I serve so far away
I still see your dreams, cities and streams
I can't wait until the day
When I'll come home once more
And so Lord keep me from the harm of war
Through all its dangers and the battle's roar
Keep me safe until I'm home once more
Home to my own in Bonnie Scotland
Very good! Good good good! I love it.
God bless those two Berlin Pipers for the making of this tune :-)
Both of them.

The P/Maj is a member of 2 Scots (Royal Highland Fusiliers) who, incidentally were the FIRST Scottish Pipe Band to record this very fine tune composed by Michael Korbe. We recorded it at the James Last 'Hansa' studios in Berlin in 1985 and that version can be found on the LP/CD "Proud Heritage".
