Yes I know that the new Rally 1 cars are way faster but the old GrpA and 2.0 WRC cars just looked more spectacular and better to watch. They also all looked different, sounded different and all had different philosophies on how they used the rule book to produce their cars.
Grp A will always be my favourite era. Just look at the cars. Relatable, affordable, attainable. Lancia Delta HF Integrale. Ford Escort RS Cosworth. Subaru Impreza STI. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. They were as close to Rally cars for the road as you could get, they changed humble manufacturers into giant killers. We'll never see the likes of them again.
