New to resin, this video was great at explaining the differences between "pouring" (fast curing) and "casting" (thinner viscosity, slower curing time). Thanks so much! New to your channel as well! Subscribed!

I've actually been using a table top counter top and bar top resin for coasters and ashtrays, it is about crystal clear best it can be with out a pressure pot, I mean the micro bubbles are hardly there and is just super hard and clean! It is from the local home depot, or hardware store I'll get the name after I go in an I will post it so other folks can try it

    • @missdejarae

I got some from a hardware store and for some reason it just isn't working for me. I've got the silicone cups that I use and I try to measure as equally as possible but the tops bad sides do not cure like the bottoms. I don't understand

    • @bobiijae790
      @bobiijae790 3 роки тому +6

@@missdejarae pink sure that the resin you're getting is like a one-to-one ratio and you're mixing it according to the ratio that it's supposed to be cuz when I first started mixing resin I would get one to one and instead of like measuring it equally I was trying to do it by like milliliters or by weight and some of that one-to-one ratio stuff can't be measured by the weight of it because the epoxy is heavier than the actual hardener so it throws off the mixture if that makes any sense so instead you want to get cups to have like lines on them like the plastic cups to have lines on them or the silicone cups that have lines on them and just go by that, I know it can be kind of frustrating at first because when I started almost two years ago my resin wasn't mixing properly it was coming out rubbery even when I didn't use any alcohol ink and you got to be careful when you use alcohol ink because if you use more alcohol ink than what the resin can handle while it's curing it actually changes the chemical component of it or whatever compound of it and it makes it rubberized it's so crazy you want to get a decent resin I know when you first start out is kind of hard to get like a more expensive resin but I get stuff from home Depot is called glaze coat it's one to one and it always comes out nice and clear it has micro bubbles but I don't have a pressure pot to get the micro bubbles out and it has a decent pot life I think it has like a 45-minute pot life some of them only have a 30 minute pot life so you got to kind of work quickly and I've actually started thinking about working with a two to one or three to one ratio because it's very thin so it spreads easily and you can do like smaller trinket stuff with it and it's a thinner viscosity so it's easier to really spread out

I use table top/ bar counter resin as well. Pro marine has been working well for me, but those mixing ratios (1 to 10 by volume for this brand) making sure they are well mixed are KEY

I just joined & have truly enjoyed your resin info!
    I am trying to:
    PRESERVE MY DAUGHTER'S BOUQUET!
I NEED YOUR TOP CHOICES FOR:
**DEEP POUR RESIN 3-4 inches deep for a HEART SHAPE MOLD & LARGE INITIALS.
** GLASS LIKE & NON YELLOWING
    **ZERO BUBBLES I (I'm in the U.S.A.)
Losing my mind trying to find THE BEST deep-pour resin for silica-dried rose, etc bouquets that I can afford for her. IT IS SOOO CONFUSING.
I have searched for your video explaining this but I can't find it now that I need it. 😞
I hear "Liquid Glass", JDictiom, & hardware store brands, but every video I click sends me down another rabbit hole of confusing choices to make. I am overwhelmed & so confused & my ADHD makes it that much more difficult! I want this to be perfect for them & something she will be proud of years after I am gone.
I have a budget, so could you please list 3 brands (Available in the 🇺🇸 U.S.) for me to ensure I can find it here quickly?
Please list in order of performance so I can make the best decision for my project & my budget. (If that is not too much trouble!!)
Zero bubbles, color retention in the flowers & non-yellowing, are the 3 things I want to ensure.
I will gladly take your advice! Your creations are beautiful, your videos are on point & easy to understand. You are my fav resin artist & your youtube got me started in this craft. I appreciate you!
Please link if possible so you can receive credit for my purchases.
I LIKE, JOINED SUBSCRIBED, etc on Fb & Instagram & that coffee ☕️ is headed your way!
