Ep 70: Split Card Game Review (Parker Brothers 2002) + How To Play

A review on how to play the card game Split by Parker Brothers. By request :)
The latest edition of Split published by Hasbro is similar to the previous edition (Split), except that now the goal has changed.
The goal is no longer to connect across the board (which no longer comes with the game), but to garner the most points by collecting perfect, strong, and weak matches. When a match is made, the player gets a special action, depending on the match. Perfect matches allow the player to force another player to fill in a negative box on his scoresheet, strong matches allow the player to draw a card from the draw pile, and weak matches allow the player to exchange matches of the same type. More than one match may be made each turn and a special scoresheet is used to keep track of points. Found this game for two bucks yesterday (along with two other games for $2 each: Uno Stacko and Take Your Pick)! Excited to learn Split with the family.

Thank you for this video. I had this from a thrift store years ago and wasn’t impressed. I found it again this week, the cards were in better shape and because of this clip decided to give it another chance.
What isn’t real clear here is that the discard pile must show every card below the top such as in Rummy 500, so that you know which other cards you have to take by accepting the top one.

Can you actually use the score sheet when you explain. It’s confusing. Don’t you have to mark something every time you play?

My favorite card game. So sad they quit making it. I've been lucky enough to pick up a spare one for the camper before the price went through the roof for a used one.

@squish1504 I grabbed another one on ebay before the process got too terribly high. I recently found one at goodwill too. My adult kids love the game too so I always have my eye out.
