Something I notice about Roblox Studio to actaul Roblox is how for me the Studio never lags for me. But a game of the same quality in Roblox could slow down most of my devices.
I believe that Roblox Studio is the best engine for indie game devs since you have everything you need to make a game, there isn't anything that makes the engine too hard for nothing and with it, you can make your games very accessible. I've been a Roblox dev since 2014, i know pretty much everything there is to know about this engine and i can tell that you can do way better than what you see from others. There's some limitation suchs as the limits for cloud/toolbox assets data size but you can just split the asset in multiple pieces if it's too big. And i think games can only run if the memory usage is bellow 6GB, but using that much is excessive. Other than that, i don't really have any other issue, i guess transparent objects will look glitchy but you can make the effect less noticable. I hate the whole 'It's just a kids game' idea, i know that Roblox is filled with these cartoony kids game but Roblox is too good to be a 'kids game'. I think games should try to remove any content that will scream 'Roblox' such as the default materials, default character, default UI, Bloom and more. Not to sound like an old person but the Roblox community back then was better, it wasn't as childish and boring as it is today with these clicker gambling games or 'simulators' as they call it. I don't think there was any game that really shows the features Roblox studio has, like no game has physics as the main focus for example. I said i know pretty much everything about studio, well not everything, i don't know everything about lua, i haven't touched GUI enough to be a master at it and i think i will find something new about building and/or physics, they make updates once often so they might bring something new to this category sometime soon. Im not a scripter but what i whould like is the ability to use the camera, i think this will give some opportunity for specific games like that could be usefull for dancing games. I don't think Roblox supports VR trackers at all but i guess it whould be possible anyways by coding a 3rd party software that changes the data of the trackers to controller data tho can you use 2 or more controllers at once?
The map you show is actually no more than 1 hour work for a normal developer at roblox. Roblox have got a ton of limitations but this just means that there are a ton of work arounds! I have developed on roblox for more than a year and the graphics are not bad it depends on the developer's skills! Roblox supports good graphics but since it's hard to make and it takes a ton of time most of the games prefer the easier way and in addition the games which chose hyper realisum it's hard for them to edit the map once they built it! I'm currently working on a game which is based of GTA but with different idea and currently it's going nice! It's named Lost Sanches!
try to run realtime voxel raytracing in studio /j no but seriously roblox studio can be a very good engine but it does have it's issues (for example, it only has Lua, which can become an issue when you need to do more intensive work)
@@k4sp You can very easilly do that with metatables, OR tables themselves. There's two ways to make classes and objects with constructors, destructors, methods in them, you name it. The only thing missing is the class, public, and private keyword

Hey! I'm a Roblox dev since 1 year and half, and I was wondering if I needed to change my game development engine. I downloaded Unity, but my computer LAG on a template even if I have 8GB of ram. After watching this video, I'm not sure anymore: Roblox or Unity? My old Roblox projects did terrible results like 1.5k visits... During holidays, I remember spending like 6 hours a day working on my game, but it just didn't work! I don't get any visits! Maybe my idead are bad... Do you have something to recommand to me?
an actual game engine would give you way more control over whats going on in your game but roblox is prolly easier to get players so it just depends on what you want to do. but you can try out both and see which one you like more. also to advertise your games dont do trailers because no one knows ab them in the first place, you should instead advertise them by making TikToks/yt shorts/interesting yt vids ab ur game cuz thats what most ppl watch nowadays, but you have to be very strategic with what you show/how to interest people to play your game
@@k4sp Thanks for your answer! I will try Unity deeper. For the "marketing side", you said that getting Roblox players was easier. How can you get players if you publish your game on plateforms such as Google Play Store? Do you need to pay ads?

well, acctually there is game really well made specially one that is made to copy cod, if you search up for roblox cod game you find videos of a game that does not look like 99% of the roblox games, its so well made.
It is easier to promote Roblox game via social media if your country has a large audience, I can confirm this as I live in a country with small population it was hard to get it out but one of my games got viral because of the audience from neighbouring countries: Indonesia & Malaysia. Also making unique games is not as worth making compared to simpler games on Roblox nowadays so don't spend too much time on it because the chances are slim that it will blow up unless the idea is really good and you see a potential from it
