I bought this two years ago and left it gain dust. Picked it up literally today and it slaps (even as single player). It’s as you say, gritty at times with the gameplay but also funny with the dialogue. Get this at a discount and you’ll have fun 😂
Just played through the full game with my friends. Wish it hadn’t been abandoned. They had something they could genuinely update and improve, they could add new areas, enemies, loot, etc. Just another case of developers not being willing to commit to a project long term.
I hope one day I can do a similar game like this one. I still not sure why there're not more games like this. thanks for the video and your point of view
I have spent a potentially irresponsible amount of time on Necropolis, both playing and modding it, so it's nice to see folks giving it some positive acknowledgement outside of the discord. If it hadn't been shut down I would have suggested looking into Worlds Adrift because it was an absolutely baffling but quite unique experience. Oh well. Life goes on. Anyway, I like your video.
The only issue i had is when i would play coop in my friends lobby. Coop was great until we tried getting off and found out my character becomes an exact replica of his character when logging back in, basically just deleting my character. Did necropolis brutal edition fix this or is this same piss poor mechanic still in the game?
Necropolis is the literal biggest missed opportunity in all of gaming imo. With a more in depth progression system, more bosses and a little more spice in the combat it could have been so much more. The visuals and world building are an honest 11/10 but it just missed

I really do wish this game had been finished. It truly is a hidden gem. I left the Necropolis once... and it was truly a fantastic journey.
