  • We know it may be hard to believe now, but Paul Rodriguez had to send in a sponsor-me tape just like everybody else. This is rarely heard story of P-Rod's humble beginnings.

    Man makes me think about when I was younger, all I ever wanted to become was a pro skater lol.
    I would skate everyday and play the first Tony Hawks Underground when it got dark outside and I couldn't skate no more.
    Skated for years but then real life got in the way, now I always wonder what would've happened if I had stuck to it.
    Would still love to work in the skate industry tho!
    RESPECT PAUL!

    I used to think status and dna were so awesome. I must've watched micro analysis a thousand times in a year. The status decks had this nice clean high contrast look to them and I remember really liking the shapes too. I remember thinking if a kid as small as paul could nolle noseslide 8 stair rails then I probably could as well. That was one of the videos that shaped my skating during that period.

    all I ever rode was status boards when I was a kid. They were pretty much the shop board at gspot in fairless hills PA. (Chris Cole's hometown shop sponsor)

    Is it just me... despite the obvious hair cut, but does paul have the most mild barely noticeable onset of hair loss? .. i'm not heroin or anything. I swear there's some mild hair loss.

    Prod was born rich to rich famous parents. he didn't need to get sponsored. his story doesn't count.

    • @witherino
      @witherino 7 років тому +8

      What? Doesn't matter how rich you are, if you aren't skilled, you don't go pro.

    • @juvedoo99
      @juvedoo99 7 років тому +5

      Alicia Diamond With that logic, you could say the same thing about Riley Hawk. Thing is, in skating if you have no skill, and personality, you won't go anywhere. Paul has both, regardless of financial status growing up

    • @cheepasskid
      @cheepasskid 7 років тому

      just because parents are rich doesn't mean they buy everything for any reason and will take the time out of their busy days to go hunting for the gear that you want.
      getting hooked up like that is different even if you're rich.

    • @Y0utubeIsFuckingHomo
      @Y0utubeIsFuckingHomo 7 років тому

      It does matter, his parent's being rich is a huge x factor in him developing his skills, it's easy to find time to skate when you have no real responsibilities.
