Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the PTC custom fit air cabin filter here on our 2015 Toyota Sienna. Now, if you're like me, you might be like, why do I want to replace my cabin air filter Well, I haven't replaced mine in quite awhile and after doing a couple of these they really do start building up a lot of debris. So if you are having a lot of trouble with like maybe seasonal allergies, I might recommend taking a look at your filter and seeing if you need to actually change it out. The installation's gonna be no trouble at all.
Let's go ahead and see how we can do it. So, first step we're going to go ahead and get in our passenger side here. We're going to remove anything we have in our glove box. And then we just want to let that guy hang like so. We're gonna first start with his damper rod on the side here.
I just want to go ahead pop that to the side, you saw how easy that was. That just kinda makes sure that we are doing a good job of dropping it. Won't be dropping it too hard. Normally, as you can see. Then you can see this little plastic tab here on the side.
There's going to be one on either end. So all we really want to do is pop it like so, getting it past that point, repeating that process for the other side. I can help to try to get as close to there as possible and you can see popping that is going to gently allow this to fall. So you'll notice on the inside here that we actually have our fan for our air to basically pull in at the top here is going to be our cabin door access. So just want to go ahead.
There's a little latch here. I'm going to push that in and on the other side as well, pressing those it's going to allow this door to pop right off. You can see it just has a couple of little tabs there that fit underneath it. Now you are going to notice one big thing is our air flow indication. We do want to make sure that we are having that in the right direction. So we're go ahead and make note of that. And see that air flow pointing up and taking this out you can see just a little debris. It looks like these guys have been doing a pretty good job of cleaning these out. You can definitely see all that pollen kind of building up in there. So you can see kinda just the difference between our new white media particulate here and our old one. You can see a little of that dust and pollen buildup. Now this one's nothing too crazy guys. You know, you can get away with this probably however you know, it's been a couple months and if you really starting to want to get fresh clean air I would recommend just going ahead and replacing the new one. So that's what we're going to do today. Now, when we pulled this out we did take note of that air flow. However, you'll notice where our fan is on our vehicle here, it's actually down. So how these guys actually work they're actually pulling air in. So we actually want our air flow to actually help that. So we want our air flow actually indicating down. So just be sure when you are putting these in that it is in the correct position. So you can see here we've got our new filter. Our air flow is going towards our fan pushing that guy in. He's going to be nice and set and then we can go ahead and replace our door. To do that we're just push in those sides. We are nice and secure. Now we just want to go ahead and re-add our glove box getting those hinge mount set, like so. We just want to walk this guy up pulling in those sides for ourselves. You can see it does want to close but let's not go ahead and forget our dampener rod here. We just want to pull that guy, slide them right on. And that is you can see does a good job of making sure we aren't crashing on ourselves too much putting any kind of damage on there and we can close our glove box and we're good to go. Well as you guys saw that installation takes no time at all. Hopefully we can start saving ourselves a few extra pennies when we are getting our car serviced. And again, as we mentioned if you're starting to find yourself coughing a lot getting a lot of sneezes inside the vehicle even with the AC running, this can be a great way of hopefully reducing some of those allergens. Well, that about does it for our look at the PTC custom fit air cabin filter with white media particulate here on our 2015 Toyota Sienna. I'm Bobby, thank you for watching..
