Thanks!! I actually filmed a video on my other channel of the whole process (channel is called pigeonpaperbacks) but the one I'm building now I'm trying to film as much of the process as possible and that will be on here when it's done
Oh, this sounds so good! And I see from another comment you made it, so awesome. I especially like the deep tone on this one. Is it for sale? If so, what is your pricing? Thank you!
Thanks! This one is actually my personal gourd that I play, but all my others I sell. I'm actually putting a few up on etsy this week and I'll link my store in my bio (tiswinstringworks) I'm pricing them in the 450-600 range right now, depending on the particulars
@@bengreco Heck yah! I am stoked to check out your store. I just ordered some gourd seeds and am hopeful I can grow some nice big gourds this year. If I am successful I would be happy to mail you one or share seed with you. :)
the songs are called Darlin' Cora and Crying Shame. It's old time Appalachian music, check out Clifton Hicks' channel, that's where I learned both songs
Very cool build! Live the wooden Tuners and the handpinned hide!
One of the best versions of darlin Cory I've ever heard, beautiful mellow warm tone on your banjo sir
Thank you, Ben. Your beautiful banjo is a work of art and you're playing it is equally beautiful.
You ever thought about making a video on how you make your gourd banjos? All the ones you show on this channel are gorgeous

Is there a video where someone made an acoustic with hide?
Sounds great but you have to toss that plastic buttoned fifth peg
I agree, this was an earlier build, before I figured out how to make a good 5th string friction peg
Dude, now I have to go make a banjo to feel whole again!

How do you learn where the notes are?
I put in side dot inlays at every fret position, but after a while you kinda get used to it and don't need to look as much
Same way you get to carnagy hall
