A review of the 1 star rated scents would be great (: maybe also some 5 star that you disagree with? Of your list we agree on Ormande Woman, Fate Woman and Timbukto - did they survive the culling machine? 🙃
What a wonderful idea for a video! I've also been geeking out over Mr. Turin's videos. So much to learn. My favorite 5 star fragrances for now are Osmanthe Yunnan and L'Heure Bleue. I think i tend to like more of their 4-star fragrances
I only have the first guide. It was a fun read. Just checked and surprisingly have quite a few of the 5 star perfumes too. I've watched some of Luca Turin's videos. Will eventually get around to all of them. Great video!...and your hair looks fantastic longer.
That’s an interesting concept. I don’t know whether I’ve got a lot of 5 star fragrances, but I am going to have a look at the guide again. Hmm, I’ve got at least two of the fragrances you mentioned and actually got one because of your glorious review 😉.
The guide is fun to read, it's not only about reviews, but has a poetic aspect as well. It often makes me smile, even if I disagree - how they can butcher a fragrance in just two or three words, brilliant. I have some of those 5* perfumes, the latest aquisition being Rive Gauche. But I still have to try Fate Woman.
Agreed. I'm more than happy with the current Habit Rouge edt too. I think my love for it is partly due to the profound catharsis I experienced several years after initially smelling it. My first impression as a young buck was "Ugh. Gramps be poppin'." Literally word for word. 🤣 Four years later, "a genteel acquisition for the nobly astute." Seems I've come a long way. At least, that's what SHE said.
You have great taste Pep! And I did not even know that Ormonde Woman had been rated 5 stars. I am surprised by that, not because I don’t think it’s wonderful (clearly I do) but because I don’t often agree with Turin’s ratings haha.
If you get the chance, and haven't yet , sample Annick's Ambre Fetchie. I got a 5ml decant of it a couple years back, and broke it out today. I really like it. Kinda falls in line with Ambre Sultan some. Love NY Intense , 1740 , The Caron's The Caron's and Guerlian's at the price they sell for , it's so nice.
Yes, I'm always curious when I read one of their 5 star reviews.. So I went and ordered samples of all of those that were available. I was pleased with most of them.. can't think of any which I totally disliked.
Love your stuff mate. Being from Oz, did you ever get to try any of Christopher Chronis stuff? He was a Melbourne fashion designer and released a couple of fragrances. Both the men’s and women’s Christos fragrances (crucifix shaped bottles) were amazing.
Really interesting video. I just recently blind bought Timbuktu (partially because of your recommendation)...an amazing fragrance and the longevity is unreal. I have a sample of Ormonde Woman and love it. It will probably be a full bottle within the next few months. Cheers, Pep.
Great Idea, and great video! From my collection I adore Parchouli 24; Bogue - MEM; Auphorie - Miyako; Chanel - 31 Rue Cambon; Lush - Breath of God! I really want to add Derby and a vintage Mitsouko!
@@TheScentinel because i think there's no accounting for taste. His "guide" is a Chronicle, a Chronicle of his journey and his taste. He's not teaching anyone anything, he's expounding his opinion and presenting himself as an "expert"
@@RichMitch yeah, just like anyone else. I am interested in how he perceives perfume because of the scientific background he's coming from. But i don't take anyone's opinion too seriously.
My latest find is from the house of KRIGLER. 100ml. #75... and I also received mr smelly aka.dan gravitas! Both have a beautiful dry down. Do you have an email address or a Facebook account? I would like to send you some pics of my collection.

Yeah, i am sure i have several 4 stars as well. The Guide does love Guerlains
Now they’re all set to private 😭
This was a fun one! I haven’t tried most of these. Looking forward to trying Ormonde Jayne Woman and will give Patch 24 another sniff.
Thanks Lisa
This is amazing. Can’t wait to watch Mr Turin’s videos
Thanks Purvi
Great 📹 and I enjoyed it and me and my wife are going these fragrances and have a blessed day
You too Michael.
Thank you very much

Am i right to think you have Laddm Andreas?
The Scentinel Yes! And NY Intense 😊! But that’s about it...

I do like the poetic aspect as well
Leather that's seen a few things:)) well said!
Ah, i love that scent so much

Sounds like we share a similar experience with it.

Yeah, Ormonde Man got 5 as well, and i don't care for that one.
If you get the chance, and haven't yet , sample Annick's Ambre Fetchie.

New York Intense is no doubt up there for me. Have yet to sample some of the ones on your list though.
Cheers!
Lots to smell

No i didn't ever try those.
Thank for the link! Love it and il nerd out equally
Interesting, I need to check out the guide. Also, it'd be interesting to see the single and middle stars too.
This blog has them...

very interesting video! I discovered that I have quite a few 5 star perfumes! lol! 👍🌺
Which ones?
@@TheScentinel Guerlain classics and some others. I'm feeling inspired to do a video about them! 😊
The best Amouage I've smelled is Bracken Man. The most photorealistic Fougere ever.
Really interesting video. I just recently blind bought Timbuktu (partially because of your recommendation)...an amazing fragrance and the longevity is unreal. I have a sample of Ormonde Woman and love it. It will probably be a full bottle within the next few months. Cheers, Pep.
Thank you Jim. Good choicebon the OW
Pep love this video very nice.
Thank you

I need to smell Breath of God
The Scentinel The best £25 i have ever spent! Also comes in 30ml which is great! I am so 100% sure you will love it
Excellent video buddy. Loved it. Luca seems to hate most of my favourites 😂 . Although I agree with him on the NYI and the Carons
He does love the Caron masculines.
@@TheScentinel Very true buddy
Nice video!
Dear Pep, Intrigued by Patchouli 24 the most a fragrance that I have not tried yet. Thanks a million
It isn't to everyone's tast, but interested to read what you think
Caron - le 3e Homme is excellent.
For sure.
Interesting stuff Pep. I own beyond Paradise for Men, another controversial 5 star . Have you sniffed it? Caio
No i haven't mate. I have seen it at the odd Chemistwarehouse though.
The Scentinel into an interesting one. I really like it a lit, different, well complimented for me.
Is there a noticeable mossy/chypre character to Azemour Les Orangers?
For me there is, pretty much once you get through the orange top. But i would describe it as a dry chypre in the base
Good day!
you had me at "Luca Turin" ;-)
That was easy
I think Turin's book goes against what it means to be a fragrance collector/enthusiast.
How so?
