How Well Does This Car Actually Work? Tamiya Tyrrell P34 Six-Wheeler

- While most people may not use the Tamiya Tyrrell P34 Six-Wheeler on any official track, we knew that the best way to test the limits of this F1 was to get it out an into its element!
We headed to Cal Raceway in Orange, CA, for a fun day in the sun day - minus the sun. It was a bit overcast with track temps much lower than normal, but knew there would be quite a few people there and a good chance to go head-to-head with other F1 cars.
Of course, the day didn't end well... You'll see how it all played out near the end of the video.
Stay tuned for the online video build series and review coming soon.
Enjoy.

Runs great! ..Got it dialed pretty good already
Right out of the box plus damper disc grease. Can't wait to see how it runs after a little tuning!
Never thought it would perform this well.
We were quite surprised as well - and that's right out of the box. Want to do a little tuning to really see what kind of performance we can get.
Beautiful kit and amazing car in general.
Here's to the hope that someone releases one in 1/24th scale.
Oh my, 1/24 scale??? Now that would be a fun car!!!
That was awesome, cant wait to try this on carpet track
I bet, on the foams, it would be pretty amazing!!!
I do believe that if it had a more powerful motor, it could be so much better on the straights because it seems to be doing wonderfully around the turns
Agreed. We wanted to go easy on it at first so as to not crash it. However, we might drop in something a little more powerful now and see what it can do!
I had one of these way back, bought it when a guy was getting out of RC and he practically gave it away. Took it to the track not expecting much, but after a few tweaks, the thing was hooked!! It was and still is one of the best handling little on road cars I've ever driven for what it was. The reissue should sell better than the originals, because of UA-cam!
Agreed. It certainly surprised me how well it got around the track in stock form - even the kit motor! Like you said, it does need a few tweaks that I bet will make it a stellar car to drive!
@@Competitionxall it needs is a proper shock and servo saver
Great driving. Just reeled everyone in. I should build mine. Its been sitting in storage unbuilt for at least 12 years.
Well, the foam tires make a pretty big difference. However, it was the stock Mabuchi brushed motor against a field of brushless, so, yeah. it did well! Fun to drive as well!
Great driving it got around the track well my dad use to have a ho slot car like this I thought it was the coolest thing
Yup, was actually surprised it made it around that good with very minimal tuning - just made sure all of the linkages were straight. Some additional tuning (and maybe tire sauce) and it might be amazing to drive!
Nice driving!
Thanks!
Love to see a build video of this car as I'm thinking of getting one maybe to race 🙂
Working on it right now. Just adding the overdub - should be up by Thursday.
You’re a blumin good driver 👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Very cool Rc and Nice driving!
Thanks! Super fun car - doing some mods right now to make it a little bit better.
Wow, what did you use to record this awsome video!
You were threatening that needle really good for a while. Lol
Ya, pretty easy to drive for sure.
Cool
Great track!! Is it open to anyone to come race if they're in the area? Very cool! I have a P34 on pre-order. Looks like you were doing really well with the car on that track just fyi. You managed to pass quite a few people.
It is. Check out Cal Raceway on Facebook for updates and schedules for both racing and practice.
@@Competitionx awesome thanks!
I think you should run it out there man in the race.
Thinking about it. Unfortunately we don't allow foams at the track :(
@@Competitionx I thought they made rubber ones for for the earlier kits you always put rubber tires on there.
They did at one point. Unfortunately, those tires are hard to get right now.
@@Competitionx they also suck, so better stick to foams, especially with such a delicate bodyshell
Where's the build video at. You said you was going to show it.
Working on it now. Should be up early next week.
What type of battery are you using in this video?👍
Protek shorty LiPo, here: bit.ly/47Mlkjv
you had to modify the original battery holders, these are 3d printed parts?
Ummm, nope! The first run the out-of-the-box build and setup - 2nd half of the video is the same car with a few setup tweaks.
I forgot what motor you have in it?
Kit Mabuchi motor.
Stock motor?
Yessir - right out of the box!!!!
