You both take the unplanned in your stride and that is fabulous. My hubby gets stressed if a pedestrian dares to cross the road in front of our van. As for road closures and detours........nightmare. We arrive at our destination totally wiped out. You two are so chilled!
That certainly Was a journey containing every obstacle possible .... well Done for taking it all in your stride - I bet you were so glad to hear “you have reached your destination on the left” 😀
Don’t worry about getting lost in Luxemburg, we did exactly the same in 1989 towing our caravan and found ourselves in the Embassies district before Sat Navs and just a map to get us out. We did it!
I really enjoyed that, thank you. Visited Rudesheim several times. Last time we had a beautiful hotel not far from your campsite. Christmas is the time to go, incredible there.
Brilliant video and an interesting day. At least Jenny didn't need her wrist band for the ferry. Whenever we 'get lost' we look at it as a magical mystery tour - enjoy
A very interesting journey, just proves life is full of surprises, only shocks if you let them get you down. As usual you always look on the bright side and make lite of it. Stay safe.
Just joined .....love love love your sense of humour , we get our van in 2 week and you have made us so excited...tv banned until we see all your videos, you have made this transition so wonderful for us. Thank you.
🤣I thought it was just us who had journeys like that! Our last trip away, we had 4 diversions on the same journey. We were in the dead of night going up and down little back roads and lanes without a clue where we were. But at least it was in this country. All a learning curve, and memories made.
There is a stretch of the Rhein of about 70km with no road bridges, hence the busy ferry service. I love that site and have been twice before. Asbach distillery is worth a visit, the brandy is even cheaper at the visitors centre than the supermarkets.
Oh my what a journey. However you going to Rudesheim brings back some great memories for me as I visited the area when I was a teenager. Stayed in a place called Aulhausen on the top of the valley above Rudesheim. The cable car comes down from the Niederwalddenkmal (the big monument on the top of the valley) down into Rudesheim I rode up and down on it a few times, you get some great views of the valley. It was the one they used in the Elvis film GI Blues where he sang "Wooden Heart." Did you get a chance to go to the Asbach Wine Distillery, and the Drosselgasse? I hope you had a good time there as it is or was a great place with some special memories for me. Thanks for giving me a quick glimpse there again x
Time to get Jenny some driving lessons, give you a break from all those detours ! Is it time you got another sat nav ? Or is it just the navigator ! Think I would have pulled over some where for a well earned 40 winks. This site still looks busy, is that because you are near all the river cruises , or is it still holiday season in Germany ? I was going to watch the last episode of Bodyguard, but after all that driving I may just go to bed !
Thanks, the trouble with our current sat nav, is that it doesn't cope well with diversions akways trying to get us back to the road we diverted off. Modern ones know about road works etc. We did have a few stops on the way. This still is still packed even on a Monday, so it must be popular here.
Michael and I would of been pulling our hair out, your both so calm , 😀👍👍👍

Thanks, so true, worrying at the time, but it made it an adventure.
"magical mystery tour" wish my husband would have that attitude! That's exactly the way to look at it,👍.
Stayed there in mid july. It was rammed busy (and better weather). Walk into town is very pleasant.
“Take the ferry” classic, well done guys
Great Video, very interesting journey and good navigation skills Jenny.

Thanks, I was just saying yesterday, that I wanted to go back there for longer.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo the bridge was bombed by air and finally blown up by retreating German troops to impede the allied advance.
@@chopper602 yes, what is surprising is that it was never rebuilt.
Fantastic!
Interesting trip .
i enjoy your vlogs
What an adventure!
It was
My that was a journey and half! I lived very close to Rudesheim at Hocheim. I wonder where you go next.
It certainly was!

Thanks and no we didn't have time and the weather was poor, next time we'll come for longer
Salut cred că este foarte frumoasă călătoria cu rulota te simti liber. Succes
It was very good. Thank you.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo multumesc pentru raspuns.
"After 400 metres, take the ferry". "What???" Classic!
Hi Bob, I see the new GoPro hero 7 black boasts built in superior stabilisation similar to a gimble. £379.99 pre-order price.
Yes, I saw some reviews of it. Does look good. Christmas is coming...
LOL! two minds think alike😂👍
All part of a road trip when we travel abroad we plan nothing ,great fun . Enjoy Germany
Hi well done! did the river crossing cost much? enjoy your stay,
Thanks, the crossing cost €11.80 if memory serves me.

interesting journey to say the least... what did the ferry cost?
William Channing €11.80
thank you - cheaper than the Isle of wight 😃
do you book your sites in advance
Oh yes we book in advance, have a look at the first two videos in this playlist, planning and preparation.
Which sat.nav are you using?
Which do a good guide on dashcam use in EU countries
Thanks, I'll look that up.
Route 8 is the direct route to Germany shame you got lost German border is very close
It made a good video anyway!
Trier = Karl Marx. Two slices of Olde Englande getting on the ferry - minis and the Mary Roos.
Ah yes, Karl Marx.
